I think using Cannabiscoins itself in hedging the market might be a good idea since 1 coin will always represent 1 gram of Canndy.

Bitcoin Foundation Blew $4.6 Million in 10 Months

The Bitcoin Foundation(TBF) Founding Director Jon Matonis explains the $4.6m loss in 2014. Funds were drained by exorbitant monthly expenses, conferences and the falling price of bitcoin. Today the ex-VISA employee advises Bitcoin entrepreneurs on funding.

The role of the organization that introduced lobbying to Bitcoin and attempted to meme-ify titles for Bitcoin developers remains ambiguous. Despite recent announcements purpotting a change in focus towards development, questions remain unanswered. Like, what happened to the 5800 bitcoin mentioned in their 2014 transparency documents?

To D9 and the Cannabiscoin crew...  A suggestion from JohnnyBTCSeed to think about on what to do in the future that might help the project for the long term.

Quote

Here is the issue. A farmer, whether thc or corn, normally uses futures contracts/ contract for delivery, in order to hedge their costs. If a farmer is storing all of their money in thc coin and thc coin takes a dive the farmer is screwed. Likewise fertilizer costs go up and down, the farmer has to hedge in order not lose his shirt.

A better idea would be to use bitcoin for a contract for delivery style future maket. Then when this "Candy" strain is in high demand people can trade futures contracts. If you don't want to use bitcoin then you could use nxt.

When you have developed a proper cannabis futures market then you can use that to help determine the fair market price of this commodity. However the current method of needing a separate coin system (ie: potcoin, corncoin, soycoin) is flawed. Maybe someone could create a nxt MS coin called cannabiscoin and tie the issuance to how much crop is produced then destroy them when smoked.

Not suggesting to do exactly that.  But it's a practical idea.  Thanks for listening.

13848  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Cannabis Project/Coin Have Grow Rooms and Grow Their Own Weed? on: July 01, 2015, 10:28:09 PM
I must say i am amazed at the traders that do not know more about CANN. It is far from a day traders coin, but the potential must be acknowledged sooner or later. I think, every time i mention this coin that all i hear is crap about drug coins will never work. It is what it is and if you are not in yet. oh well

if for some reason cannabiscoin, dope, maryjane, 420, (insert slang name for weed)coin had actually came up with a great model of something, anything, then you can expect, corn coin. Corn coin, finally a coin for corn farmers. Next; cotton coin, finally a coin for cotton farmers. Then there's soy corn, finally a coin for soy farmers.

And of course, wine coin. A coin brought to you by nappa valley. And who can forget, copper/silver/gold coin, finally a coin for the miners.

You know what, you're right!  A great model is what's needed to make the project a success.  I'll point the Cannabiscoin crew to this thread to discuss it more...

Anyway, Cannabiscoins is backed by 1 gram of their own strain of Cannabis called Canndy.  They have their own grow rooms and are acquiring more land to grow more plants in volume.  Cannabiscoin can be used to acquire Canndy from their partner dispenciaries (and probably set up their own later) and affiliates.  Things are not quite ready from what I see, bit the wheels are set in motion.

Hopefully it all works out for them.  Cannabis is becoming more and more legal in the US.  The latest which is in Oregon just yesterday.  Also, I believe Cannabis could become the wonder drug of the 21st century just like aspirin was in the 20th century.

Ok guys I am not trying to sign you up with this but I have been invited to this and the only way you can have a look inside is by following a ref feral link.

Basically you buy hashing power anywhere between 100usd to 3000 usd per month to get some of the currency. Then at Christmas time it all becomes open source so anyone can mine it. Here is a link to have a look inside

http://gravitate.globalcoinreserve.com/

OK so I have the opportunity of talking to the person who made this later what questions would you ask to establish if it is actually real? I have already asked to see the block chain but he said he didn't want to waste his programers times as when it launches it will be working with etherem when public so it will be a waste of time.

Also currently there are no wallets to download only the ones you see in your back room etc.

Another claim is that this coin is coin to be backed by gold. I.e. If the coin is worth 1 usd then you can trade it in for 20 cents of gold.

How does this all sound to you and  what questions would you ask as I will do today a bit later?

Flash forward to today.  How was it?

I want to short Litecoin but over a long time period, e.g. 6 months or more. The longest short I've seen is 1 week at 796.com. Any place that offers longer term ones?

Great idea!  I hope you do it asap.  Good luck!  Grin
