Do ROI but if you do mean opencl card, most likely you will run at a loss.  It hurt me to stop GPU mining.  But now i only mine asics because of profit.

Hi
Thanks for the reply. I have since found out that what I have experienced is normal. It is something to do with finding a new block to work on. I'm just a noob and need to learn about the intricacies of all this.
Thanks again.

Yea by using a block the pool find's it does not cost to send data for the pool.  Depending on type of pool luck might be a factor and can take different times.
13843  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: zeus miners on: August 06, 2014, 10:54:54 PM
ROI is different for every person.  Always do your own ROI calculation.

Scrypt is harder to determine ROI then BTC as far as accuracy.  There are a lot of variables such as are you keeping coins you mine, or turning into BTC right away.  Small things can make a huge factor in this.
13844  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Surface pro 2 and antminer s3 setup on: August 06, 2014, 12:43:17 PM
well I got it working...for a minute. Soon as I flipped it to DHCP protocol it just sat there. now I can't even access the damn thing. it's a brick Sad

Did a factory reset. Went in. Changed to DHCP, clicked change protocol. Worked fine. Clicked save/apply per Doge's guide and it freezes again.

The problem seems to be whenever I hit "Save and Apply". I changed to DHCP, clicked "change protocol" and then left. I set up my mining addresses and tried save/apply and it all froze again.

I get stuck at LuCI - Lua Configuration Interface. Anyone have any idea what is happening?

I suggest using static IP's.  Set it to something you know.  It is a lot easier in long run to have static IP's if you have multiple miners.

13846  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: newbie question physical bitcoins on: August 06, 2014, 03:28:30 AM
I personally do not see any value in physical bitcoin. Bitcoin gets it value from the security of the network and blockchain. Having something in your hand does not give you anything.
I think along the same lines as this.

Physical Bitcoins don't necessarily have a value, unless there is a wallet stored on the coin. Otherwise, why don't I go make a bunch of copper physical Bitcoins, and sell them for $600? See where I'm going with this?

Physical coins are just for show, unless you have an urge to print out a copy of your wallet onto paper.

There's a fairly good market for these coins as collectors items though.

I would agree it's more of a collectors item.  Some made of certain things silver/gold yes do have value on their own.

They are a cool item you could put your key in and put in a safety deposit box or something.  But most likely you will be better off keeping coin "mint" as it seems to be collector's items.
13847  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining @ 0.03euro for kWh on: August 06, 2014, 03:05:42 AM
Hi to everybody!
Is worth to mine with energy price 0.03 euro for kWh?
If so, is there somebody interested to start a mining "factory"?

That is a good electricity rate.  A few things will make this hard one you being new.  Another is seeing euro you might be paying a VAT.  If so this makes getting miners there harder with truthful amounts if there is VAT.

You can offer... but i don't see people sending you miners.  The best forum is services and offer it as a service.  But be warned it will be we hard to start this up.
13848  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: setting up 1th on: August 06, 2014, 02:59:54 AM
Open up router and look at connected devices assuming you are using 192.168.1.* and miner is to it will show in device list.

That is easiest way to find it.  Using nmap not knowing what your doing i highly don't suggest.  If use wrong IP your scanning the internet.  Reading your post i think device list is where you should look at not run a IP scanning tool.

Looks like a great product.  I love the sleek design.  Do you mind taking a picture of front exhaust?  I'm curious what it looks like.

@notllist3d

Are you able to check on why it appears that some of us who are paying for professional hosting seem to have been shifted to the simple date center ?

You would have to send question's on hosting to Mr. Lee.  I do not have any access to customer's information.

Don't quote me as I could be wrong (i do make mistakes) but if you were moved to new data center and want professional hosting contact Mr. Lee and it can be moved to the other professional data center.  If you are a Scrypt machine it might be good to do.

If you are a dragon I would give a day or two and hopefully power goes back to normal as far as outages.  In theory I think new data center was suppose to be able to lower price for customer on hosting.  In long run I'm hoping this means more profit for hosted customers, in form of lower priced hosting.

Again I could be wrong on info it's just how I understand.  Mr. Lee could answer this one far better then me I'm afraid.

Anyone else having issues with miners having their credentials changed?Huh?

I this is the 4th time today my miner has been "hijacked"

I have not heard of other's with it.  For it to be same miner's having issue I would send IP's to Mr. Lee to see problem is (it's very early there so remember time difference)

You could use report a miner on the form from his website https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1Jn_wKd0phVlJtqDO9th0R2lkxNxkyQ0radDGcWf7STk/viewform this will go to staff and might be quicker, but I would send PM or something with specific IP's since it seems like from your post it's same user each time it's going to.

Absolutely.  Have submitted the form.

This time, the person has changed the user name and password so I have no control.

Definately malicious.  I am disapointed

Good to hear.  I'm sure Mr. Lee will get to you.

Sounds like two user's fighting over same IP.  I'm not sure what is going on but sure he can get to bottom of it and help get to where two are not trying to use same machine.

oblivious miners are oblivious

are you guys that blind to see these guys mine with your hardware? "downtime" "new factory" "car trouble" hahaha you guys are blind! - then all of your credentials are changed to their own wallets.

they are faking downtime and mining with your gear.. and then they forget to change out the credentials to back to customers

all too blind to realize what the shit is going on- have fun

I think I can feel safe answering this one.  There is no "faking" of downtime.   The new data center has unfortunately had as Mr. Lee said "sorry, everyone, we have a crazy day in our simple dc today, power was off for three times,".  Downtime is unfortunate but this is not a conspiracy I do not believe.

You should be able to see by pinging.  I have not done this though. Also that data center was made for more capacity for future customers, I would think show that goal would not be to  fake downtime.

Sounds like two with same IP since same two trying to fight for it.

will the miners autostart then ?  as my miner hasnt been on my pool for over 2 days so far

It depends on setting's there is a auto start and manual start selectable on screen.  If you select auto start it should restart.   It is possible to not be 100 percent successful, but as general rule it should restart is what I have experienced.
13857  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: [GUIDE] Innosilicon [A1 Booster + A2 Terminator] Support/Tuning on: August 05, 2014, 02:59:50 AM
Does anyone here happen to know the username and password to log into these Innosilcion A2's that were purchased through GAWminers? They've been absolutely horrible in providing support. We can't login through ssh nor is there a web GUI running as well. We are dead in the water for over a week now... We've submitted a ticket to them and we haven't received a response yet...

Can we or should we just flash over the SD Card with a known good image with a known Username and Password from another reseller like MinerEU? So far, we haven't found a great deal of support out there on the internet about this product.

With prices of SD cards i would get a second card and use it for your test on another firmware and see if it's what your looking for.  The original firmware in first post you could use with SSH.
13858  Economy / Services / Re: [Lee group] Miner Rentals - Dragon 1T Bitcoin Miner/A2 90 MHz - 1T New Price on: August 04, 2014, 10:30:09 PM
As of this post currently 3 dragons in stock.

New price with upcoming difficulty change.  There is also a option of 2 week rental of Dragon 1T machines.  Some customers want longer rental so I have listened! With two week rental is a little lower price as well to reward customers renting longer.
13859  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Jump Start PSU Trick for Antminer S3 on: August 04, 2014, 02:48:47 AM
I have my S3s arrived yesterday, but some of my PSU just won't start properly even with the paper clip trick.

I would be careful if it's not working there is a good chance you are not making contact, or something is wrong.  If done right it's just like a computer switch.  If you stick in wrong two can not be a good thing

If done wrong with paperclip and don't know what your doing it can be bad.  Remember electricity is involved.  This isn't really something that does not work, if you do it right it's just like switch.  So any trouble is a worry to hear on this.

They do make switches there are some group buys starting for the new S3 PSU switch they are making.

Welcome to bitcoin!

I am someone who enjoys mining and trading.  As far as mining now days do ROI and see if buying a machine or hosted miner makes most sense for you.  Each persons is different on variables of picking best way to go.
