13821  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: “Bitcoin’s no longer boring” price could fall as low as the $1500 on: November 18, 2018, 04:48:48 AM
in other words there is a same level of possibility for price to go up to $500,000 by next week as there is for price going down to $1,500.
$500,000 next week is pure disassociation with reality.

my point exactly!
saying price will drop to $1,500 is "disassociation with reality" as saying it will rise to $500,000 by next week.
$500k is a random number that i pulled out of my ass, just like Bloomberg did. the only difference is that i didn't write an article about it and i don't own a big news website to publish it. otherwise the principle is the same.
13822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SOLUTION TO KNOW IF SATOSHI NAKAMOTO IS REALLY DEAD.... on: November 18, 2018, 04:40:03 AM
you have already received your answer in that topic.

basically you are saying we should break bitcoin and turn it into shit just because YOU think Satoshi is dead and those coins are lost!!! well you are not allowed to do this. if we start doing it then the next day i would find YOUR addresses and decide that YOUR coins are lost because they weren't touched for more than 1 hour and decide that we should burn them. will you accept it?
13823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Question about sha256 on: November 18, 2018, 04:31:51 AM
well if we start thinking like that then we shouldn't do anything anymore because there is always a chance that something bad happens!

SHA256 is math that existed for many years (17 to be exact) and reviewed. it is safe to assume that chances of it being "broken" because of some vulnerability are very little. and if someday it happens we should act fast and simply upgrade the hashing algorithm that bitcoin uses.

13824  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is dying? on: November 18, 2018, 04:21:54 AM
I watched some crypto news and everything seems to be even worse than I expected.
is it your first day? because that is only way it explains your surprise about the "crypto news" being terrible about bitcoin. that is what they have always been doing...

Quote
Some crypto experts told that till the end of the year Bitcoin will lose 50% percents and will come to 2500-3000$..
and by "crypto experts" you mean some trolling newbies on the internet, possibly on youtube Cheesy

Quote
What do you think about it? Is it still worth holding or it's time to sell everything and forget about it?
it is still worth holding and it is worth buying more of it  but what YOU should do is to sell your bitcoins and stay away because based on things you said, obviously YOU believe otherwise. and that's the important part, you should act based on you think not what others tell you and live with the consequences.
13825  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: “Bitcoin’s no longer boring” price could fall as low as the $1500 on: November 18, 2018, 04:15:20 AM
bloomberg has been posting nonsense like this for years. anybody can visit the "bitcoin obituaries" webpage and see that a lot of articles there belong to Bloomberg!
anything is possible in bitcoin market but coming up with a number and talking about it is just dumb because it shows lack of understanding of the bitcoin market.

in other words there is a same level of possibility for price to go up to $500,000 by next week as there is for price going down to $1,500.
13826  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Scaling Solution Without Lightning Network... on: November 17, 2018, 07:54:03 AM
That's not entirely accurate. 10GB blocks would be sufficient to scale on the level of Visa.

no it won't be enough because you can't spam VISA network but you can spam bitcoin blocks and fill them up.
besides when it comes to block size it is not just about having more space, you have to consider that you have to download, verify and store 10GB of transaction data every 10 minutes on average and also upload even more depending on how many nodes you connect to and how much you want to contribute.
ask yourself this, would you be willing to run or capable of running a full node that requires 1.44 TB disk space per day, an internet speed of at least 20 Mbps and an internet cap of above 3 TB per day? that is 43 TB per month. can your hardware (CPU, RAM) handle verification of that much data.
13827  Economy / Speculation / Re: The fourth quarter of 2018 not the brightest on: November 17, 2018, 05:59:22 AM
the fourth quarter of the year normally determines whether that year is good or bad for the crypto market.
not really!
the year is good if the year is good not if in a couple of months price goes up! and being "good" is somewhat subjective. last year was good because price was rising. this year is also good because price came down and let people who were left behind to catch up in accumulating bitcoin.

Quote
if you look at the last year 2017 the cryptocurrency market started booming in the early October
not really!
bitcoin price by October was already 6 times higher than the beginning of the year so you can't say it "started booming"!

Quote
the market is crashing very badly in November.
it is not crashing, it dropped and then stopped. and it is all about the short term drama of BCH.

Quote
i guest this year is not the good one for bitcoin and the cryptocurrency in general.
it is good for altcoins too, since now that they have gotten dumped you can see that they are getting closer to not-be in a bubble anymore and you can start calling their prices healthy again if they continue this way.
13828  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Scaling Solution Without Lightning Network... on: November 17, 2018, 05:37:31 AM
I understand your point of view, but i think if all the world uses LN the 2MB blocksize would not be sufficient to do the ONCHAIN transactions the people would want to do from blockchain to off-chain and vice-versa, so, block size needs to upgrade sooner or later,

i completely agree! and i think everyone already knows that LN relies on on-chain scaling. it is called second layer for a reason, it is a layer that comes on another layer which needs to be functioning well.

Quote
it would have been much better for everyone  if it was done without BTC/BCH split, LN can run over BCH too, so...
that fork-off had nothing to do with scaling in my opinion, it was more like an attempt to take over and make money. not to mention that the whole motto of BCH is that the only way for scaling is on-chain scaling. so no, LN or any other second layer solution name it may be called will not "run over BCH" ever.

Quote
500 save backup of 50% of the data (Type A node) and the other 50% can save backup of the other 50% of the data (Type B node)
so lets say there is a transaction Tx1 and it is in the other half of the "data" in node Type B. and say i run node Type A. if someone pays me by spending Tx1, i do not have it in my database (blockchain) so how can i know it is a valid translation? am i supposed to assume that it is valid on faith?! or am i supposed to connect to another node and ask if the transaction is valid and then trust that other node to tell me the truth? how would you prevent fraud?
13829  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Scaling Solution Without Lightning Network... on: November 17, 2018, 04:55:54 AM
the problem with increasing block size as the only solution for scaling is that no matter how much you increase it, it will not be enough for a global payment system which has to process a lot of transactions per second.

you will eventually need a solution that doesn't need block space for increasing availability. and that is the second layer solution like lightning network.
13830  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is blockchain now just a word to joke upon? on: November 17, 2018, 04:35:10 AM
that is not a joke, that is an ugly truth talking about the reality that has been happening for a while now. the ICOs made everything very easy for people to take gullible newbies' money so after about a year of their hype we have ended up here where everyone who wants to hype their business and make quick money they create a token, include "blockchain technology" in their crap and make millions.
the worst part is that most of these so called companies don't even make sense with this technology.
13831  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dr.Craig Wright talking about the end of bitcoin next year. [No FUD here] on: November 17, 2018, 04:25:47 AM
you can't say "Craig Wright" and say what he is saying is not FUD. the two are synonyms!

as others said, this is for personal gains. and it is not the first time. the bitcoin market has always been emotional and acted as such too. that means with a big enough drama you can influence the market greatly.
google Mike Hearn, back in 2016 he went crazy and started FUDing bitcoin and caused a 25% drop like now.
from time to time they change the strategy of the FUD and create a new one to keep the effectiveness!
13832  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright is trying to implode Bitcoin on: November 17, 2018, 04:07:41 AM
~
Well there are the lies about the fights between him and the sibling of an ex business partner over alleged mined coins that were proven false and him saying he is Satoshi. He likes to at least give the impression that he can tank the entire Bitcoin network whenever he so pleases.

not tank the network, but tank the price or market of bitcoin.
and as we can see there is 3 days after the small price drop and he did not do a thing because he is not capable of it. i don't know how many times people in bitcoin are going to fall for idiotic FUD by certain people before they stop paying them any attention!
13833  Economy / Speculation / Re: Would you miss out on bitcoin investment even at this dip? on: November 17, 2018, 03:53:35 AM
it sounds like you either made a mistake about the year or your "friend" was lying to you because anybody who heard about bitcoin in 2009 (year zero!) were not even thinking about the value of bitcoin. it literary had no value. there was no market, there was no merchant and bitcoin was indeed "virtual". then as time went by and first real purchase took place it became "real" and then came the markets and then merchants and people started thinking about value of bitcoin.

as for current price i personally consider this a huge discount. of course that  doesn't mean i am going to invest any more than i can afford to lose but it have been buying to take advantage of this discount which i don't think will last long.
13834  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin still dipping. What should we do? on: November 17, 2018, 03:45:57 AM
it is not "continuing" to drop, it dropped about 3 days ago and that was it! there has been no more drops and ever since that day the price has been hovering around $5500.
the "investors" did panic sell, that is why the price dropped that much. although i have to say the drop was small in my opinion compared to the panic they were trying to induce.

as for what you should do, you should always invest what you can afford to lose. assess the risks and learn to reach charts so that you don't make the mistake of thinking price is still dropping when it is not.
13835  Economy / Exchanges / Re: C-CEX.com Trusted, Secure & Friendly Exchange Since 2013. 200+ Alts,USD,Low Fees on: November 16, 2018, 05:10:19 AM
what happened to c-cex?
it used to be a decent place to trade despite the shadiness. now it seems to have turned into a full on scam. i tried accessing my account and it says it is not found! did they nuke their own database? luckily i had less than 0.01BTC there but it still sucks to lose that and an exchange that i used from time to time.

maybe the 6 months of vacations when no one could withdraw their funds caused c-cex to lose touch with reaaaaaaaallllllllllllllity

it sounds more like running away to me Cheesy
c-cex is a business not some hobby to take a 6 months vacation from and not come back. not to mention that it was a 24/7 market which also is global. you can't just shut it down and go have fun!
13836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just calm the f$%^ down, this is not the end of Bitcoin. on: November 16, 2018, 05:00:19 AM
Its so sad that many investors are lack of infomation about cryptocurrency and they seems considering bitcoin and BCH is the same coins. I do think this condition will be only temporary and i hope december we would see a good grow cause Bakkt will coming in 12 December.

i seriously doubt that this drop had anything to do with investors confusing an altcoin (BCH) with bitcoin! this was mostly because of manipulation and the fear that started because CSW said he is going to dump 1 million bitcoin which was obviously a lie but the manipulators used it to push the price down.
in fact this can be a good signal for the rise next months since this could be seen as the last attempt at cheaper coins.
13837  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some important steps to take in this bear market 😃 on: November 16, 2018, 04:56:42 AM
there is no bear market!
for bitcoin, the bear market has been over for months. don't confuse the recent drop with a continuation of bear market. it was manipulation and fear that caused the drop.
and there is no bear market for altcoins in general. all we have is pump and dumps for altcoins.

as for the points i disagree with most of what you said.
Quote
Check coins that dove by relatively 80% from their marvelous highs
there is nothing stopping such coins from dropping down to 85%, 90% or 99% even. and in fact most of the altcoins get dumped about 90%+ so looking at how much an altcoin is dumped is only misleading you.

Quote
the crypto markets suck right now
it always sucks for those who are not familiar with the market and with trading but insist on doing it!

Quote
Attempt to Enhance Technical Analysis
it is good to know TA and use it sometimes but this is not something that you can rely on specially when it comes to altcoin market which as i said is purely pump and dumps. there is no logic for their rises and drops so you can never speculate it with TA.
13838  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How is Bitcoin (or cryptocurrency in general) censorship resistant? on: November 16, 2018, 04:19:42 AM
Could my internet provider just block Bitcoin transactions and then it would be a censored cryptocurrency?

i believe they can.
communications over bitcoin network are not encrypted (there is no reason to encrypt it) so your ISP can clearly see the packets you are sending and by "sniffing" them they can know it is a bitcoin transaction so they can prevent you from sending it out.
but there is a simple solution for it: encrypt the communications!
so far there has been no need for it so there has been no solution for it either.

~ run a bitcoin full node through Tor and you're good.
would that prevent packet sniffing?
13839  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is less stable than some ALTs ! on: November 16, 2018, 03:41:19 AM
you are calculating percentages wrong!
XRP got dumped from $0.53 down to $0.43 and that is 18.8%
XLM got dumped from $0.26 down to $0.21 and that is 19.2%

besides the rule is this:
when bitcoin drops, altcoins get dumped hard unless they are on in pumping session.

so altcoins may not always even go down! they may actually go up. as it was the case with a couple of them that have been pumping during the past 48 hours.

seems like centralization or semi-centralization in crypto is going to take over one way or the other. I hope not but we shall see soon.
don't confuse pumps with "taking over"!
13840  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2 btc withdrawal from exchange on: November 16, 2018, 03:30:49 AM
Is that website even a good and legit source of news when it comes to this?
no, that site is one of the most click-bait-y websites around. and it is only publishing some nonsense that was started online!

Quote
that address is most probably Binance's multi signature cold storage. specially since it has received multiple deposits from this address (16ftE...) and some of them are small like 0.1. payments of that small size are not done from the cold storage (16ftE...)

even if my assessment is wrong, so what? this kind of huge transactions are common on bitcoin network. big whales are buying and selling bitcoin all the time! usually they hide their tracks better.
