13942  Other / Meta / Re: HOLY FUCK !!!! THE SCAMMER IS ALSO A PLAGIARIST OF GIANT MAGNITUDE - SIG BAN NO on: May 25, 2020, 06:35:58 PM
At least on how I see things that would happen. There is in fact that plagiarism has happened with several posts from Lauda, what would likely be the outcome is she will be banned because of it but also she will be unbanned because of a ban appeal (she will have) which would most likely be approved since people will argue about the contributions she had for the forum. A ban really should happen hear if the mods would like to avoid any kind of retaliation from permabanned members and their friends on how Lauda will be getting a free pass for this, at least a due process on an appeal should be fair for all of us.

I think lauda will be signature banned for a long time.

I think lauda will get a temp ban for 30,60,90 days.

But I am pretty much a moron and out of the loop of the  insiders here on BTCTalk.
13943  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Considering hosting miners for others, what kWh rate would generate interest? on: May 25, 2020, 03:05:18 PM
Hard Facts is more often wrong then correct.

But the idea 💡 hosting is difficult.

The op is looking to use “free” gas. As waste gas occurs in some operations.

No one is willing to setup all the gear needed to move the gas to homes.

So his gas price is not going to rise.

But dropping in a few containers.
setting up a few generators does cost money.

If you do this correctly you need an idle generator.

Two active generators.

Your rotate them for maintenance .

The op has poor internet and is in rural new york which is empty and rugged land.

It will take effort to do this.

Also generators don’t last.

So they become a constant expense.

Full rebuilds every 2 years.
plus constant maintenance.

since the mine is in the middle of an under developed area how close will your workers be.

Buysolar and I almost got an ideal place 26 acres less then 5 miles from our homes.

We would have been able to build 2 megawatts of solar which is 333kwatts.

Buysolar would have moved from one home to the other place.
I would have a ten minute  drive to do proper maintenance.

I would like to see op develop it for himself and see how it goes.
13944  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 2020 Democrats on: May 25, 2020, 02:40:31 PM
We live in a criminal state run by two gangs democrats and republicans.

The state was created using black slaves and murdering native americans.

Any idea that voting and a democracy is real is a sad joke.

When Bush was leaving he came up with the fuck democracy law that the senate must vote 60-40 not 51-49.

this was passed via a 50-50 tie with dick Chaney acting as the tiebreaker.

so the senate must pass shit 60-40

when obama got in people were so tired of bush and chaney they elected 60 senators as democrats and 62% of congressman were democrats.

so obama had the house and the senate.

in under one year one of the 60 democratic senators said i am switching to republican.

that is the day a american  democracy  died.

All the discussion here is why the bs never ends as any republican and any democrat is too wrapped in party belief to see the picture below:

We never really were a democracy and we won’t become one.

In 2016 I voted for Donald Trump and for Hillary Clinton.
in 2020 I will vote For Donald Trump and for Joe Biden.

I will do so legally and cast my ballets in person on my towns voting machines.

No fraud involved.

the s17pro. we have 17 of them. I wish it was the only gear we have it is far better then any of the other gear.

I was checking prices today and the s17e is still at 799.

It was at 799 when coins were at 9700.
It is at 799 and coins are at 8700.

Now is not the time to buy this gear.
13946  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: May 25, 2020, 04:53:53 AM
Yea, hashrate is trickling down. I see about 6% drop atm so 10% isn't out of the question if fees keep dropping along with market rate.

2020 has been an amazingly  bad year so far.

For a lot of things.  besides. difficulty.

Although so far it is behaving exactly like LTC did last year.

If it mirrors that we drop to 3500-5000 and a diff of only 4 -6

I don't think we do that bad.

But I can see under 7k and under a diff of 9
13947  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: May 25, 2020, 01:23:39 AM
No relief on the price front: $8790 per BTC coin.

I expected this .

It is the flip flop of diff chasing price. We sometimes get price chasing diff.

That 8790 is like 4395 if it were april.

Now that price is chasing diff  do we get a stronger drop of diff?

I would hope to see an eight teen day jump which is over 25%

and price settle near 8k.

That could give us a third drop in diff. maybe 10%.

we could go under 10.0 with some luck.

I also see bitmain dropping price on gear by tuesday or weds this week.

As bad as all this seems stay strong. Prep for better mining ⛏ down the road.

And get ready for wave two of covid-19

Brazil is about to explode with death 💀 in Rio.

God help us all.

I just want to be typing here next April fools day.  I am going to try to come up with a good one ☝️.

nice hash has always been flakey.

Now that I am building modded 2 board s9's with braiins designs to run quiet and on 120 volts.

A lot of people want to run them on nicehash and on solo.ckpool

I sold  pairs of them   and one will be point to solo one will be pointed to nicehash

they are space heaters first.  miners second.

I set them at 8.05 volts and freq 300

I swap out the fans which makes gear quiet and caps top speed at

8.4 volts and  freq 450

fans are set to 50%. which is 1600-1700

and you have a 350-360 watt space heater.

If you want those servers work i think you need disable "ASICBOOST".

yeah. that did not work.

but using asic boost checked  with the sha256asicboost.eu.nicehash.com:3368. worked

maybe  a bug. in that when you look to turn the asic boost off it does not work.

Power cost is 0. This is running in a data center we acquired and have empty floor space until the lease is up at the end of the year.  We are trying to put some use to the space while we have it.

you are close enough to perfect.  you could try hand tuning each one manually.

or you could try

1400 auto tune
1375 auto tune
1350 auto tune
1325 auto tune
1300 auto tune.

each machine will have a favorite setting.

your temps are high enough that using a lower watts could be better for you.

Hey I have a question for anyone running nicehash what are you pool setting I can not get my braiins to hook up to nicehash.
13952  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Public Auction - 20MW US Mining Datacenter - All Servers + All Electrical on: May 24, 2020, 03:50:30 PM
Does the building come with it or do you have to remove everything from the building?

Jeez! You guys really have the funds to at least 'contemplate' bidding on something like this?

My own views would be to build a solar farm first then add miners Smiley

brad

Well my opinion is that nobody would invest in a solar system of 20MW just to mine with a 286PH worth of hash rate, the cost of solar arrays alone would be about 3$ per watt, say he gets it for 2$ given the size of the system, so roughly 2 million dollars per MW, or 20M for the whole system, if he is going to go on-grid to not have to deal with batteries, he will need about a 5 times larger system, it just can't work.

Well Solar in the correct place with government incentives makes some sense.

It must always be grid tied. As batteries are too costly.

A 20 mega watt setup. which provides 3.33 mega watt 24/7/365 via grid tie in.

Can be built for 10-12 million.  That would be the panels and inverters only.

Labor here in NJ would be 100-200k.  so lets say 12.5 million

But.
you need many acres of good land to do this. Say 120-150 acres due to set back.
you need a building with lots of fans to cool the equipment.

You also need a power grid to tie into that can handle 20 megawatt at peak

Lastly you need to show the power company you need. 3.33 megawatts 24/7/365

The only way to show you need 3.33 megawatts is to setup a mine that  uses 3.33 megawatts

that is 2.222 kwatt per s17pro. or. 1500 s17pro. would do the load. you need to do it for 6 months.

so buy 1500 s17pro at 1200 each =
 around 2 mill
mine for 6 months at maybe 12 cents here in NJ

that is 14398560  kwatts used or 1.73 million

so now. six months in

you purchased the land at 1 million if you are lucky
you went with. containers say 10 ant box n5 about 400,000
you grabbed the s17pros 2 million
you paid power for 6 months say 2 million

that is 5.4 million
add in hookup to the grid you could be close to .6 million

some land prep and development. and you are six months and 6 million in.

you have your 1500 s17 pros
you have your 10 ant box 5

and you can now build the array say it takes 3 months.

so add 1 million for 3 months more grid power.  you are up to 7 million.

you have mined with 79500th say 80ph for nine months. which is 2,000,000 in coin

you now get to put down 12 mill maybe 13 mill to do the solar build

so after 9 months you have 2,000,000 in coin
and 1500 s17 pros
and 10 ant box filled with them
along with the 20 mega watt field that yields 3.33 mega watts.

you laid out about 19 to 21 million

you get 26%  back federal so 5.46 million fed

so drop the 21 to 15.5  take off 2 for the coins you have and you are at 13.5 take 9% off for NJ rebate about 1.9 million

and you are down to 13.5-1.9 = 11.6 million

you can mine for free

well maintenance of 30 year insured gear. the solar array.

there were more rebates but with covid-19.  they could be killed off.

This deal looked better last year before covid-19

13953  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Please vote for Bitmain to enable Low Power Mode for T17, T17E, T17+, S17E, S17+ on: May 24, 2020, 03:12:08 PM
All the s17 and t17 variations could allow for voltage change and freq change.

I have had very good luck fucking with the t17+. that overheats the middle board.

I can get the gear to attempt 17.3 volts. rather then 18.3 volts.

More often then not it sticks on 17.3 volts. giving me 3 working boards and much less power use.

I would argue that they could be sued over denying this option.  You need at least 100 miners with the gear in the state of California to do a lawsuit against them.

California succeeded in forcing them to load no pool. in the new miners all pools come empty.

This lawsuit I mention would have merit as it is intentionally wasting power.

I am under the belief that in California you need at least 100 victims to sue as a class action.
Since I only read about law and I am not a lawyer I could be wrong about how many victims you need.

I am not wrong that they did sue over pre filled pools on s9's and as a result bitmain no longer sends miners with edit : pre filled pools.

Here is a perfect case of don’t permaban this offender.

there is a huge chance he read and condensed the first post into his mind and did not plagiarize.

As I see it this person should be either warned or a short ban.

I make the assumption that this is his or hers only offense. or gray rephrased statement.

If i was to say :

.” bitcoin is great i can leave an unstable country and not have to smuggle the money on my person.  my wealth is portable.”

would i be guilty of stealing an idea 💡 .

no I would be stating facts that are true.

much like the poster did in this post.

facts are facts.

ideas are created and need to be credited.

What time does wallmart open in howell nj.

“Wallmart is open 24 hours a day in howell nj.“

thats a fact. a well known one. at least to people that live near howell,nj

i don’t care if it is exactly what two or three hundred people have said. Its a fact.

If I say “walmart never opens in Howell, NJ 07731 because it never closes”

I am stating a fact in way that could make you laugh.

If you lift that without saying philipma1957 said it you are closer to being guilty of plagiarism.

Since it may be an original fact created today by me.

These are finer points of plagiarism which is why permaban is not the way to go.

It should be the second or,third choice not the first one.
13956  Other / Meta / Re: Report plagiarism (copy/paste) here. Mods: please give temp or permban as needed on: May 24, 2020, 04:14:10 AM
yeah, im on the boat with sigban 2+ and temp as well.  The evidence is clear.

There has to be some repercussion for ones actions....    no matter how good of a person they seem to be.

To be frank:  I have met some of the nicest felons before.... that doesn't change the facts of their actions.

I had a very close friend from 14 to 15.

He got into heroin when he was 16 and he stabbed his girlfriend in her throat with a pencil ✏️

She bleed to death.  He truly was a nice person yet he made a mess out of her life and his own.
13957  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If War breaks out between China and the US, can China hack Bitcoin? on: May 24, 2020, 03:50:34 AM
IF war with China should happen this summer with the UNited States,,, could China hack Bitcoin if it had to regardless of cost?

If your grandma had testicles would she be your granddad?

Does my question my question seem stupid?

Your question is not stupid but it is pretty much not worth answering.

BTC is worth 180,000,000  180 billion dollars.

China has a multi trillion dollar budget.

BTC is a small fly on the wall.  Okay  a small mouse on the floor.

Would you be looking to kill that mouse if a tiger was in your house.

FUCK no you would deal with the Tiger.   Killing off the mouse and giving it to the Tiger won't help you very much.

Also if China really went to War directly with the USA and the rest of the world just watched it happen  most of the world world would die. Nukes would get used since USA has 333,333,333 and China has 999,999,999   USA loses the war if it is with knives pistols rifles

So that leaves biological  weapons or chemical weapons or nukes  any of them just fuck up the whole world.

So don't worry bout it.

btc can not work as a stand alone store of value.

LTC and DogeCoin solve all issues>

I can move 1,000,000 Doge coin for about 2 doge which is under ˝ of 1 us penny cost to move 2544 USD worth of the coin.

The issue is not that of btc and miners.  The issue it that of people that do not understand the value of other coins.

Alt coins are important part the the structure of the crypto market.

It is very sad the op posted what he did.

If he believes it is true he is simply lost in ignorance.

If he lied to push his own agenda he is an evil puppeteer .

At op I hope you are simple a victim of ignorance as you can learn truth about the wonderment of the multiverse of cryptocoins.

here is dogecoin

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dogecoin/

it is merge mined with LTC and has a very protected network due to the vast amount of LTC mining gear.

Here is a Dogecoin account I use

https://dogechain.info/address/DKYP3RRoaempZAjLbDmRUDzQ8AP8NtDGnQ

it moves coins fast safe and cheap   thanks to the wonderful miners of LTC + Doge that merge mine it day after day.

13959  Other / Meta / Re: Report plagiarism (copy/paste) here. Mods: please give temp or permban as needed on: May 24, 2020, 03:01:15 AM
Also back 2015 no one gave a shit about the issue.

Actually, we did. Other mods and I have banned many a plagiarist even earlier than that (definitely as early as 2013).

I have seen permabans for plagiarism based on four or five  words in a row.

I would be pretty sure that bans done from 2010 to 2015 were not like some of the ones done over the last year or two.

I helped and argued for two or three people helping them to have their bans lifted due to really over done plagiarist charges.

I will rephrased my statement to this

Before 2015 I did not track these bans.  I did not give a shit about them because I had not seen the ridiculous bans I have seen since 2018.

I helped

bittawm

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=144811

with his appeal

tvplus0017 can't remember the name was helped by me and others

because the bans were not fair

I don't think anyone should be banned permanently for plagiarism on first offense.

But a 30 or 60 or 90 day temp ba and a 1 or 2 year signature ban with the signature reading" I am signature banned due to plagiarism"

 seems fine to me.

The case I make  for lauda punishment is a signature ban 1 or 2 years plus
a temporary ban 1 or 2 or 3 months.

and take back quite a few permabans done to other people.

Lets go to 1 2 3 strikes you are out on plagiarism.

note i edited stakes to strikes.

and we really should look at some of the permabans done. as some were wrong.
