13661  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HashOcean disapeared and scammed 700,000 users ? ! on: June 30, 2016, 05:07:02 PM
I assume there are known HashOcean BTC addresses. All they have to do is sign one and link it to one of the billions of facebook accounts out there if they really are making a comeback.

I allready asked this twice a few months ago. Answer then was twice: no. I won't ask a third time. I gues they will reconsider soon without somebody asking ...

They had absolutely no reason to consider it at the time. There are plenty of coins which had similar or better volumes.

If the present volume levels are here to stay, and I've no idea if it will, then they won't need to be asked.

I would've liked to have done the same but everyone's a trading hero in retrospect.

If anyone was watching the trollbox yesterday, there were a bunch of people spreading FUD to pull the price down. Weak hands sold off.
Once their xem bag was full, the trolls went quiet.
Very interesting.......

It makes me feel like a father hearing his daughter getting fucked through the bedroom wall watching all the childish pumping and screaming. I suppose it's a badge of honour of a sort.

If the value continues to rise is there some sort of dynamic fee adjustment?

NXT ae prices were pretty respectable. Stakes cost about 3-4 BTC if I remember rightly. Not a bad return but obviously not so great now. Pity those who sold in the sub 100 range.

Why should that be surprising? The rise was bonkers and nothing like that can possibly sustain. Let's wait and see where it settles. People have astoundingly short memories.

The mods decided not to let new arrivals post images due to multiple cheekiness in the past.

Have yourself a quote so the lazy creeps amongst us don't have to click any further.

Nothing much happens price wise without 'leeches'. And it looks like hordes of them have descended anyway. Really intrigued to see whether they'll stick around.

Whoever didn't see an astonishingly juicy drop coming needs slapping upside the head. I'll be very interested to see what happens to the volume. In the past it's nudged over 1000 and fallen back to 50 or less.
13671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China to make Bitcoin (virtual properties) a civil right. on: June 29, 2016, 10:29:55 AM
What transaction volume? It's either going to or leaving an exchange and that's about it. There are virtually no nodes there compared to the West.
13672  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ethereum down, Bitcoin up on: June 29, 2016, 02:11:41 AM
A quim is the sinful part of a lady's toilet area. Luckily I shy away from such things these days. Anyway let's not distract those who wish to gloat over ETH.
13673  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ethereum down, Bitcoin up on: June 29, 2016, 12:31:41 AM
Quim punching is something of a family tradition. It's the only way we have of expressing affection even when some of us aren't quim owners.
13674  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ethereum down, Bitcoin up on: June 28, 2016, 10:04:35 PM
I'd feel bad for anyone who lost out if ETH really did falter properly but it's a salutary lesson in not running before you can walk.

I know Core types get lots of stick for being conservative among many other things but here's the reason why.
13675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Nem growing so fast? on: June 28, 2016, 09:56:25 PM

Instead they add all these crazy features and whistles but the average individual can't even get a wallet to start.

Maybe it's just me but I find the NEM wallet a major pain up the arse to operate. All sorts of clacking and whirring and things stopping and starting. I'll happily switch to a lightweight wallet when it's widespread.
13676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many of you use Bitcoin for Flight Purchases? on: June 28, 2016, 09:52:12 PM

My answer is never because very rarely to finding the store accepted payments ticket with bitcoin. but in my country, a lot of travel company is accepted bitcoin payments but I never try this because I worry about it.

I think you're right to. Expedia is a no brainer.

Some site linked to a price scraper feeding you lovely prices and then presenting you with a QR code needs some due diligence. Any old asshole could be running it.
13677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: June 28, 2016, 09:50:00 PM

As long as it grows at least 10 percent a day I won't be moving by daytrading Bitcoins out of it for awhile.

10 per cent a day doesn't smell like a sustainable idea worth betting the farm on. It lost nearly 1000 satoshis today while I was busy reading an article or two.
13678  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: June 28, 2016, 09:35:48 PM
If it gets listed on Zaif expect 10k-12k floors

They have such big volumes or what ?

https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/zaif/

Not gargantuan but respectable. I've no idea what monacoin is. I don't see why adding it would be so huge but perhaps there's pent up desire out there somewhere.
13679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Nem growing so fast? on: June 28, 2016, 09:22:10 PM
I do not have a clue.
13680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: June 28, 2016, 09:21:01 PM

There's tons of lousy coins on exchanges now that have small marketcaps and less than 500k volume.. this is so unusual.

Indeed. But the NEM team really hit it out of the park to get onto the best alt exchanges at the beginning.

Japan aside, what would really drive things to another level would be GDAX, Bitfinex and Gemini. Those places would want some extended track record before considering it. There are other coins that have had some insane volumes too but only ETH caught enough of their attention recently and it had to become a juggernaut to do it.
