The high packetloss is caused by backbone connectivity issues at Hetzner: http://www.hetzner-status.de/en.html

1384  Other / Meta / Re: Request to add a "Group Buy" child forum in Custom Hardware on: June 06, 2013, 12:29:37 AM
As the title states I would like to see a sub-forum for all the group buys which have now taken over the custom hardware section.

At first it was ok when there was a couple but now the bulk of the first page is all group buys and it is very distracting from discussing the underlying tech...or trolling Roll Eyes. Thoughts?

+1, It would make it easier to keep watch on those threads too.
1385  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Is anyone working on a PCI-E based ASIC hashing module? on: June 06, 2013, 12:27:44 AM
Many miners already have GPU mining rigs, and could easily switch out GPUs for PCI-E based ASIC mining cards if such an option was available.

I would love to see someone put Avalon chips on a PCI-E based card. This seems like a very cost effective transition from GPU to ASIC mining.

Is this technically feasible?

+1, this is a good idea and would be a great transition for us hobbyist miners with our antiquated GPU rigs.

I for one would definitely be interested in buying some

LSD: The Orb, "A Huge Ever Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules from the Centre of the Ultraworld" (THE ENTIRE ALBUM) -- friggen epic, we used to listen to this on the way to pre-dawn surfing. If I had to pick just one it would be Little Fluffy Clouds.

Weed: Pink Floyd, Comfortably Numb, obvious, boring I know but you said to pick just one, that would be my first choice.

1389  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gold Coin (GLD) Info Thread - The Future of Digital Currency *UPDATE Binaries on: June 05, 2013, 10:34:56 AM
At one time I was very interested in GLD because I truly believe it has a lot of potential in terms of mass appeal. Consumer adoption is key to long term business success and the name Gold Coin does have a nice ring. In my view this coin has the potential of overtaking litecoin as the number two BTC contender as long as all shady elements are removed.

That is why I also find it highly troubling that the administrator/operator of the "official GLD forum" is now a known/confirmed scammer.

No, and probably never will since he called John K a scammer and tried to pull (from what I hear) 3 other scams at the same time in the last 24 hours.

1392  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I asked Chipotel to accept Bitcoin... RESPONSE! on: June 04, 2013, 11:29:20 PM
Original Comment:

You should accept bitcoin as payment. Please use the company "Bitpay" to set it up. I don't not work for them, I have no financial interest in them. I'm simply a user of bitcoin and you're the only restaurant I eat at as regularly. Thank you

Response:

Thanks for being such a fan and for the suggestion to use bitcoin. We don't have any plans to accept this as payment, but I'll be sure to pas your suggestion along to the powers that be. We appreciate your support and hope to see you again soon!

Sincerely,
Cara

Any update or responses to some of the posts and questions?  A lot of us are watching this very closely, this is a race, and Steamboat seems to be winning.

Updated the website with our office address. Final moving in tomorrow. Anybody who wants to come visit can call us for an appointment.

We are still deciding whether to accept Paypal/CC/Bank Transfers.

The modular boards, even if ordered without a case, will come with heatsinks.

The DX Mini supports 20 K16s, not 10.

Please let us throw money at you!
