1361  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] MergedMining 2.0 on: October 02, 2012, 05:16:04 PM
Rather than paying out one big dividend to shareholders for MergedMining assets you sell it could be used it to buy into RSM - (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=63257.0) and RSM could pay MergedMining shares for there BFL-SC-Single upgrades and any other BFL's.  MergedMining would then receive dividends from the RSM shares it holds.  Which could be paid out and/or used as MergedMining shareholders see fit.  I'd like to take over MergedMining and with the money it receives from the RSM shares it would hold invest 50% into other mining companies with a strong organic growth plan and pay the other 50% out as a dividend.  These are just ideas I'm putting forward if I was to take over MergedMining and keep it running.  Any future decisions after I'm CEO would have to be decided by a motion of MergedMining shareholders.  Also we would have to arrange a way for the old CEO to be paid off and for me the new CEO to get paid for running MergedMining.

Anyway these are just ideas I'm throwing out to the MergedMining CEO and shareholders if they want me to take over there mining company by RSM buying it out.  Then continuing MergedMining as an investment fund with its main income from its RSM holdings at first.

Thanks,

Matt (CEO of RSM)

I'd much rather get the special dividend than shares of RSM, as I would be able to invest that in any company I wanted to.  Plus, if he's already received an earnest payment for the assets it means the sale is essentially a done deal.

I could keep MergedMining running and grow it with the money it makes off its RSM holdings.  What I'd like to do is pay out 50% of the money the RSM assets make and invest the other 50% of money it makes into other GLBSE shares.  That could be decided with the help of MergedMining shareholders.  MergedMining shareholders would receive more money than the one off final dividend.  Even if a deal has been brokered to sell all the BFL orders and equipment.  RSM could pay MergedMining value of any coin it receives in shares of ASIC's that RSM buy's.  RSM could pay MergedMining ~350 shares for every BTC110.00 it receives which would be used to buy RSM more BFL-SC-Singles.  RSM is already offering 92.3(MH/s) per share and this ratio would only increase with any money/assets received from the MergedMining take over.  So this is in effect MergedMining receiving >(100MH/s) per RSM share for every BTC0.30 of investment RSM receives from the MergedMining takeover.

Early 20's.

I'm 12, and what is this?
Glad to know someone beat me to the line.

Yeah by fifteen months.
1364  Other / Meta / Re: Demographics of BitcoinTalk on: September 30, 2012, 10:12:38 PM
I don't buy that that is all the people under 16 on these forums (0.7% is far too low). Maybe younger people tend to be more anonymous?

Could be. I was also surprised about that.

Not only that, some of these younger people tend to say they are older than what they actually are (even though those usually don't get out of the newbie section, and when they get, some deserve being sent back)...
Personally I'll vote in for the "Male, 10–19" category now. It's not like my real date of birth and gender can't be easily found with a internet search... Smiley

Also I could imagine a lot of the very younger people just follow and read the forum with out actually joining.
1365  Other / Off-topic / Re: How old are you? on: September 30, 2012, 10:02:24 PM
Wow. The top category is "over 55." I guess we all get dismissed and lumped together when we get that ancient, although current life expectancy for most 1st world countries is 80 or more.

Well only three people over 55 voted so not a big problem.

How about creating a local board for UK and Irish users to discuss events and ideas local to the islands?

Its not clear it is a new thing. Maybe their site just not make clear how it works.

Well English is not there first language being Italians.  Maybe someone should try emailing them first for more info and post it here before taking the plunge.

It sounds like a LETS (Local Exchange Trading Sytem) - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Local_exchange_trading_system - but on an international scale.

Hmm if that were so surely the person offering lessons need not have waited to sell a lesson but could instead have gone to visit Spain and reported to the record-keeping site that the person in Spain had contributed however many whatevers by putting someone up on their couch?

I get the feeling this is more sinister, that the "we take the macroeconomics off your hands" basically means they get to make up money like the Federal Reserve and sell it to people.

-MarkM-

Maybe, I just read about it in TechCrunch - Italians Take Up The Torch To Ignite Their Own Tech Startup Scene - http://techcrunch.com/2012/09/30/italians-take-up-the-torch-to-ignite-their-own-tech-startup-scene/ - and thought it worth sharing.

1371  Economy / Securities / Re: [LTC Global] - LTCI - Light mining fund and fund of funds on: September 30, 2012, 08:12:24 PM
There simply isn't enough to invest in for another round of funds based on illiquid securities, especially if all you invest in is Litecoin-Global.

Have we not learned anything from folks getting their asses kicked when everything on GLBSE takes a shit, and takes all the funds and funds of funds along for the ride? The route litecoinglobal has taken isn't all that much different from GLBSE as far as approving securities, so I fail to see how the outcome should be expected to be different.

When there are more players, and market makers on the exchange, then funds might be appropriate, but it is very unlikely that a fund manager can do any better than a private investor in this market.

Investing in fixed hash rate mining bonds is a sure fire way to lose money. There should never be another one of those. Those should pay a fixed or floating rate of interest based on something other than difficulty. The return should reflect the risk, and the true cost of borrowing capital, not the potential reward for having spent capital. Those bonds offload the operator's risk onto the unwise investor, leaving him holding the whole bag (and leaving the operator in a position close out the debt at a significant discount, securing a tidy profit)

Well as LTCI spreads the risks by buying a selection of shares and is selling shares from 1.0LTC each it offers an easy and cost efficient way to safely micro-invest.  Were not looking for $k's of investment this is more a beta-project on a beta-exchange and offering a safer way to invest from amounts as small as 1.0LTC.

Asset approved.

I know in this case it's somewhat preaching to the choir, but please be prudent with your investments and take good care of your shareholders.  Smiley

Cheers.

Thanks,

The shares are now for sale on the market.
1376  Economy / Securities / [LTC Global] - LTCI - Litecoin investment fund offering micro-investing on: September 29, 2012, 10:54:42 PM
LTCI - Litecoin Investments

The goal of this investment fund is to invest in litcoin mining bonds/stocks and
litecoin investment funds. This fund spreads the risks involved in just
investing in one mining company or investment fund.

The plan is to issue 10,000 shares at 1.0LTC each and invest the proceeds in AJM.MINING - (https://www.litecoinglobal.com/security?s=AJM.MINING), LTC-CHARTS - (https://www.litecoinglobal.com/security/LTC-CHARTS), LTC-GOLD - (https://www.litecoinglobal.com/security/LTC-GOLD), LTC-SILVER - (https://www.litecoinglobal.com/security/LTC-SILVER), LTC-ATF - (https://www.litecoinglobal.com/security/LTC-ATF), PYRPXYLTC - (https://cryptostocks.com/securities/23) - and LTC-GLOBAL
- (https://www.litecoinglobal.com/security?s=LTC-GLOBAL) to start off with.  More
mining stocks/bonds and investment funds will be looked at in future as they
join the market.  After the 10,000 shares have been sold we will look at issuing
more shares to grow the fund.  If more shares were issued after the 10,000 IPO at 1.0LTC each then the ask price for the shares would be at least 10% greater on each issue.  To enable early investors to relaise a quick sale profit on there investment if they so choose.

47.5% of the dividends received will be reinvested into buying more shares(and at times may used to buy back shares in LTCI),
47.5% will be be issued as a dividend and 5% will be paid to the funds operator.
The fund operator will also receive 1% of all shares issued.  The Fund operator will also receive 5% of the yearly NAV growth in the shares we buy in companies that don't pay a dividend.  Such as LTC-ATF and LTC-SILVER.

If the fund needs to close down all assets will be sold and used to buy back all
shares in LTCI.

Also HorseRider another reason I'm happy with new share issues (as long as they make us a profit) is that it's the only way I get paid by 5% of the shares of all the new shares issues.  I've only been paid 80 shares to run RSM so far but am due to receive 28 more once we meet 2600 shares sold from the last issue of 550 shares (as I only get paid my 5% of shares from the new issues after the new issue has sold).  I initially got paid 50 shares from the first 1000 created (5%) but then we hit problems and RSM had to issue shares to survive it seemed so I didn't see it fit to be paid my 5% of share issues until things looked brighter.  Although you must say being paid 107(that's including the future 28) shares out of 2800 (or 3.8%) and 5% of all new shares issued that I'm probably the lowest paid CEO on RSM by percentage of stock.  I do actually own 371 shares in RSM at present but I bought 291 of them out of my own pocket off the market.

Matthewh3, Thank you. I really appreciate that.

I promise here, that after the first arrival of the BFL mining rigs and you showed us the sound evidence that you're running a serious mining operation, I will do my best to support your future expansion. You know that I have invested a lot in ASICMINER, if it successful taped out the chip, I will be able to support your mining operation by both source the ASIC rigs and invest money in RSM.

Cool what was you thinking of doing?  Giving us a ASICMINER board(s) for shares?

This thing would also be more useful if it actually remembered all those people I used to have set up in it.

Somehow it seems to have no recollection of anyone today.

I am already on Sone, three times in fact, once as markm, once as Knotwork, and once as Digitalis.

However the web of trust forgot my identities, and the recover option does not let you assign your nickname, so I had to pretend to create nickname from scratch but over-rode the new random keys with my old keys for my identities. It still after many days will not let me introduce any of them, still saying it takes some time to download puzzles. Sone seems to remember at least parts of the conversations I was in though.

I noticed on starting RetroSHare today that it wanted to know my location, so I told is Desktop, I don't know if that is why it decided to forget everyone. Its not as if it created a new identifty for me as me at Desktop, or if it did it deleted my existing identity as me at unspecified place while it was at it, as it only has one identity for me, now known as being at Desktop, and knows of no other people whatsoever.

-MarkM-

I've never had any problems with Retroshare like that.  I'm just sorting out the WoT plugin on Freenet maybe you can help me get started with Sone after I've finished that.
