So how much are you paying for electricity?

.05 kw/h

including delivery charge? might i ask where is it?

No delivery charge, but a handful of taxes on the bill that brings it between .05 and .06, as the tax type is variable, oddly enough. And yes, you may ask.  Wink

Can you tell me the state? whats up with the secrecy? I'm just curious about how energy price around the globe... not the specific location of the farm.
1382  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners. Shipping in 7 days!!! on: March 19, 2014, 06:12:51 PM
$5,360.00 .. including shipping for $365.00...DHL...7-10 days...I guess... Huh

Edit:  Shipping to Florida, USA...

Ouch. I can buy 8.7BTC right now (Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 4:24:16 PM UTC) for $5360 from Coinbase. Do you think this miner will generate more than 8.7? I don't.

Me either...I am not buying ...not NOW...blind trust can be very expensive... Wink

Compared with a 1TH (possibly clocking a bit higher?) Antminer at 5.7BTC, this product actually fits into a certain niche for investors who use server racks and are willing to pay a 10-20% premum to run the same hashrate in 2 rack units as bitmain would require 12 rack units for

Exactly. The density is insane, and I don't think "1.25U" does it justice. Its 5.5cm thick and 1100W, my MOUSE is thicker than that.

This is why i'm very skeptical of the specs and longevity
1383  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BioStar teases BTC-24GH Bitcoin hashing board on: March 19, 2014, 06:11:01 PM
With 50 of these boards you could get up to 1.2 TH/s hashrate which does not sound bad at all, if the price is right, however you would need 6500W of power so in terms of performance per watt the Biostar BTC-24GH won’t be interesting at all. As we’ve already said: too little, too late .

No way this board can be scaled up.

This is a terrible design. Just look at those power connector. Stupid engineering at its best.

Wow - the bundle was sold out in less then 12 hours since we launched!

Thank you for your confidence in us, we are (and will) work our butts off to justify it.

So I wanted to order from you (I'm in Israel) but it says you do not ship to Israel.. and now I missed the 1st batch.

Could you explain why can't I order to Israel ??

Because once you find out the miner cant meet the specs... they can be sued?
1387  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: March 19, 2014, 04:12:54 PM

here is my 2*5970 setup with open-air cool

Where?

1389  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Best PDU to break out a 30Amp 220V USA home circuit on: March 19, 2014, 06:51:25 AM
Here is a dumb question. I am running Antminers overclocked. And they keep tripping my 15a circuits with just 4.... They take around 425 watts each. Does a PDU allow you to somehow run more power on a circuit than if you were to run it straight through?

No.  But a 30A 240V circuit is going to have 4x the wattage of a 15A 120V one.

Yeah I assume installing that and running wire to a second story would be pretty dang expensive.

True hardcore miner would tell the wife to get rid of Dryer, saturate the Dryer line with rigs and maker her hanging clothes to dry (using heat from the rigs)

LOL  Grin someone must try this....
1390  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: BIOSTAR Ready to Launch Motherboards with Built-in ASICS – Great for Bitcoins on: March 19, 2014, 06:45:41 AM
To be fair, Biostar isn't exactly a big mobo manufacturer.  I think the last Biostar board I used had a socket for a 387SX...

Bigger than BFL i say.... lol... And that shitty company managed to have more than $50 Millions in revenue in 2013 alone.
1391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nakamoto in Denial on: March 19, 2014, 06:41:13 AM

Would like to hear what he has to say about it today.

He would say "I'm a dumb ass for not buying back then...I said i would look into it but that was just TV talk "

1393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nakamoto in Denial on: March 19, 2014, 04:02:44 AM
Why on earth does he want to cut his ties with Bitcoin? I don't get the problem...

Because the problem is you

What a fascinating exchange of emails. Seriously. I think Mircea Popescu handled it—on many levels—perfectly.

Ottawa bitcoin exchange defrauded of $100,000 in cyber currency

http://www.ottawacitizen.com/business/Ottawa+bitcoin+exchange+defrauded+cyber+currency/9628321/story.html

One thing keep in mind here is that the data centre that was breached was owned by Rogers. Rogers is well known in Canada for providing totally abysmal customer service for well over a quarter of a century. To quote from the article
Quote
David Girard, senior security adviser for Trend Micro Canada, said while many of the attacks against other exchanges have been sophisticated, the way that Canadian Bitcoin’s walletwas accessed shouldn’t have happened.

“The guy at the data centre should have figured out that he was being phished,” said Girard, referring to a method of prodding personal information from a target. “He does everything that the person (online) is asking without authenticating the person by having him tell him his secret password, reveal his identity or call him back on a list of users authorized to be called back. You need to have some way of authenticating when you work in a data centre.”

This kind of customer service is typical for Rogers. For example Rogers decided to ground a cable modem by drilling into a live gas line and then refused to do anything about it when advised of the problem. www.ihaterogers.ca

Edit: They also pick people basically at random and ruin their lives with bogus collection actions. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/rogers-bill-ruins-credit-rating-of-man-who-doesn-t-have-rogers-account-1.1959175

So in your country, who has the power to rewrite the rules for credit bureau?
1399  Bitcoin / Press / Re: A Guy Who Owns A Bitcoin-Only Electronics Store Is Revealing Everything On Reddi on: March 19, 2014, 01:04:09 AM
international business does currency exchange all the time. (Euro to USD...etc). I guess we should stop all those trades....

But EUR/USD rate is much more unlikely to have a sudden 20% drop (or rise) in value...

Seriously, how can any business reliably accept Bitcoin payments when prices can swing so wildly?

Wow..... Roll Eyes

My comment isnt about volatility of bitcoin.

But Its mocking at the idea of having BTC/USD exchange is bad.

They think Bitpay is harming BTC due to that.

1400  Bitcoin / Press / Re: A Guy Who Owns A Bitcoin-Only Electronics Store Is Revealing Everything On Reddi on: March 19, 2014, 12:43:07 AM

Nice! How come I never heard of this store? Been spending my coins in stupid BitPay crap!  Angry

Edit: oh it's BitPay....  Roll Eyes

whats so bad about bitpay?

People are under the misguided impression that when merchants exchange bitcoin for USD that that is somehow bad for bitcoin. They think that it results in a lot of selling off that lowers the price.

Comeon you ruined the fun.....  Angry

Also to add..... international business does currency exchange all the time. (Euro to USD...etc). I guess we should stop all those trades.... bad bad bad...
