...
just a thought, i know that this may sound a little " conspiracy theorist" but anyone else think that this may be caused by the people that are trying to control crypto ( politicians) so that they get " their" cut?

I can tell you for a FACT that News coverage was biased as well as non-factual. I watched it and was pretty pissed off I can tell you. I've been explaining for a week how the coin can't be "Hacked" and it was only an exchange an it was 2 YEARS ago to boot! People are generally morons and eat up whatever they are spoon fed.
13603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NobleCoin[NOBL] - E-SPORTS/WATER PROJECT**MARKETPLACE**8 EXCHANGES**35 MERCHANTS on: March 15, 2014, 01:17:27 AM
what the hell happened? i've been gone for 3 weeks, real life, and i get home turn on the comp and all i see is total devastation.

can someone fill me in?

even coinmarket.io isn't working? is it me?

YEAH, your lucky you missed it! A terrible last 3 weeks. As was stated GOX finally bailed not being able to operate on the reserves they have been trying to float on since the hack 2 years ago. coupled with the fact Mainstream news is misreporting it as Bitcoin being hacked as to scare the people away from crypto's and over half of the alt exchanges either outright stealing coins and claiming hacks or being hacked the market is in trouble as the common man who was coming around to the Idea has had his faith shaken. And the markets are reflecting that. These fly bye night Exchanges are destroying the entire Industry.

...
@Rofo you should put Austin Global in the topic title!:p

Lets see if they successfully launch first. I sent DGB there a day and a half ago and have not been able to even get to the market with it.

Had 7k doge yesterday woke up today still hadn't changed. Didn't change all day and now for the last 3 hours page is down. I read the message migrating but the front end has to be up for a few seconds an hour anyway for updates.

All fine now and apparently backend updated front end.

NOTE: this isn't cudaminer. It's a separate project, so don't expect to find this in the cudaminer trunk.
It might be merged in later on, but there are several proprietary stratum extensions made by the
1gh pool that are a bit messy to merge.  This is the main reason we started with a fresh fork.

CoinMarket.io status update

1. What happened?

We got exploited. Somewhat. The majority of coins were saved by cold storage and a quick reaction.
A couple of users abused a bug in the trading engine allowing them to create coins (increase balance) out of nothing.
Do you remember the day when KARM/BTC 24h volume was 400+ out of the blue? That volume came from those malicious users trading.
When we noticed the problem, we stopped all trading to investigate the situation.
Unfortunately, we failed to find the bug fast enough to resume normal operation and cover the losses from fees.
The new trading engine (rewritten) still suffers from this unknown-to-us issue, this is why we have not resumed any trading.
Meanwhile, we allowed all withdrawals to happen - because it was the right thing to do.
Because of high withdrawal volumes, the wallets ran out of normal unspent inputs and started to combine too many small inputs for withdrawals.
There is a limit of inputs/outputs in a cryptocurrency transaction.
If the wallet software (the official stuff that everybody uses) chooses or attepts to choose too many inputs,
the transaction will fail with "Transaction too large" or "Transaction creation failed" error.
It has nothing to do with insufficent balance. This problem was caused by miners who mined directly to the deposit address, creating tens of thousands of small inputs.
The default algo for choosing transaction inputs (coin selection) is not designed for exchanges. We need to create some code that does some raw transaction magic.
Also, some coins have landed on an invalid fork - because we were too busy with other issues. We will update all coindaemons tonight.
Everything has taken too much time because multiple problems hit us at the same time and debugging the situation was not so simple.

2. What is the solution? What are you doing now?

We have manually processed some withdrawals, but that process is too slow.
An automatic script will be running tomorrow - it will hopefully process the stuck withdrawals.
If your withdrawal status changes to "manual", it means that we manually processed it.
If your withdrawal status changes to "fixed", it means that the automatic routine processed it.
We will publish statistics when avalible - after the script runs.

Please stop any accusations and threats against Kenneth Bjørke - he is just hosting the web servers.
The hosting of coinmarket.io by Kenneth will be terminated when the dust settles and all possible withdrawals are processed.

We will be posting lists of withdrawals that got fixed.
We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused to you.
More detailed information coming after the automatic process runs.

KEEP this in the last post people.

FYI coinmarket.io is live right now (trading still on hold).

The link I dropped earlier allows you to put an email address in to be notified when it is up.

New New York based exchange says they might trade altcoins, maybe a good opportunity to reach out?

Yup, I'm gonna trust this place.

That's true, but these regulations/licensing requirements beginning to take over crypto are the reason coins that make the ridiculous claim they are delivering a fiat exchange within weeks are false, the reason CoinPayments almost shut down, etc etc. Of course the government doesn't officially back them, but it still costs a lot of time and money to register and comply - reporting financials, large trades, $10,000+ fiat movements, laundering watch/reporting etc. etc. Only entities like this that have the time and finances to properly register will survive in the years (months?) to come.. at least in the US (other countries to follow I'm sure).

DAMN board! Gateway error after typing a friggin paragraph.

Summery. It's not hard or expensive to get MSB registration. So don't think just because they are on the list your automatically safe from them stealing your coins.

Trust is earned. Just because they filled out the forms doesn't earn them any trust. And the way they are going around bashing other exchanges makes me suspicious.

Why do people send money/coins to these anonymous exchanges???  Please do some research on any entity that you will be sending coins to.. especially exchanges.   No contact info and no verifiable company should be HUGE red flags.

Here's what a trustworthy exchange looks like.  Notice the FINCEN license, Business License, Contact info.
https://www.atomic-trade.com/about

Stop pushing this shit. FINCEN is no indication of government endorsement it says so right on their site so push your fud somewhere else or I'm gonna start calling you boys out in your thread.

And I have no affil with ANY exchanges.

I have high hopes for AGX, they've approached this scene and us very professionally. Also 'Austin Global is registered and compliant with the United States Bank Secrecy Act, FinCEN BSA ID 31000041189994' speaks volumes.
I was a little skeptical that they had actually registered, but I just looked it up and they really are in the database!

http://www.fincen.gov/financial_institutions/msb/msbstateselector.html - search '31000041189994'

Correct me if I'm wrong but this is the registration that is expensive (required each state?) and means serious business, yes?

WE've hit 2 blocks in 2 days in the new LTC Pool. We Need more Hash.

2 in 2 days is great but alot of hash is leaving.

Advertise to shitcoin pools and get us some hash or this pool will fail.

I'll wait 1 more day before moving on and if it goes below 100mh then it's a lost cause.

13618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Undervalued coins on: March 08, 2014, 07:38:54 PM
The whole market is undervalued probably because of all the new coins diluting the capital supply. As well, the price of btc is ofcourse, a driving factor in all this.

Yet based on supply and demand, market cap, market trends, community, daily maintenance cost and price, I would suggest these are especially low...

Many of the above will benefit from the fact that it takes very little money on a daily basis to maintain the current price. Some are ridiculously low, like OSC, QRK, DVC. Even small additions of capital will make these rise.

F.I.C.A (Fairness In Conversation Act): I own mostly BTC and LTE and three of the coins I listed above.

So anyone that listens to this guy with this being his first post is a moron.

Yes because if I don't spend 15 hours a day posting on here, I must not be legit. Posting is a waste of time because then I have to waste more time dealing with clowns such as you. You've proven me right.

I tried to offer something constructive, your response is not. It is clueless, you know NOTHING about me.

Funny you just did what you said you won't do. Another Lie in 2 posts. Bravo.

No problem.  I have lost about $8,000 USD in EAC I purchased at way higher prices hehe.  No harm no foul, it is all a learning experience for the ENTIRE community but I am still here an so is Norb and we simply have a passion to create something that's all....

I for one would like you to prove this. It would bring me back to this coin and I'm sure quite a few others. It would also instill the belief that your hard earned money is invested and therefore your heart is as well. Also If one Dev ran off with half the pre-mine why didn't you notify the community instead of hiding it? It always looks worse when you try a cover up. Do you not know this?

I personally quit on this coin what seems like a long time ago post 100sat but have stayed pretty up to speed on this thread hoping for answers and a rebound. I didn't waste my time in the irc as I no longer hold. So everything I learn is from this thread. Please post the IRC chatlog and Link in the OP. Under the heading Q&A sessions would be a correct category I think.

Also I have been advised to be a little more compassionate with respect to my temperment on these boards.  I am a tough love kind of fella by nature.  I despise cry babies.  If my arm got cut off on a train track, I would pick it up and try to walk to the nearest hospital to see if they could sew it back on!  I would not WHIMPER OR COMPLAIN!  I would try to FIX IT!...

FYI I walked a Mile with my arm out of my socket on my ribs. So Feel free to dish it with me and I will do the same. I actually like your "Rants" it shows your heart is in it.
