Would you please stop flooding this thread by useless and meaningless newbie questions that is completely unrelated to devcoin ?! it is a devcoin thread not pastbin or q&a for anything or bitcointalk help thread !

I check this thread from time to time but found all these long or short posts, and have to read through them all incase i do not miss any important news or progress. it's very annoying.

Maybe you're not aware of this but devcoin has a design a new contest and there is no special thread for it and they haven't even gotten 15 coins submitted yet because I think most don't know about it.

So I think talking about any new coins people are putting up or answering questions are not newbie junk but important.  afterall, the new coin which wins the contest will be the face of devcoin.  devcoin is a coin, a digital coin, it is what it is, what it sells and what it stands for.

Quite relevant.

FYI, I am changing the permissions for the writers to be capable of uploading for now. I will be watching this closely so that abuse does not begin. Please do not upload massive images, crop them first. If it gets abused by anyone I will have to change it back.

Are you talking about uploading to bitcointalk or to devtome?

Thanks, I just learned how to cut down the image.  Please remove the really big ones, they annoy me let alone everyone else.  Sorry and thanks.

And I'll stop posting images of my coin.  I just wanted some feedback and perhaps inspire others to make something totally different than what the other coins have but got a bit carried away joking around.

devcoin is so undervalued.

Especially now that it has my awesome GIANT coin.  ahahaaaa.

But seriously, it truly is.  it's the only coin with an actual business plan.  it's a hybrid and I think it will prove to not only be sustainable but self sufficient and self perpetuating as its employees are also its shareholders.  It's like a star ready to go SUPERNOVA.

And speaking of perpetuating and propagating:

lol...

I think smaller looks even better.  Besides, smaller is how people will see these coins so it has to look better smaller not bigger anyway.

But  I gotta find a more golden IC die for the background so it has a gold appeal which people perceive as valuable regardless if they want to or not.

And of course I gotta replace the top symbol and add the new one I'm working on which has d, V and C incorporated in it.

it's only 720K, isn't that small.  how can I shrink this thing cause it's actually hideous when it's this big.

Let's see if this works.  I put the image file from my computer's drive C inbetween the img/img thing option.

Use imgur to host the image then link it directly from there, instead your trying to link it from your computer that will not work "http://C:\Users\Vlad\Desktop\Coin II.JPG" << will not work.

Use imagur to host the image?  You might as well have written that in german cause I have no idea what that means.  In much less time I'll post it to my facebook profile.

I think I'll just do that and then someone with priviledge to post it on this thread can copy it and post it for me.  thanks

OMG do you ever use the internet, http://imgur.com if you can upload to facebook you can upload to imgur, then use link and post it here.

What?  I realize you computer literate guys may think this is a joke or that I'm messing with you but I seriously have no idea what you're telling me to do.  And rather than go research what imagur means, where it is and how to use it and spend 2 hours doing that I just posted it on facebook.  thanks though anyway guys.
"http://C:\Users\Vlad\Desktop\Coin II.JPG" <-- ROFL hi winvista/win7/win8 english edition guy!

If the link doesn't work then look up Maximillian Wilhelm (Max is with 2 LL's).  thanks

Post them on this page

Please upload all your logos to this page and also please add the new rating tags so people can vote on the logo.

I just went there and there's no way to upload the image from my computer.

All the images there are just links to bitcontalk and I can't upload an image anywhere here, not even on my profile.  It should be this confusing and difficult to post a small 720k pic.

maybe I'll post it on facebook and link it there but I really rather not do that.
13654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin on: May 20, 2013, 02:12:40 AM
If a mod with the clearance can go in my profile and see if they can get my  image to show up.  I tried twice clicking on browse, chose the image off my desktop which is just 720kb and then hit change profile.

So I'm not sure why it's not showing up unless i'm not cleared to put up a pic.

Please help if you can.  You have my permission to do whatever it takes including jacking with my profile.  thanks.

I think it's this one?
If not, sorry for posting my logo here:

vector files available if anyone interested.

I think I see how you posted this image.  I'm gonna try with my coin.

is this your coin design?

if so just something I noticed right away.  You have D inside a circle with a line through it.  In math that means Null (I believe, it's been over 20 years) which also stands for empty set or no value or undertermined.  I don't know, even a subconscious probability would cause me to alter such a design.  good luck.
13657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin on: May 20, 2013, 02:04:18 AM
Can somebody with a higher level who can post images on this site shoot me an email address so I can send you this devcoin design and then you can post it on here?  This is for the betterment of devcoin, even if I don't win, my design may spark a better design idea in somebody's else's mind so either way I look at it it's good for devcoin.

I don't care as much as winning the 4 shares as I do about having devcoin have the best and meaningful coin image out there.

At this point and for time to come the biggest thing that will make someone pic this coin over another when it comes to buying is the name and image of the coin since there's not much else to go on like a business plan one evaluates when buying stock.  I think that's the reason namecoin shot up 1,000 fold right after bitcoin, people were looking for another cheaper coin and for some reason they all chose the same one and I think it was because the name itself, namecoin is personalized and people associated with it so it paid off for namecoin cause it's now a $1 coin instead of a $.001 coin.

So the image of the coin devcoin chooses is much more important than many realize so let's work together on getting the best coin design improved and chosen.  I'm willing to put my coin up before it's done risking someone copying various aspects or one-upping me but that's fine if it means devcoin will, in the end, have a better coin which will then greatly benefit all of us.
13658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin on: May 20, 2013, 01:58:10 AM
Great, the image on my profile is not showing.  What's the deal, I cropped it down to 720kb, that's really small for an image with details.

Any advice, please, I don't think I can just upload it on here in a post.  My level isn't high enough I don't think.
13659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin on: May 20, 2013, 01:55:08 AM
I just added (I think) an image of my coin design for the devcoin contest.

The image on the front of the coin I will replace because I didn't know it belongs to someone (halo) but the backdrop will remain only I will probably find a "golder" IC (integrated chip) so the coin will have a more golden look which I think looks nicer and also gives a move valuable subconscious look and feel.

My intention was to have something different from anything else out there.  I hate seeing each coin copy each other and the dollar.

I also wanted everything about the coin to have a meaning, not just something thrown around.

a) The backdrop is an IC in the wafer form and some are more golden than others.  It stands for a digital age, digital money and most people will recognize this immediately and automatically associate this chip with a digital chip unlike every other digital coin I've ever seen.

b)  The forefront is an entire city (microcity) which symbolizes the meshing together of society and digital money and a new era for both, money and the way it's used and people and society and how they will both become merged, and it is my belief that money and man will eventually, perhaps in just a matter of years, merge physically via a chip, so then this coin will actually predict the future in an artistic manner.

c)  The emblem on the front I'll remove and replace it with one I'm working on which will artistically include the letters d, V and C although not just simply written DVC.

d)  The 7 crowns of the heptagram also have  meaning - they stand for all the kingdoms of all 7 continents.  The 7 colors of the 7 crows include the entire rainbow - something recognized and often revered in most if not all societies, and I really liked the fact that the entire rainbow (roy-g-biv) fit inside the design of this coin, inside its 7 crowns which also symbolizes all of the colors and races on all 7 continents - so then, at a glance a person seeing this coin should get a feeling that this coin is also personalized and it includes and represents, to some degree, him and his nation.  On a side note, gay people have hijacked the rainbow and all its splendor - well, great for them but this rainbow has a bigger and deeper meaning than that and I never did let other people's actions stop me from believing and doing what I believe, but on the bright side, this coin also then, by coin-incidence (lol) represents all the various walks of mankind, including the millions of gay people around the world and when these millions of gay people look at investing in a digital coin I'm sure that rainbow is gonna pop out and give them a feeling of open mindedness and understanding, well, unless they read this text first.  lol

e)  The Final thing will be some latin inscriptions to give it more meaning and an identity, a global identity as latin is the global language of law, science, and medicine.

Devcoin is a company, an idea for the masses created, propagated and being made success by the masses and this design was made by me to symbolize that and a good design is one which tells a story at a glance and stands for what you stand for and what you're trying to sell.  Well, this then, is a digital crypto-coin, created for the coming crypto [currency] revolution, which in time prove to be one of the most revolutionary products ever invented my man which will lead to a massive sea of change across all industries, government and countries and will people into a new era, the true digital era.

All criticisms and advice are welcome, this is the main reason I put it up early before even submitting it.  Thanks in advance.

regards,

Vlad

Hello, everyone, due to heavy load of faucet, ripple gateway and block explorer these days, I recently upgraded the sever running http://d.evco.in/ from a linode 1024 to 2048, that is, now we have 2G ram (and 20GB more disk space) that can run more *coind and apache process, so more people could be served at the same time now, cheers Smiley

your server has 2 gigs of ram total or you added 2 gigs of ram?  Sorry, but I thought we were now in the 16 gigs and higher computers.  Can you comment on the ripple advertisement I saw today, a big read ad which said ripple lied to you, ripple is a scam?  I'm a bit worried cause I downloaded ripple on both computers and gave them my email too.  Thanks
