1381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin now make it super easy to fund something in full secret on: December 28, 2017, 12:55:36 PM
No way. You are not so anonymous as you think.

Tracking an address is still impossible to do now.

it is not as impossible as you think it is, it is only hard in some cases and harder in some others for example when someone uses a mixing service. but in normal usage, it is easily traceable.
1382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptocurrency Market Cap Predictions for 2018 on: December 27, 2017, 02:14:16 PM
Hey guys! First of all this is my first post here so I hope I'm not doing anything wrong with where I post this etc.  Grin

What do you guys think will be the market cap of all cryptos in 2018? Currently it sits at around 550 Billion USD.

I personally think it's gonna rise heavily to around 1.5 - 2 trillion USD. Any thoughts?

i think 1.5-2 trillion in a year sounds about right if currently it is about 550 billion dollar.

with the current rate at which they are creating new altcoins,
- a dozen bitcoin forks each adding (16,700,000 * $50-$500) dollar to market cap
- lots of new altcoins with billions circulating supply * each being worth $1 at first and then being around that
- lots of easily created tokens on these platforms like ether and waves each adding a huge amount to total market cap

it is realistic to see the unrealistic growth in the total market cap. and hopefully at some point in the next year people will realize how useless market cap really is.
1383  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IOTA or XRP? on: December 27, 2017, 01:59:57 PM
Which of these do you think has the potential to rise in value the most?

both of them have huge supply and both of them are centralized and both of them have been pumped to ridiculously higher prices that makes them be in huge bubbles.

so both have nearly equal chance of getting a new pump in the future.
and it is impossible to tell which one and by how much because at this point with the bubbles un-burst things are harder for a pump.
1384  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: C-cex "hacked"? on: December 27, 2017, 01:51:23 PM
what the hell is this exchange! i knew it is bad but i never knew things are this bad. i mean an exchange needs to be open at any time, how many employees do they have, if any?
i think it is just one owner who does everything and now he wants to take some time off and not just a couple of days! a whole month off!
1385  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's a reasonable amount you can make per month trading Crypto long term? on: December 27, 2017, 01:44:07 PM
there really is no telling how much because this is a very unpredictable market. and it is affected by so many things, most of which are pretty strange!

for example whenever bitcoin is rising or falling, altcoins get dumped. and at times like that you will lose money all of a sudden with no reason.

also the altcoin trading is not always profitable. there are times when coins get pumped left and right but there are times nothing is happening anywhere.

not to mention that it depends on how experienced you are in trading in general and also in trading altcoins.
1386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Math Question? 21000000 bitcoins vs 2,000,000,000 users on: December 27, 2017, 01:35:39 PM
there is no direct relationship or better said a magic formula between the number of coins available and number of users involved with bitcoin. which means you can not make any calculations only based on how many users there are.

1 person may be willing to invest $1 million and pay $100,000 for each coin but another person may be willing to invest $1 and pay no more than $100 per coin.
obviously these two create different demand.
1387  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what do you think Bitcoin Mining Profitable in 2018? on: December 27, 2017, 01:28:41 PM
but it would be more advantageous if you mining another altcoin such as ETH, XMR, ETN, DASH, LITE etc ...

it is not more advantageous to mine altcoins, it actually can be less profitable but instead it is more convenient to mine altcoins because it is so much easier to buy a GPU an build a rig from them than you can buy the latest ASIC and make a rig from them.

otherwise mining bitcoin is so much more profitable because it will go up no matter what. but for altcoins you have to wait for them to be pumped.
1388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How to get your coin listed in big exchanges? on: December 23, 2017, 03:05:26 PM
it is different in different exchanges. they usually have a section for you to go to and request your coin to be listed there. and the payments are also different too.
$5000 seems small compared to rates i have seen to be honest.
1389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: One day after bloody Friday BTC +20% BCH +45 on: December 23, 2017, 02:59:12 PM
bitcoin is huge and you can't just expect it to recover this fast. additionally all the FUD is against bitcoin at the moment preventing any kind of proper recovery! that is not something small. it can not push the price any further but it can slow down the rise.

one the other hand, all the advertisement is going towards bitcoin cash and the fees that bitcoin currently has is also helping it to get pumped harder.

it definitely is not the "Big winner" though, there has been a couple of altcoins with same rises. a couple others with huge rises up to 220% and so many on the way there.
1390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The paradox of alt coin currencies on: December 23, 2017, 02:46:12 PM
it is something like penny stocks! but an easier version.
you can always create a tiny shot and call it a company and sell shares. people will buy it and pump an dump it because it is a small market and it has extremely high risk but out of all those shares there is may only be one Apple or Microsoft,... coming out.

and everyone already knows it. and at some point it becomes pretty obvious no matter how much make up they put on their projects, it will still stink when they produce something with lots of faults.
and if someday someone creates something good, it will grow on its own like how bitcoin does and wouldn't need lies, exaggeration and lots of spamvertisement to get it done.
1391  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will it be another drop? on: December 23, 2017, 02:34:57 PM
there is no reason for another drop at all if you are talking about bitcoin. if it drops it means it will be a small drop to test the support before shooting up to test the ATH again.

and if you want altcoins then you have to be specific, a lot of them are getting ready to be dumped hard since their pumps are coming to an end.
1392  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bubble Burst ? on: December 23, 2017, 02:24:03 PM
some people are never satisfied with the drop and will continue to call bitcoin a bubble for as long as they live. the drop was more than 40%. a little more and it would have been half bitcoin's value! and they still don't believe there is no longer any bubble despite the price staying up above the bottom that was reached at $14k!

The Bitcoin correction seems too far and too quick . Hold ? Or sell and buy Bitcoin Cash? Or BTG or BTH? Any suggestions ?

that is how bitcoin works, both rises and falls, corrections are fast.
hodl? of course yes.
sell for BCH and other alts? of course not. but it is a good thing to have an eye on them to invest when you see them getting pumped to be able to increase your bitcoins.
1393  Economy / Speculation / Re: get ready to buy guys on: December 23, 2017, 02:16:56 PM
the dip was actually over yesterday when it reached $10,xxx range and could not hold. the spring back up to $12000 was enough indication for you that it was the end of the dump and now the $14,xxx staying around means there is a very good buy support behind bitcoin which is still buying it at this rate.

if you wanted to buy you should have done it yesterday at the bottom. it is not late but it is after the dip.
1394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the future of Bitcoin? on: December 23, 2017, 02:11:10 PM
it i impossible to tell.
you see bitcoin is a new technology, it is great and all that and i am a bitcoin hodler but in reality it has a lot of obstacles on its way to overcome. it is not easy to create a new currency, make it decentralized and keep it that way forever.
bitcoin is being improved, we are trying to keep it decentralized while advancing with the adoption and matching the new needs.
at times it may seem impossible but that is how new technologies always work.
1395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit2x IS BACK ON! on: December 22, 2017, 01:14:04 PM
Will coming segwit2x success? Or people wan the make fud again and make profits from it ??
Sounds interesting hahah...Last time was failed. Coming this one how guys thinks? Grin

this is not the same SegWit2x which was simply a 2 MB hard fork to increase the capacity 2 times, and all the miners and a lot of services agreed to it.

this is a new shitcoin which is using the same name to confuse people into buying it and it seems like it has been successful too.
they are also adding a hidden premine to it in order to make some money too. Wink
1396  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So why is bitcoin cash a shitcoin? on: December 22, 2017, 12:58:53 PM
it comes from a long and endless discussion about scaling bitcoin.

and here is the problem: in order to scale bitcoin and be able to handle a large number of transactions (real large not just 3 transaction per second or 5 or 10 tps) you can not do it with only increasing the block size.

what bitcoin cash is based on, is that scaling must be on chain and you should increase the block size in order to achieve that. well this may sound ok to you  right now but what if 8 MB blocks become full? increase again? right now it can handle about 20 tps. it is nowhere near enough. and you can not keep increasing the block size. there are a lot of issues caused by that.

to do something about scaling you need to do something else. something like a decentralized and trustless second layer solution. Lightning Network seems to be doing that as far as i can tell. and it has the potential to scale bitcoin to a lot more than 20 tps, 100 tps, 10000 tps!

now the issue with bitcoin and bitcoin cash is that bitcoin needed a scaling solution FAST about 6 months ago but we could implement a SLOW scaling solution called SegWit which needs to be adopted to solve the issue for now until the LN is ready. but BCH did the FAST implementation and increased the block size and also it never had that many transactions to want a serious solution.
this is why people think BCH is better than bitcoin sometimes. but the fact is, as i explained above, the block size increase was a temporary band-aid which will fail soon if the number of transactions on BCH increases.
1397  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Guru says BTC and BCH going to 10k then 50k on: December 22, 2017, 12:40:37 PM
just another self claimed "guru" or "expert" or whatever they call themselves these days.

in case you missed it, he was predicting $30,000 per bitcoin which never happened so he changed it because he had invested in BCH and wanted it to get pumped big time.

2 coins move to 10k BTC falls short term to 10K and BCH rises to 10K

apparently you didn't get the memo.
the BCH pump is over, and the $4230 was the top for it, now it is falling. currently at $2500 so i guess that is another BS out of the person you are advertising.

BTC and BCH are not only not meeting at $10k but also bitcoin just had a correction while BCH is getting dumped and gets further away from bitcoin price.
1398  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Goes Down! Surprising or not on: December 22, 2017, 12:30:30 PM
yeah, surprising only if you have forgotten that you can actually take a look at a price chart and see all the price movement history from the first day bitcoin was listed on exchanges.
it has nothing to do with being new to bitcoin either because even if you are new you can still see the charts.

and if you do that you can see drops like this of this "relative size" are perfectly normal. if it was 50% drop or more then yeah it was surprising!
1399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any idea for investing? on: December 21, 2017, 01:30:01 PM
Hey Guys
Do you think it's possible to investing $30k and withdraw $1M ?
If yes , so you think which cryptocurrencies have such potencial ?  Grin

yes it is obviously possible, altcoins get pumped a lot. for example RDD was pumped nearly 200% in the past 2 days. and looking at coinmarketcap.com i have no idea what Paragon is but it was pumped 1000% today!

but also they get dumped a lot too. which means if you catch an altcoin at a bad time you will lose a lot of money too. your $30k can simply turn into $3k the same way it can turn into $300k
1400  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Help a brother out ? on: December 21, 2017, 01:21:26 PM
important
first learn about bitcoin, educate yourself about security, how a wallet works, the risks of losing your wallet (like getting hacked) if you are not careful and how to prevent them, and risks of price fluctuations, learn about fees,...
then start accepting bitcoin.

option 1:
is what everyone else already said. use a third party escrow.

option 2:
learn what Multisignature means and use that as your "customer safety net".
in short you and your customer each create a key and share the public key. in order to create a transaction both of you need to sign the transaction. customer makes the payment to the multisig address you created, you see the funds there so you ship the goods. with it you also spend the funds and half-sign the transaction and send it to the customer to sign it again. he receives the goods signs the transaction and finalizes the transaction. this is 2 of 2.
you can also use a 2 of 3 one with a third party and don't have to fully trust them.
