13841  Economy / Economics / Re: How much money do you have left from your job? on: July 02, 2016, 11:08:35 PM
Are you ladies talking about US dollars here or what?  We need to be comparing apples to apples.

Bitcoin attracts a lot of wage slaves--and that's an amazing thing.  I like that I'm using the same currency as a rebel from Russia who hates his system of government.  That's how revolution starts.  And I'm serious about that.

I used to be a pharmacist, but the drugs took over and it wasn't supposed to work out that way.  Now I make about 4 times less than what I made in pharmacy but I'm cool with that for now.  I'm not starving, but I'm not rolling around in a Mercedes with a cigar like a boss or anything.
13842  Economy / Lending / Re: hello investors...i need a loan 0.1 for a short term on: July 02, 2016, 11:04:32 PM
<snip>
i dont understand the rules here very well but i hope we will build a good trust ^_^
<snip>
Hello Malek!  Welcome to bitcointalk.  I suggest you read the rules until you do understand them, and then maybe you can request a loan such that said request is not a time-waster.  You won't get anything out of anyone here without collateral, because we're essentially jaded, and some might say extremely paranoid.  Depends on who you ask.  People like to create accounts and look for word combinations that will hit the jackpot in the lending section.  Rarely does it work.

So like I said, welcome.
13843  Economy / Speculation / Re: Winklevoss ETF on: July 02, 2016, 10:49:13 PM
If this has happened it may have more effect on btc price rise than the impending  halving....

it would have already because of insider-trading. i donīt think it is happening anytime soon.
Yeah, the market doesn't wait long to react to news.  I'm not a firm believer in efficient markets, but I am certainly not a believer in learning-disabled markets.  If it was going to have any effect, it would have already.

I can't figure out (in my pea-brain) why anyone would make an ETF out of bitcoin.  Why not just buy bitcoin?  Then again, derivatives exist for everything, right?  I'm just ignorant.
13844  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Buying Postage with Bitcoins on: July 02, 2016, 07:34:30 PM
I don't trust links, so I won't click on yours--no offense.

What is the advantage of buying postage anonymously with bitcoin, if you don't mind my asking.  You can mail something pretty anonymously by buying postage with cash and sticking it in a mailbox (for the US anyway).  Just curious.  But it is nice to see bitcoin being used.
13845  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: did you put all your money into bitcoin? on: July 02, 2016, 07:23:49 PM
Oh hell no.  I am not a 20-something dude living rent-free with some sugar momma who can afford to put even 51% of my hard-earned dough into cryptocurrency.  Don't get me wrong.  I believe in bitcoin and I do own some, but I'm realistic.  It could be financial suicide to be cubes-deep.  But for the money I have left over, I'm currently buying bitcoin and holding.
13846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We can be better than this! on: July 02, 2016, 06:04:45 PM
So you're saying I shouldn't buy Dash??  But I like the coin, I really do.

Alas, I agree with much that you wrote.  The overwhelming majority of altcoins serve no purpose other than to make the developers rich, and most don't take much to develop at all.  They're for fucking gamblers, and 99.999999999999999% of people in this community have that mentality and should attend Gamblers Anonymous meetings regularly.  Christ, there are people here who gamble away money that should be going into formula for their baby, which they shouldn't have had in the first place.  That's altcoins in a nutshell.
13847  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price is climbing up slowly slowly. what do you think ? on: July 02, 2016, 05:46:38 PM
I agree with the last part of what you wrote, that the bull is ready to run.  I don't think this is or even should be an effect of the upcoming halving.  This is a market consisting of tons of people who've known about it for a long time.  Why should the price spike?
13848  Economy / Speculation / Re: Still too many bulltards on: July 02, 2016, 04:37:07 PM
Seems like all the bears got run over by the bulls on this forum as of late.  They certainly have gone silent.  And if you think cryptobulltardbangers are bad, you should listen to the precious metal permabulls. They resemble a home for TBI patients,  and I mean no offense to that population.   But it's crazy.
13849  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it legal to earn and hold bitcoin ? on: July 02, 2016, 04:26:27 PM
OP, how are the prisons in your country?   Take that into account when deciding on whether to do illegal shit.  If you're going to end up with a big black rattlesnake up your ass, with the video up on dailymotion...well, is that worth it?  Any cuntry that would ban bitcoin likely wants such pleasures for its citizens.
13850  Economy / Auctions / Re: Full member potential legendary 980+ on: July 02, 2016, 01:16:56 PM
We're all potential legendary members here.  The only certainty is that OP is an account-selling scunt who would be better off trying to sell baseball bats masquerading as sex toys from the comfort of his dirt floor hovel.  Which no doubt has bugs in it.  This stuff pisses me off to no end.
13851  Economy / Economics / Re: Is brexit gave an impact to bitcoin's price? on: July 02, 2016, 01:01:42 PM
Did you see how the US stock market crashed for 2 days because of it...and then rebounded even higher?  I wouldn't trust any market movements based on political news.  Same with bitcoin although we've also got the halving and a bunch of other things going on.

OP, practice your English.  But your attempted murder of it was what attracted me to this thread in the first place,  so mission accomplished I guess.
13852  Economy / Speculation / Re: A Word of Warning to the Bears on: July 02, 2016, 01:54:34 AM
OP be smoking crack-type substances--last chance to buy under a million?  I don't think so, my friend.  You would be able to buy a house with signature campaign earnings.  That's just wacky.  I suppose it could happen, but I think we'd be weeping for failed economies all over the globe.

But I do agree that it's a decent time to buy.  We're in a good bull market right now.
13853  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dash Nation Civil War on: July 02, 2016, 12:37:42 AM
So how old is this guy who went on that rant?  Sounds like either a pissed-off teenager or a very pissed-off drunken altcoin pumper.  You just have to love the contentious and juvenile nature of the altcoin scene. Doesn't sound like this crap should affect DASH in any way.  It's already in the dumper, having lost something like 45% of its value in the last month.  Yikes.
13854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When Dogecoin halving? on: July 02, 2016, 12:32:37 AM
What do you mean?  without limit in supply its price is cheaper. Perhaps you mean if it had a massive use.

In real terms it is limited. The small amount generated now is just to keep up with lost coins. Ie people deleting wallets by mistake etc.

Exactly.  Said another way:

The annual growth rate in the total supply of dogecoin will decrease every year in perpetuity from block 600,001+. The key is that the amount of coins per block be more or less fixed in perpetuity - the consequence of which is that the relative effect of mining those coins decreases from one unit of time to the next - also in perpetuity.
And yet another way of saying it is that everyone on the planet who would ever want doge can have it eventually.  And another:  it'll eventually inflate itself into complete worthlessness.  But I still have a soft spot in my heart for doge.  Don't know why; it isn't rational.
13855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some millionaire sent me a penny. Who is 1GX28yLjVWux7ws4UQ9FB4MnLH4UKTPK2z on: July 02, 2016, 12:15:30 AM
Lol, buy some DOGE with it.  It's the best thing that could possibly come out of a Mt. Gox settlement.  That name still makes my f-ing skin crawl, kinda like Cryptsy.
13856  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Waves - Cut losses or hold and watch again in a year on: July 01, 2016, 11:53:11 PM
Lol.  I have no strong feelings regarding waves, but I know there was a lot of hype and there are tons of people who believe in it.  So I think if you bought right now and just held onto it for a year (like OP suggests), you could probably make some decent coin.  And by coin, I mean bitcoin, because that's the only one that isn't totally shitty.
13857  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Make a Living Trading? on: July 01, 2016, 11:48:25 PM
If you have a starting capital of $100,000 in BTC, you should do fine, but you need to be smart about it all!!!  If you are looking for some investment strategies and such, please PM me.  I do not make a living on here, but everything I have on here is because I have earned it online.  I did not invest nothing into it at all.
Oh my dear god, if I had that amount of money there's no way in hell I'd be trading altcoins.  For one thing, the markets are generally too thin to do any trading with size.  And the other thing, most importantly, volatility is waaaay too high for me.  You can easily lose 90% of your stake within seconds if the coin is shitty enough--and most of them are.

Trading stocks, bonds, pork bellies, and shitcoins is super risky.  Even experienced traders have trouble making a living at it.  Try it OP, get back to us.
13858  Economy / Digital goods / Re: how much is my account worth? on: July 01, 2016, 10:27:09 PM
How can quality of posts be a factor in the value of an account if they plan on selling it to someone else who could have a worse or better post quality?

seems irrelevant.
I guess campaign managers take that sort of thing into account when accepting or denying people for the sig campaigns.  Selling accounts is just such a shitty practice.  There's nothing good that comes of it.  People either buy an account and try to scam immediately or they join a sig campaign and spam the hell out of the forum.  And OP's account isn't worth all that much I'm sure.
13859  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I'm quite Dissapointed, I was scammed here in this Forum. on: July 01, 2016, 06:33:14 PM
What made you think you could make a living posting in here in the first place?  How does a newbie come in here and think he can buy an account, post from it and make a living?
This story of yours is hard to believe.  You are keeping something from us while soliciting our sympathies. That in itself is a scam.

Oh there are plenty of people who do exactly that.  It's why much of this forum is completely shitty.  Luckily the mods are pretty good and nuke shitposters damn quick.  But I want to see the proof here.
13860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin be replaced by another cryptocurrency? on: July 01, 2016, 04:14:54 PM
I think it's possible, especially if there is one created by the big banks.  On the other hand I think if bitcoin fails, there's not going to be much that's better that's going to come along.  It really is entrenched.  When people think of crypto, they think of bitcoin.
