13621  Other / Meta / Re: End the negative appearance of Bitcoin and BitcoinTalk. on: October 28, 2015, 05:40:06 AM
No matter what anybody else says, this forum is still the best source for quick answers to many of your questions. It has a huge user base and you get lots of different answers to the same question. There are some people who broke away from this forum, to join the XT crowd, but they keep coming back for more to this forum.

Politics and power struggles is part of this scenario and you find it in any group, so it is no different here.
13622  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WoW - Roger Ver Hosting Largest Bitcoin AMA Ever at bitcoin.com on: October 27, 2015, 12:49:44 PM
So do we have a official XT supporter list there, or are they just there for the money? Sorry to see Andreas on the list, because I thought he would not chose sides in this whole thing. He is doing his thing on Twitter. Oh well, let's just see this as another bonus for Bitcoin users to improve the scene.

I will pop in and see if I can get a question or two in there.  Roll Eyes
13623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the point of Circle, Bitpay and so on? on: October 27, 2015, 11:01:37 AM
They are the bridge between Bitcoin being legal and Bitcoin not being legal in some countries. Take the USA for example, IF you adhere to all the AML/KYC regulations, and these companies have to, then they accept it as being legal. <The unofficial version> These companies put the <legal> back in Bitcoin and they also bring the centralization back to make sure the NSA can track all the information they need from one location. ^joking^

No, let's be honest <They make Bitcoin idiot proof> Uhmmm User-friendly.  ^hmf^
13624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a payment option, especially for the adult and entertainment industry on: October 27, 2015, 09:47:24 AM
Look, I will give you just one example. Look at the mess with the Ashley Madison. Imagine if their users had an opportunity to pay in Bitcoin by staying anonymous or even semi-anonymous. I am sure many of them would choose this option.

Bitcoin can have many use cases like this one in the adult and porn industry, meeting and dating websites, etc. And I am sure it will have after the Ashley  hack.

The question is, Will Bitcoin give them more anonymity? If the user go through a 3rd party payment processor, he is still doing the same thing he would have been doing, using a credit card for payment. Bitcoin is only pseudo-anonymous, if you use it in the correct manner.

It still gives you the better option, if you do some home work. ^hmf^
13625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to the original Satoshi account on here? on: October 27, 2015, 08:52:25 AM
I think my first question would be, Why did you abandon your experiment? The second question would be, Can or will you ever spend your hoarded coins? That would answer some important questions for many people in this community. If I am allowed a third question, it would be < How do we stop the banks from stealing your technology? >
13626  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-10-25]Bitcoin Groups and Law Enforcement Unite to Form Blockchain Alliance on: October 26, 2015, 06:10:58 AM
I also think initiatives like this must be supported to clean up the Bitcoin reputation. I know Andreas is totally against this for some reason, but I for one is sick of all the scandals and crime being done with Bitcoin. It just cancel all the positive things being done in this community.

Let's just support it, and get rid of most of the bad elements tainting our community.
13627  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-10-25] Reality Check: Bitcoin Plays A Bit Role In Terror Financing on: October 26, 2015, 06:06:14 AM
They also want to ban all diamonds and gold exchange, because these nations use that as a primary method to pay for terrorism activities. ^joking^
You cannot help to laugh at these people, when they are trying so hard to discredit Bitcoin in the media.

I will never buy gold or diamonds again, because it funds terrorism. ^LoL^
13628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China (Unofficially) Authorizes Bitcoin! on: October 26, 2015, 05:59:33 AM
I think it is just some speculators pumping the price, I have not seen any official news about this. China has been hot and cold about this subject and it would be great if they can finally make a positive decision about this. Let's just wait for some official announcement, before we jump with joy.  Roll Eyes
13629  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: World's First School to Issue Academic Certificates via Bitcoin Blockchain on: October 26, 2015, 05:51:04 AM
It is great to see the blockchain being used for other application now, and not just the currency token. The validation of these certificates on the blockchain would help with fraudulent CV's being submitted for job openings.
It gives other potential applicants with valid qualifications a fair chance, to get the job.
13630  Other / Off-topic / Re: CCCB declares Singapore a Terrorist Fiat State on: October 26, 2015, 05:36:10 AM
Where do you get that information from or are you just trolling? It would be better if you post a source and also
explain how not traveling there, would help with the situation? Tourism is the life blood of struggling economies and you would hurt the citizens more by doing this.

The government will not be affected at all.  Shocked
13631  Economy / Economics / Re: Who is a Bitcoin whale? on: October 23, 2015, 06:55:58 AM
It will change a lot thought time since yo uhave to consider the current price. In the future, anyone holding something like 21 BTC may have a decent impact on the market, as of right now while we are still on the early stages, here is how I see it at the current prize:

100 BTC: shark
1000 BTC: small whale
10000 BTC: medium whale
100000 BTC: big whale
1000000 BTC: satoshi

Ok, so then this will be the visualization for the bottom feeders like most of us. ^joke^

1   BTC: Plankton
10 BTC: Krill
20 BTC: Shrimps
50 BTC: Squid
80 BTC: Sardines

They feed the sharks and the whales ^LoL^ and there are millions of them out there. We form a important link in the food chain for the whales to survive.

I am one of those Remora fish, swimming with the sharks. I eat the leftovers after they have fed and I keep them clean and healthy.  http://www.lightandsea.com/Tiger%20beach,%20Bahamas/hi-res/lemon%20shark%20and%20remoras%20fish.jpg

13632  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-10-22] Sweden to Become World’s First Cashless Country on: October 23, 2015, 06:26:47 AM
It will be difficult to apply this model to developing countries due to the network infrastructure limitations. The prices for mobile phones <smart phones> will have to come down to fill that gap. We have already seen how M-Pesa and Bitpesa have taken off in Africa.

To be honest, I cannot see how banks can make a decision to stop accepting cash.  Huh
13633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cool Bitcoin projects for charity - Add to the list please. on: October 23, 2015, 06:15:46 AM
I like the bucket idea and the remote interface with the donations being done. I used to donate to Sean's Outpost directly, but this is a lot more fun. They should show this from more angles, I want to see where the water goes after it was dumped?

I must say, people are very creative and this is one of those ideas that blow your mind. ^hmf^
13634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin impacts? on: October 23, 2015, 06:05:45 AM
I think for me it would be easier distribution of wealth through micro payments and also the innovation it brought to the stagnated financial system. We are now seeing lots more innovation in the financial sector, to keep up with the benchmark Bitcoin has set.

It is the revolution age of finance and innovation that goes with that.  Grin
13635  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How I Make $5,234Month With Bitcoin - No Trading & Mining on: October 23, 2015, 05:59:03 AM
If you really earned 5k a month, loads of people would have had testimonials about this. You would also see lots more response on this thread. Some of the signature participants would have signed up for that, and would have reported in this forum about it.

It is the classic case, where one person made a success of something and then sell that concept to other people to make more money, knowing most would fail, but they still try.
13636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS BETTER THAN WESTERN UNION ? on: October 22, 2015, 06:21:45 AM
Funny story about this actually, my brother has a friend who has relatives in those oil countries with big fiat wallets. But the problem was that he kept complaining that WU would take fucking 15-20% off the total amount for the transfer, imagine sending someone 5000€ and all they get it 4250 and that's just their regular 15% fee. Holy shit that's a lot, how the fuck is that shit still in business in the year 2015.

It's sad tbh, I read an article on reddit a long time ago as well that explained how over 60 billion dollars are sent into Africa each year by normal people who want to send money to relatives, etc since they are working outside the continent. And the biggest problem there was that WU and other similar companies were making billions on fee's from those poor souls. Bitcoin would eliminate all that cancer and I'm sure the Gates Foundation was working on some exchanges in Africa to help people use bitcoin as a sending method of wealth with low fee's even thought he receivers or senders don't know how it works or what it is.

This is not such a big problem in some countries in Africa anymore, since they started to use this https://www.bitpesa.co/faq

They have been using a digital mobile payment system called M-pesa for years now, and it has grown significantly. Bitpesa just linked onto that to enable people to accept international payments and to convert it to local currencies including M-pesa.

They are giving WU a run for their money in these countries and competition is always a good thing to disrupt the big corporate companies with their monopolies.
13637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Bitcoin was a worst decision of my life on: October 22, 2015, 06:05:40 AM
I had bought some btc this year ,invested roi and converted into fiat, soo now ahead i collect my bitcoin from signatures and some others places, and i invest them all ,this wont make me rich but at the moment is the easy way to get an income without clicking ads, surfing websites or give my money to hyip admin soo bitcoin is changing my life to better these days.

Planning to buy a new gpu for my rig so that I can mine altcoins better then exchange to bitcoins after. Bitcoin has definitely changed my life for the better, and I don't think that I would be better off without bitcoin, seeing that it has given me a lot of opportunities.

I wonder still people are ready to investing in making mining rigs. But that's the great effort if you can manage with electricity costs and other maintenance costs like pool fees. Long back itself I stopped mining and still my GPU sleeping in my racks.

Bitcoin has in many ways turned into a part-time hobby for me. You started out with GPU mining and you spend hours to perfect the rig and the cooling systems to maximize the profits. Then ASIC's came in and you had to start from scratch.

Most of this including cloud mining never returned your investment, but you kept on trying for that big break. It turned out to be a great hobby and a good story to tell. The experience is worth the ride.  Cool
13638  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: cash remains the only option if there's an emergency on: October 22, 2015, 05:55:56 AM
Zombie Apocalypse!!! We need some ZCoins bhahahahha.
Truth is , if there is a world wide emergency, cash will be totally useless, and so will bitcoin be. The only things with value are gonna be the things u need the most to survive. If u survive that is.

Same thing will happen if WW3 erupts, cash will have no value and precious items will be more valuable like like food and water. Same when calamity strikes, cash ill be useless as there's no store open to sell to you.

If WW3 start, we will be wiped out. There are enough nuclear weapons on this earth to destroy every country situated anywhere on this planet. So to think that fiat currency will be better than digital currencies, will not matter in any event like this.

We will not be here to use either fiat or Crypto currencies after WW3. ^hmf^
13639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Noob Mistakes on: October 22, 2015, 05:48:20 AM
The same goes for people thinking terrorists only use Bitcoin to buy guns and ammo. I have heard most armaments are bought with jewels like diamonds and precious gem stones. A small quantity of jewels can easily be smuggled or worn and taken out of the country, in exchange for payment.

Will they then ban jewelry too, because it is used to buy weapons for terrorists?

Bitcoin Whale: Have 100,000 BTC + holdings

Bitcoin Mini Whale, Dolphin whatever LOL: Have 20,000 BTC + holdings.
I'm wondering how many wallets there are with more than 100k Bitcoins.

bitcoinrichlist is taking down unfortunately, but i was aware about at least 10 of them, if this changed recently, i don't know, but it was not sure if those belong to one single different entity or a group or something else

Most of the whale bitcoin addresses are from early adopters. So my guessing on bitcoin whales must be only very few people who got chances to get bitcoin in it's early stages. Later people might have hesitated to invest into bitcoin. So, there is a less possible for whales who bought bitcoins.

Anyone can become a Bitcoin Whale, if they buy a large quantity of Bitcoins. You do not have to be a early adopter to qualify as a Bitcoin whale. There might even be wealthy business people, who came in late and operated successful businesses. < Patrick Burn or some of the online gambling operation >

Early adoption does not make you a whale, some of those people already spend most of those coins on Lambo's and ladies. ^hmf^
