1400 counted shipping to USA.
13882  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: June 04, 2020, 01:09:25 PM
and boom. diff is now 13.7

my miners made 1800 x 0.00000883 = 0.015894 btc a day. of which I get 25%

today they make 1800 x 0.00000964 = 0.017352 btc a day of which I get 25%

so in theory I will earn 1.58337 btc over the next year.  with full flat diff.

the ath diff was 16.5.  we are at 13.7

lets see how this unfolds.

My oldest male relative died at 93.

I am 63.  Sooo if lucky 🍀 I have 30 years left. Not 80.
13884  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Zcash with Antminer S9 on Slushpool on: June 04, 2020, 12:19:30 AM
yeah  s9 mines the algorithm named  sha-256  of which btc is one of a few coins that use it.

zcash is mined with a different algorithm and needs a different mining machine then the s9

"People also ask
What does mining algrithom Zcash use?
ZCash will use Equihash as an hashing algorithm, which is an asymmetric memory-hard PoW algorithm based on the generalized birthday problem. It relies on high RAM requirements to bottleneck the generation of proofs and making ASIC development unfeasible, much like Ethereum."

The part in quotes is from a yahoo or google search engine or maybe bing search engine as it look like I can get it to show up on all three search engines

I don't know if it is up to date as I stopped mining zcash years ago.
13885  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 2% fee solo mining 255 blocks solved! on: June 03, 2020, 09:36:22 PM
Looks like a block hit!!!

nice. I wish it was me.
13886  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: M20S acting up - Error 2010 on: June 03, 2020, 09:22:39 PM
yep. my eyes are shit for close up.  5 years at sea in The USN speed up my cataracts I got one at 50 the other at 53.

Left eye is corrected to 20-20
right eye is corrected to 20-80

Great for driving
Great for pc blogging .

But close up and depth perception sucks.

so 3 sets. of plugs and jacks need to be matched with that design. when I assembled it first time I did

..      ..     ..
..       ..     ..
..       ..     ..
..       ..     ..
..       ..     ..

So the controller misread all three hash boards.

the original psu was p20.

the newer p21. is 3600 watts. it is a bit higher quality then the   p20 was.

the new firmware for the m20s is excellent.

and the new tool. whatsminer 5.0.2. is great you can do all your whatsminers in one shot.

alter pools
alter speeds.

I actually would buy some if not for the riots and the Covid-19.

pangolin has. the m20s for about 1400 shipped

I am not sure if hmtech    sells full units.  but a 68 th unit doing 46 watts on normal and  doing 46th and 43 watts on low with the options available with the new whatsminer tool it is and improved product.

I need to look at the 30s or 31s gear.
13887  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: M20S acting up - Error 2010 on: June 03, 2020, 08:22:42 PM
Nice, I love stories with a happy ending!  Smiley

yeah this is the one you sold me.  and it is better than ever.

hmm china to finland to usa .  it is well travelled.
13888  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitminter bitcoin mining pool - shutdown mining 2020-07-01 website 2021-06-01 on: June 03, 2020, 05:04:10 PM
So out of interest, why have many folks moved on? Assuming hashrate about the same, all pools must pay out about the same, give or take?

pool shrinks a bit  say from 2% to 1%

this is about 6 blocks every 2 days down to 3 blocks every 2 days.

this happened a while back.

then a cold streak.  I left when this pool had back to back .99 cdf  so you hit  2 blocks in  11 days vs  less then 2 days.

during the cold streak when I left 7 of 10 blocks were .90 cdf or higher.

crazy bad variance.

A lot of us left at that time

pools share got lower then 1%

lower than 0.5%

so on and so forth.
13889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Will CPU PoW coins have a future? on: June 03, 2020, 02:40:31 PM
There are some solid precedents and reasons why CPU PoW coins have a future.
For starters there are already success stories of CPU PoW coins in the top 20 - like Monero with its Random X switch last year. I've been with Monero since it was born/forked in 2014 and after all the GPU mining project finally went with RandomX as a last ditch to fight ASICs. So far RandomX been good and going strong.
My other project, Epic Cash, is a multi ago PoW with 60% of mined shares coming from Random X, 38% from GPU oriented ProgPow, and 2% from ASIC centric Cuckoo.
The reason we picked a three algo PoW cocktail is to accommodate the broadest group of potential miners possible. We are not going after career miners with Random X although we do have people with 10+ rigs dedicated to mining.
CPU Mining increasingly makes sense, because today's CPUs like Ryzen 3900x with their 12 cores and 24 threads are common in gaming rigs, along with decent video card or two, making this ideal for gamers who want to have a hand at mining.
They are also not beastly in terms of power consumption (couple hundred watts) and there are bigger versions like Ryzen 3950X with 16 cores and 32 threads all the way to the monstrous AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X 64-Core, 128-Thread! So this is scalable for beginners to pros. In terms of compactness they are also more manageable than the huge GPU farms.
The key for long lasting potential though, in my opinion is the potential for mainstream appeal - there is already infrastructure - people already got rigs and laptops with reasonably powerful CPUs and all they need is some crypto with enough potential for them to want to mine it.

my xmr rigs

4x 3900x.   44000
1x 3950x.   16000
1x 3960x.   24000
1x 3970x.   28000

total hash rate = 112,000. yeah I like xmr
13890  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: June 03, 2020, 01:34:51 PM

This is interesting I bold typed it.

Also last one has a point I could see someone dumping 25000 s9's and converting to s19's.

They have a ton of coins  and are cashing coins quicker than they are mining them. This allows them to order and pay for the s19's.
13891  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: M20S acting up - Error 2010 on: June 03, 2020, 03:10:13 AM
Shout out to the guys at https://hmtech.co/  (919) 283-2715

So second m20s psu died.

I will try to get it running.

I blew the psu. I got a new psu.  and it said P21 the controller said fuck you I want a p20.

i know that was exactly what happened with first miner.

so i flash the h6 controller and i now have a bricked or quasi brick controller.

i used h6 controller firmware.

from 2020 4 18.

tool said you did a successful upgrade.

I boot 🥾 and I get message no p21 psu.

and the tool says.  miner v_unknown.

so I need to get back to hmtech.com and ask how to correctly flash the controller.

I flashed the first dead unit months  ago with older firmware.

I flashed this second unit today with the newer firmware and newer tool and i have a dead unit.

i spent about five hours on it today. will try contacting hmtech tomorrow.

He directed me to a code listing

I had codes

201  = wrong psu

but I had

410
411
412    they mean board connector has an issue.

so bang open it up looked closely ,

reset the 3 way bridge from boards to controller,   < edit for clarity

and we are whaling better than ever!!!

70th vs 68th

really nice on low speed  about 43 watts a th and not crazy loud.

13892  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS new miner list 2020-5-27, EXW shenzhen,China price on: June 03, 2020, 02:48:37 AM
Grace did a lot of telegram sales.

I spoke via pm here and this person does appear to be grace.

If you want to deal with her most likely it is okay.

I would double check with offord scott to verify her.

I can say this while I have done deals with offord scott and trust him to some degree.

I have not done deals with grace.

If you do a deal do it with alibaba.  she wont take paypal from me as it can be hard for a chinese seller to acquire paypal.
13893  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: June 02, 2020, 02:52:27 PM
It should bounce up again before the weekend.

but so far it is lower now 9517.
13894  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Post halving life - What are you doing with the farm? on: June 02, 2020, 02:19:58 PM
my 28 s9's are coming out of the loop

I made some into low power "space" heaters.

They are quiet and use 300-500 watts a unit.

My deal works  with any gear 60 watts or less.

½ the coins go to me and  buysolar the other ½ the coins go to the warehouse guy and his son.

He is better off if all the gear is under 40 watts
I am better off if I buy cheaper less efficient gear.

I balance the gear.

10 s9's are still running 18 are off.

I replaced the 18 s9's with 2 s17pros and 1 t17+

dropped about 190th in s9's and gained about 160th in better gear. net drop in hash of 30th

I had a dead mono cpu setup in the warehouse and my second m20s died.

They will be repaired and I will bring them back to the warehouse.

I was pretty well prepared for the ½ ing

the covid-19 pandemic
the race riots  .  I am not as ready for.

Our warehouse is in Clifton NJ  closer to areas that are having looting and riots.

If I wake up with a phone call telling me the warehouse was attacked and looted .

I could lose  1800th of BTC gear.
I could lose     10gh of LTC gear.
I could lose    12gpus for mining
I could lose      2 pc's
I could lose multiple pdus ,switches , routers.

This gear is all paid off

you could say buying 30 units 15 t19 and 10 t17+ gives you  the btc hash back

and you would be a little better off power wise

that is about 40k not counting trump tax.

I would think my loss of gear would push  60k

assuming the warehouse guy wants to still mine if that disaster happens.

So covid-19 and riots are bigger issue then the ½ ing.

If I was only dealing with   ½ ing I would have ordered at least 1 or 2 t19 units.

Shut off the rest of the s9's and mine on.
13895  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Now that usb sticks are being sold by sidehack here is a new usb hub thread. on: June 02, 2020, 01:56:59 PM
419mining and MineFarmBuy both offer a rock-solid 8A brick alongside the GS hub. It's not included by default because the GS hub can work off an ATX supply also, and can handle higher power than an 8A brick will provide if you ask it nicely.

I use an atx psu an evga 750 watt model p2

I run 2 sticks and an r606 with the psu along with an and ryzen 9 3900x cpu mining monero

I use sidekick's product to mine btc solo

this setup burns very little power 250-300 watts max
13896  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: The time horizon of mining capital investment on: June 02, 2020, 11:26:51 AM
Well with the 1/2 ing I was running 28 s9's. knowing they would be shut down when the 1/2 ing came.

They were all paid for and were 2 to 3 years old.  Why not run them until the bitter end so to speak.  they are about 315 th.

I purchased 170th of new gear due to arrive a few days before the 1/2 ing.

The 1/2 ing came I shut down 28 of the s9's. and put up the new gear.

Net hash loss of 145th. But the new gear is 37watt per th vs 83 watts a th.

Down the road I will get more new gear.

One last thing prior to the 1/2ing I had 1800 th total gear of which about 1480 was new 37 to 50 watt gear.

I will bide my time and wait for a chance to buy more gear.  I still have 21 of the s9's in storage just incase of a price spike.

we are over 10,100 and the diff is going to drop 10% on thurs.  Almost makes the s9's worth turning back on.
13897  Other / Off-topic / Re: Interesting way to resist sexual lust on: June 02, 2020, 04:12:36 AM
It's part of the nature of men.

Women know exactly how to attract men's eyes.
The opposite thing happens as well.

Everyone get tempted at some point of their life, to resist just change your thinking.
Or do something that can revert your attention.

On the animal level a male human can get one or two women pregnant every day from age 13 to age 43 or even 50 then slowly taper off with age.

So as a male designed with a body that can do this managing the urge is important.

I know a guy with 23 kids. One wife and 19 pregnancies.

I would say he had a lustful relationship with his wife.

I also don’t think is was clever of him to make this many babies.  But I guess he wanted to fornicate and his wife let him.

My self I am married since 1986 and I only go with my wife.

At 63 controlling lust is not a problem for me.

At 30 ,35,40,45 it was more difficult. Grin

13898  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain introduces Antminer T19 84Th on: June 01, 2020, 09:48:22 PM
YEAH  they make them pretty crappy.   I have done amazing well  with the s17 and t17 variants.

As of today 100% are working but my sample size is small.

17 s17pro

1 s17

2 t17
2 t17e
2 t17+

1 s17+

every one is working.

I struggled with the one t17+

and the two t17e are very power hungry.

But I am happy with mt 17 series purchases.

Now as for this t19   84 th x 37.5 = 3150 watts

No need to run them like that.

set it to 80th  reduce freq just a touch and let gear do 35 watts a th.

you burn only 2800 watts

gear will work better be quieter and all in all a better deal for customer.

But we are back to the common situation for mining btc.  bitmain has the most efficient gear again.  they still maintain a strangle hold on the industry.

and much like Minneapolis police did the other day they are slowly squeezing the life out of BTC .  They just don't care or value BTC it is just something to abuse in order for them to be more powerful.

My money power set up is a 50-50 coin split.

so this is t19 is like a 42th free power machine.

I have a coupon  so 1743-243 = 1500 + 150 to ship = 1650  trump tax could be 400

so at 2050  42th earns 3.78 USD a day or 542 days

at 1650 earning 3.78 = 436 days

plus wait 21 days or so for it to show up.  not attractive at all.

I have other issue.  All my gear is in a warehouse in Clifton NJ.  There have been many many many many riots the last week.  Over the public killing by 4 police officers in Minneapolis, Minnesota .  New Jersey Has had a few hundred demonstrations and some became violent with property destruction.

I won't be buying gear for a while until the unrest settles a bit.

I hate to see our farm and the warehouse be looted and burned. While a bit off the beaten path in Clifton NJ it still is a possibility.

So I will wait things out for a while.
13899  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain introduces Antminer T19 84Th on: June 01, 2020, 09:07:32 PM
Nope  it is merely marketing ploy.

If the set speed is freq 700  and volts 19

having a freq 550  and volts 17.5 would be stable.

I have not found a single bitmain product that runs poorly on a proper down clock + voltage drop.

this includes

usb stick
s1
s3
s5
s7
s9
s15
s17pro

all of the above are good with lowered hash and power.

many if not all of the ant miner gear  are more stable with reduced output.

mind you my sample was for about 500-750 pieces of gear in total.
