1381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: July 14, 2023, 07:27:21 AM
I hope you are not serious when you use arguments such as Zukerbergs has now two medals from bjj tournament and Musk is a black belt in bjj. What was that bjj tournament? Tournament for white belts in Silicon valley? Beaten some IT nerds and now everything thinks he is good at bjj. And all of a sudden Musk has a black belt. Who gave him that? Seems to me the photo that was featured here was just a nice photo for article. Besides, having a black belt does not mean its owner has special skills. For example UFC is full of bjj black belt owners, but failed to defend against blue or purple Cheesy
Fake medals and freely awarded belts. Maybe the contestant was their staff. I wonder which employee will beat up his employer in such competition. The instruction is clear "Beat your boss and lose your job". The fighting skills of both Elon and Mark are highly overestimated. This fight is taking too much time to happen. If it is real, let's have the time and we need to start buying tickets. It is just a social media cage fight and a publicity stunt. Mark just lunch a new social media platform Threads and Elon has just established an artificial intelligence firm xAI. These rich folks are using this fight to attract attention to their startups.
1382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Where to invest 7k usdt on: July 14, 2023, 06:24:21 AM
Where to invest 7k usdt

To get profit daily 30$
It all depends on the level of risk you are willing to take. The higher the risk, the greater the profit, and the lower the risk, the lesser the profit. If you want to invest in a stable and reliable sector, take your eyes off your daily profit maximization. No crypto investment will guarantee a fixed daily profit. Most of these investment scheme that promises fixed returns are not reliable. If you want to be sure of the safety of your investment invest in bitcoin. It may not promise to give you daily returns but at least you are sure that your money is safe. You can be fortunate to make more profits in a few years. But if you have the guts to take risks and you wouldn't mind losing all your money, consider some cheap altcoins. They can give high returns but they also have the highest tendency of disappearing from the crypto space.

if you want daily profit, I think you can stake money on a platform that has a good reputation. but for that kind of return every day, I doubt anyone will actually give it to you. if there is a possibility it is a scam site. be careful choosing the platform where you will put your money.
if my advice, invest in Bitcoin. but don't expect daily profits that you can enjoy or count. buy Bitcoin and hold it for a long time. wait for the momentum of the bull to come and you will benefit.
From experience, I am not sure any centralized crypto platforms can be trusted. And reputation is also subjective because there are no generally acceptable means of identifying a reputable organization. We have seen some well-known and respected crypto firms collapse without notice. Some of them engage in secret shady deals that gradually effect the firm.

1385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: July 12, 2023, 05:23:28 PM
There is a bit of a problem with that logic though, we are talking about something that would be seriously skewed to one direction and unfortunately fail at the same time as well. I am not saying Zidane is bad or anything of course, Zidane is great, but he had 3 years and 3 ucl's and because of that everyone thinks he is all-time worthy manager. Give him 10-15 more years as a manager and see how he does before we can judge him.

Louis Enrique definitely managed his fair share of players and teams which I believe that would be a bit of a trouble, but looking into the current situation I would say that the best thing about him is that at least he has experience, Zidane doesn't have that and that's the difference between them.
Let's assume that Zidane was lucky to have achieved more in a few years but football is all about trophies and not years of experience. It will be nice if Zidane moves to another club to prove his worth. We don't have the potency of predicting the future so we don't know how the Frenchman's coaching career will turn out in a few years to come. But for now, Zidane is one of the most highly respected coaches in the world.

I am very confident that Enrique will manage the PSG team effectively because of his wealth of experience. He would be able to command the respect of the PSG player better than Christophe Galtier. I assume that the rumor of indiscipline and conflict between most top PSG players was a result of his inability to control the big names. Concerning Mbappe the club has made their position clear, let him sign a new contract or consider moving out of the team. The club is willing to sell him to any club that can pay his €200m price tag. But clubs are also scared by his high wage.
1386  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Before contributing, learn from others as a newbie on: July 12, 2023, 04:28:33 PM
If you come across posts you are not acquainted with, learn from the posts and the replies, it isn't a must for you to write something that will end up annoying others or see you as spammer.

Learning first, build our experience.  Your motor as a newbie should be learn first and every other things will follow and be added unto you.
There are times you will spend so much time reading posts in the forum and doing research and at the end, you will have nothing to add. I don't see it as a waste of time because I learned something new. Most times my replies are inspired by some of the posts I have read and assimilated. We know newbies want to rank up in activities but it is better to keep quiet if you have nothing to say. It is better not to post anything than to give unacceptable information and receive a strong negative response from the community. Regarding merit, I think if newbies keep posting for merit, they might become frustrated and even abandon the forum if they didn't get merits. Merit will come naturally if you gain knowledge and give positive contributions.
1387  Economy / Economics / Re: Always ask for POD form from your bank on: July 12, 2023, 03:51:10 PM
I just learned about this important bank document from this post. It is similar to a an individual's will. I think it is a very vital document to keep because death is unpredictable. At least the beneficiaries will be free from legal dramas that happen after the death of an account holder. But the main beneficiary of the fund should be a trusted individual because it could trigger greed.

Stealing of the banks' savings or deposits of dead customers is becoming rampant. There have been issues of criminal bankers fraudulently withdrawing funds from the account immediately after they get the information that the client is late. I know it is very difficult to trust people but somebody needs to be aware of your financial standings and other vital information to reduce this kind of incident.
1388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My story about bitcoin and my old friend. on: July 12, 2023, 03:22:10 PM
Do you have the same story, I mean a close person, relative or friend who used to dislike bitcoin, and they became regretful after seeing a significant change after meeting again.
I don't have the proof you have so nobody wants to be like me. Maybe in the future when I have made some money from bitcoin and own a house and a car just like you, many people that feel I am wasting my time investing in Bitcoin will rethink. I want to congratulate you for all you have achieved with bitcoin but a newbie might be misled by this story. These new members might assume that Bitcoin is a get-rich-quick investment. I am sure that some members of the forum have lost money investing in Bitcoin. So I would want you to inform your friend that there are risks in investing in the bitcoin industry so that he will be prepared for the worst.

I would say never to disclose your investments. Whether it's crypto or any sort of investment, it’s better to keep it within yourself. Moreover, if bitcoins or crypto is illegal in your country, then it’s better not to share with anyone regarding your crypto investment. I can understand the OP’s feelings about how he made his friend regret his decision, but to be honest, I won’t show off if I have made any profits from crypto. You did your part, OP, by informing your friend about crypto investments. Now he didn’t follow your advice, so it’s his fault. I hope your friend now understands the value of the coins.
Keeping your investment secret is important if you want to avoid criminals. There is no need to flaunt what you have achieved because even your close friends or relatives can't be trusted. To maintain privacy it is better to keep it on the low at all times because criminals are looking for signs that you have what they want.
1389  Economy / Economics / Re: Things you should know about Money mindset on: July 11, 2023, 10:58:02 AM
The world is filled with boundless opportunities that can make anyone live a comfortable life. One problem is to identify these opportunities because they usually don't look viable. People have failed to identify opportunities because they are expecting these opportunities to look like opportunities. They next level is to utilize these opportunities. Procrastination and excuses are always the main impediments to utilizing opportunities. Most people complain about the government, lack of finance, and others thereby missing out on an opportunity.

Learning a new skill can be a good means of gaining additional income. One can learn a highly needed skill which can lead to a change of job or a side job. These side jobs can complement your normal income and make you financially stable. Wasting money on pleasure or unnecessary activities will lead to financial problems. It will be better to invest the money in other profitable ventures. The world is going through a lot of economic problems there is a need to spend less and invest more.

But we should also note that it is not everybody that will be rich. Some people derive fulfillment from a low paying job and they are okay. They are not so much concerned about acquiring so much wealth but they just want to provide their basic needs and enjoy their jobs. Sometimes your passion might not necessarily lead to money-making, it could just be a source of fun, joy, and fulfillment. It might not also be out of place to monetize your skill but the focus should not always be to make money but to impact people's lives positively and derive fulfillment.
1390  Other / Meta / Re: Reserved Posts that didn't Used on: July 11, 2023, 10:16:32 AM
I just noticed some contests in the 'Service' section where some participants replied as 'reserved' but didn't post their entry or participate in the contest. I noticed this since I've been participating in some of those contests and waiting for their entries to compare my work to theirs and only to end up with nothing (LOL).

Here are some of the contests that have ended, but the reserved posts are still there and didn't use:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5450850.0;all
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5441776.0;all
When competition opens, there might be assumptions that early entries will get more attention. Some members feel that it's necessary to reserve the first page so that their entries will not be lost on page two and others. But this is not the case because the panel of judges will always scrutinize all the entries even if they are on the last page of the thread. There is no need to reserve these slots because participants can always post their entries when they are through with their work. This will help reduce the unnecessary reserved posts that litter some competition threads.
Quote
Aside from reporting it to the moderator, what else can we do?
But if you are too concerned about these reserved posts, it will not be out of place to send them a personal message. It would serve as a reminder for them to consider their post. Many of them might have forgotten that they made such reservations or they didn't meet up with the competition deadline.
1391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: July 11, 2023, 08:37:12 AM
Comparing Zinedine Zidane to Luis Enrique is not feasible because they are on very different paths. Luis Enrique has managed other clubs and set records, and he is currently the head coach at PSG; we await the stellar performance he will bring to his new club, while Zinedine Zidane has only explored Real Madrid, setting an incredible record in history by winning the UEFA Champions League three consecutive times in a row. However, he's yet to accept a new contract; clubs continue to approach him with offers, which he rejects; after stepping down as head coach at the Santiago Bernabeu, I believe he does not want to tarnish his previous reputation.
Luis Enrique is one of the most successful coaches in Europe. He has won La Liga, UEFA Super Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup, and the UEFA champions league. He is more experienced because he has coached for longer periods and moved to different clubs. Zinedine Zidane on the order hand is also a quality coach that has won many trophies within a short coaching career. He has won 3 Champions Leagues titles, 2 Club World Cups, 2 European Super Cups, 2 Spanish Leagues, and 2 Spanish Super Cups in 209 matches.
https://www.realmadrid.com/en/news/2020/07/17/zidane-has-won-11-titles-as-real-madrid-coach

Zidane is not always in a haste to take up a new coaching job. It seems he is more concerned about landing the French national team coaching job. This is because he has been linked to different quality clubs in Europe, yet he keeps turning them down. It was reported that Didier Deschamps will resigned after the World Cup in Qatar but it was surprising that he extended his contract to 2026. Maybe Zidane has decided to wait till Deschamps' contract expires.

1393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Motivating gambling addicts to invest in bitcoins. on: July 11, 2023, 07:15:08 AM
Nowadays many people in our country are addicted to gambling. I have seen many people losing their huge amount in most of the gambling games. If all those people can be informed about bitcoin, how to earn money in bitcoin? I think they would have invested in Bitcoin and they could have made money from it.Besides, if they can discuss about Bitcointalk in detail, then I think they will learn about Bitcointalk besides investing in Bitcoin. In this, the person addicted to gambling could stay away from gambling besides earning money.

One thing to remember, I'm not criticizing gambling. I'm just sharing my opinion. thank you
I don't think bitcoin is a good coin to gamble with. The price of Bitcoin is not volatile as other altcoins, so you might not make money within a short period. Gamblers are motivated by quick money and bitcoin hardly gives such an opportunity. To make money from bitcoin, you have to hold the coin for some time until the price goes up. Addiction is not good behavior, so I don't even encourage anyone to be addicted to even investing in bitcoin. Bitcointalk is a good place to get information about Bitcoin but you should also do your research from other sources.
Not just Bitcoin but also altcoins too, I am a gambler, I am into mostly Roulette and Slots but I have made much more money from altcoin investments between the 2022 bear market till now, and what I've made from gambling is not even close to half of what I've made from few altcoins so far, I think OP is right, if you can gamble with altcoins you will make more money than gambling but we all like having fun in different ways so I am in no way going to discourage anyone not to gamble, there is money in gambling too if you are lucky.
Even as an altcoin gambler, there should be self-control. Addiction to altcoin gambling will still not be good for his finance because he might not make investments decision based on knowledge but because of his uncontrollable drive to gamble. Buying and selling altcoin for profit might be better than gambling but it should be done moderately because too much of everything is bad. Advising Op to switch to altcoin is a good one but helping him to control his drive from quick money will be better.

1395  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Tornado cash and others mixers on: July 10, 2023, 09:59:33 AM
All mixers work the same way, why are some in the viewfinder and not others? How to know if the holders of such an address have committed illicit activities or not? Can the owner of the mixer know? Is its role to block addresses possible?
Your question is like asking why is the US government attacking only Binance and Coinbase. They can only sue a firm if they have evidence that they committed a crime. SEC is attacking these exchanges now because they have proof that Binance and Coinbase violated the financial laws of the US. Other exchanges might not be clean but the government has not gotten substantial evidence to come for them.

Generally, the US government has been hostile to crypto-related businesses, so this attack on Tornado Cash can be politically or economically motivated. Mixers are giving a worthy service to the crypto community but some criminals can also take advantage of it. After all government officials and others also use the banks to launder illegal funds to tax havens and shell companies.
1396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympic Games, but doping is allowed?! on: July 10, 2023, 08:36:12 AM
And people still think that the regular Olympics are free from drugs? C'mon man, the athletes still use performance enhancers, but they are smart enough to not get caught. The drugs are not only for D-day but also building their muscles and stuff.

https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/sports/beijing-winter-olympics/doping-at-the-olympics-the-most-infamous-cases/3546126/

I think this "enhanced game" won't yield good results in records since the best are competing in the regular Olympic games.
Sportsmen usually cheat the Olympic system by using indictable drugs to boost their performance. And this will give them an undue advantage over other athletes. These banned substances will be vital during long races or sports that need some form of endurance and strength. But this enhanced Olympics gives all the athletes the privilege of using these drugs which means that all of them will be on the same page.

But the consequences of this competition on the health of these participants should be considered. The organizers should be ready for drug overdoses that could lead to death during the competition. This competition can also promote the use of drugs in society. People especially the younger generation can become drug users because this competition promotes it. At this time when many nations are fighting the high rate of drug addiction, this competition should never happen. I am glad that the Australian Olympic Committee led by Matt Carroll has criticized this dangerous and destructive competition.
1397  Economy / Economics / Re: Agriculture can save your country from recession on: July 10, 2023, 07:56:52 AM
In the recent world, investing in Agriculture may be a way to save oneself from poverty and also relieve ones country from recession. Countries like China, India, Brazil and Indonesia have used agriculture to improve their economy in recent time. Almost all aspect of agriculture is profitable if done in the right way but some may be more profitable than others. This also depends on ones interest and ones country unless one plan to export its products. My choice of agriculture is vegetable plantation. Here is my tomato farm
Any country that can grow food that can feed its inhabitants will always have a favorable balance of payment in international trade. Most nations especially developing ones that rely on other countries for food will face economic problems if the economy is not well managed. Agriculture could also be used as a political or diplomatic tool to influence other countries. Some nations even use it as a weapon of war during conflicts. Investing in agriculture is a must for every country because it doesn't only bring monetary gains but it protects the nation.

Quote
Although I'm starting small but I have a great dream to feed the nation with my agro business.
Every big dream starts small. You can start locally and think globally. Use your current farm to gain all experience and exposure you need. Carry out any experiment using your crops that you can replicate it in a large scale.

Quote
CONCLUSION
Apart from this tomato farming, I still run a poultry and a piggery farm as part of my agro business. Agriculture is lucrative and comes with alot of opportunities for both youths and adults. Invest in one or more Agro business today and save the world from hunger as well as to rescue your country from recession.
I looked around your farm and I saw that people have started living around the environment. Integrated farming is a good one but you should also consider the environmental consequences of rearing animals around humans. The smell of poultry farms and piggery can be very annoying. Such farms can also lead to the outbreak of disease. Ensure you get all the necessary licenses from your country's health and agricultural government officials.
1398  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: LEARNING & RELEARNING; Account Integrity on: July 10, 2023, 07:10:58 AM
When I went through the thread OP referred us to, it was very funny. @HridoyHk_5  was part of the perceived problem he wants to solve. He intended to get some merits but he ended up getting enough bashing that kept him mum until the thread was locked. There is no need to claim who you are not because it will always lead to lying. And a lie will always need another lie to make it look legit. But I have learned that lies don't last, they will definitely be uncovered one day. Saying the truth might have some consequences but it also shows that you have a good reputation. Lying might look like a temporal solution but its negative consequences are long-lasting. It is always good to learn from people's pitfalls so that you will not make the same mistake.
1399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is actually a Bitcoin investor on: July 10, 2023, 06:31:04 AM
When someone has a particular wallet which he spends Bitcoins from can he be considered a Bitcoin investor?
Or does the term investor refer only to those who hodl Bitcoin?
An investor is anyone that puts in any factor of production in a business intending to make monetary or non-monetary returns. A bitcoin investor just like other investors can invest short-term, medium-term, or long-term based on their investment plans. Bitcoin traders are an example of short or medium-term investors while holders always have long-term plans.

It is good to differentiate the wallets that are used for daily transactions and the others that are used for holding your investment. Hot wallets will be suitable for daily transactions or trading while cold wallets will be suitable for holding Bitcoin for a long time. Cold wallets are not exposed to hacks like hot wallets.
1400  Other / Meta / Re: Forum having issues? on: July 09, 2023, 04:33:20 PM
What’s wrong with the forum. Posting a reply took a lot of time to load after clicking the post button. It always show Error 524 after waiting for the loading screen to finish. The post is successfuly posted even with the timeout error but still it's annoying to wait on this loading screen just to post a singe message.
Something is wrong that I can't explain. I had to delete two posts today because they appeared on the thread three times. Gradually I understood that one has to be patient with the bitcointalk site. And you don't have to repost even if it shows that an error occurred because in most cases it has been posted. I saw a post where a member was applying for a campaign and the application came three times. Now he has to wait for twenty-four hours to delete them. I keep wondering if there will ever be a lasting solution.
