13861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shorting Litecoin long term? on: July 01, 2015, 05:13:14 AM
I want to short Litecoin but over a long time period, e.g. 6 months or more. The longest short I've seen is 1 week at 796.com. Any place that offers longer term ones?

Great idea!  I hope you do it asap.  Good luck!  Grin

Would they wander off to LTC as well?  Grin

13865  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Matonis: If Bitcoin XT Succeeds You Can Kiss 21 Million Cap Goodbye on: June 30, 2015, 06:27:59 AM
There's a very short list of people that matter in development. They will figure out what's best for us. We really have no say anyway.

Wladimir J. van der Laan
Gavin Andresen
Jeff Garzik
Gregory Maxwell
Pieter Wuille
Luke Dashjr
Matt Corallo
Mike Hearn
Peter Todd

Matonis isn't in this group so his opinion doesn't matter.

Just wondering... Who among them support Gavincoin?

13866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why LTC boom? on: June 30, 2015, 06:08:58 AM
"Perhaps Greece has started thinking of adopting LTC as their currency and since they can't buy all the BTC before driving it up, they are going ahead and buying all the LTC "

PS - Just a speculation. Smiley

Lol.  That would be funny.  "Yes yes we cannot buy the bitcoin anymore!  Let's get the much cheaper, faster one!"
13867  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin on: June 30, 2015, 06:06:54 AM
I told you guys! Many people are claiming that Litecoin is a shitcoin, but there you go. I was expecting about $5 price before the reward halves, but this is by far exceeding my expectations.

Yup.  That you did.  Is this the start of "The Rise and Rise of LTC"?
13868  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Millionaires Should Start Looking into Renewable Energy on: June 30, 2015, 05:44:24 AM
This issue was addressed many times before, i don't understand why it's being brought up again..

We could just as easily accuse governments for wasting energy in producing fiat and using ATM's and alike.. Just think of how many machines every government that has fiat is
using, and that's not just energy being wasted, it's also polluting environment and wasting material used for the bills themselves.
IMHO, it just looks like people are searching for an excuse to attack bitcoin once again, nothing more.

cheers

Exactly.  We shouldn't be following them...

edit:  We should be talking about it at least...  again and again.  You never know, somebody might pick it up and actually do something about it.
13869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happenend to Ethereum? on: June 30, 2015, 03:30:06 AM
What phone does he have...? Looks old and can't give very good pictures. He'd definity benefit from going to a professional studio to get a decent portfolio.

Weight looks nice, but he has a very pointy elbow! Sad

Elbows too pointy.  Eyes too far apart.  Does he even lift?!  2/10.  Wood knot bang.

But his abs look good.

Please forgive me that I missed his abs, they are simply stunning! Masturbation material right there.  Kiss

How could you?  That's hard to miss.  I wonder what kind of work out one should do to achieve such a very good physique.
13870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why LTC boom? on: June 30, 2015, 03:24:21 AM
Because Charlie Lee Chinese - Chinese people viewed as very industrious, trust worthy, not steal your money.  Litecoin is silver the safe haven of Bitcoin.

FYP.
13871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why LTC boom? on: June 30, 2015, 03:22:50 AM
Why not bitcoin?

Because it's the safe haven coin.  Too much politics going on in Bitcoin land right now.  Some people are moving to LTC.  Good luck with your Gavincoin.
13872  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Millionaires Should Start Looking into Renewable Energy on: June 30, 2015, 03:13:26 AM
Some companies are doing this.
like this one https://forum.cryptomining.farm/index.php?topic=2.0
                    https://nxtforum.org/assets-board/(ann)-(cell)-solarfarm-asset-photovoltaic-power-station-in-thailand-18mw/
They are building Photovoltaic power station Project to use generated electricity to mine bitcoin! Such kind of self sustainable mining farm is the future of bitcoin mining industry as the difficulty increases day by day, for the aim of gaining competitive advantage.

Now this is worth advertising.  How's that project going?  Links directly to their site would be helpful.

edit:  Not only should the aim be competitive advantage.  But also to at least not harm the environment.  Bitcoin should be a group of forward thinking  people, not becoming like the greedy, power hungry banksters and politicians that's taking place here right now.

Where's the CANN guy?  Have a couple of questions...  Huh

G'day toke, DeltaNine is visiting Colorado this week. Is there something anyone else can help you with?

Oh hi.  Just a couple of questions posted to get a discussion going here...

How's Canndy?  Any good...?  Are the plants' growth good?  Maybe you should try to get featured in High Times Magazine when your strain is ready.  Wink

Is the Cann crew interested in expanding the backing of Cannabiscoins?  Maybe you guys can back it with X amount of Hemp seed oil per coin too?

Thanks.

edit:  Sorry about the first question if it seems offensive...  Just asking if the plants' growth have been ok.

13875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Cannabis Project/Coin Have Grow Rooms and Grow Their Own Weed? on: June 30, 2015, 02:45:59 AM
This thread is not about CANN.  So don't advertise or whatever...  I seriously want to know which cannabis project grow their own weed.  I'm tired of looking into projects that promises 'potential'.  I want a project actually backed by something.

I've always thought Cannabis will become the wonder drug of the 21st century...  Like aspirin was in the 20th century.  That industry could become bigger.  So yeah, looking into more pot based projects.
13876  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Millionaires Should Start Looking into Renewable Energy on: June 30, 2015, 02:39:20 AM
I have always had this idea of a self substantiating bitcoin miner with pure solar and wind energy, it could be a pricey prototype to make but i'm sure a lot of people would love the idea.

Yup.  That would be awesome.  The excess energy generated could even be sold to nearby communities.  I think decentralized energy might be the next big thing.
13877  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Millionaires Should Start Looking into Renewable Energy on: June 30, 2015, 02:22:27 AM
Instead of focusing on politics, it might be a good idea to start fixing the real problem.  Wasteful use of electricity.

Bitcoin accused of wasting shocking amount of electricity

It may be an alternative to fiat currencies and traditional banking, but Bitcoin is using up entirely too much electricity. One critic claims the online crypto-currency uses 5,000 times more power per transaction than VISA and is not sustainable.

According to the calculations by Christopher Malmo, writing at Vice’s blog Motherboard, “a single Bitcoin transaction uses roughly enough electricity to power 1.57 American households for a day.”

Citing estimates by the computer cooling firm Allied Control, Malmo says the total power consumption of the Bitcoin network is anywhere from 250 to 500 Megawatts (MW). Taking into account the total number of calculations the network can perform per second (hashrate) and the “generous miner efficiency” of 0.6 watts per gigahash, Malmo writes, the network’s constant power draw is just under 215 MW, or enough to power 173,000 average US households for a day.

A little of both.

I'm aware that Cannabiscoin grows their own strain called Canndy.  Any other pot based coin that does this?
