13981  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-06-15] TheGuardian: Reddit users flee to Swiss copy Voat on: June 17, 2015, 08:58:47 AM
So what is the fuzz all about? A small group of people who hate fat/black people left? Why would we want to care about that? It's not acceptable anywhere else, why do reddit need to tolerate it?
You have the freedom to choose. VoAt has already started to moderate some OTHER stuff too, so it's just a question of time before they ban racism content.
A “a censorship-free community platform” is a myth. If it was possible things like child porn and snuff content would be posted everywhere. Illegal stuff gets moderated, just deal with it.
13982  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-06-16] Chinese Mining Pools Propose Alternative 8 MB Block Size on: June 17, 2015, 08:34:15 AM
So we are now held randsom by the Chinese mining pools on the development level? To my knowledge they need more than 90% to have a say, not 60%.
They are a bit biased in what they are asking for because it would benefit them.
The Core developers need to balance the needs of the miners and the needs of the Bitcoin users.
The Bitcoin Core VS Bitcoin XT is going to be a touch decision, if it comes down to that.
13983  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-06-16] CD: Santander: Blockchain Tech Can Save Banks $20 Billion a Year on: June 17, 2015, 08:24:54 AM
The part that might be the most important is this : < Other "attractive features" of the technology include transaction irreversibility, near-instantaneous clearing and settlement and a reduced margin of error, as individual transactions are openly verified by a community of network users. >
The problem with this is, we as the consumer will never see the benefit of these savings. The saving will benefit the shareholders and investors and the consumer will still be exploited with high fees.
13984  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MovieTickets.com Brings Bitcoin to Over 900 US Movie Theaters on: June 17, 2015, 08:14:46 AM
How will they incentivize people to pay with Bitcoin and not fiat or credit cards?
I would offer a 5% discount on all tickets bought with Bitcoin or a FREE soda, if you show that you paid with Bitcoin.
In future when this goes mainstream, movie theaters will have to employ less staff, because most tickets would be bought online. This is a saving for them and it might even reduce the ticket price for the consumer.
Bitcoin can make things so much easier, if they do this the right way.

13985  Economy / Speculation / Re: [POLL] You'll sell your BTC @ what price ? on: June 17, 2015, 08:05:12 AM
I do not have a set selling price, but I would be tempted to sell around $1000 to $2000. On that price, I would have made a pretty good profit on the coins I have bought and I would rub it under the noses of the people who laughed at me, when I bought it.
I would keep some, just for the small chance that it might go to the moon. $10 000 to $100 000. ^Hope^
Selling every coin at a high price, would be stupid.
13986  Economy / Economics / Re: Greece has made an important concession on: June 12, 2015, 11:47:23 AM
If your pension payout was calculated on a salary that you should not have received, due to corruption are you still eligible to receive it for the rest of your life? They should just recalculate the pension benefits given to all the corrupt officials and give them, what they should have paid out, without the corruption. How many of these corrupt officials, receive huge pensions monthly, based on incorrect salaries given to them, when they were still working? Greece is a wonderful country, but they have huge problems.
13987  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-06-11] ArsTechnica: Jihadist US teen faces prison for blog, tweets about.. on: June 12, 2015, 11:34:51 AM
It was on our local news too, and I have no sympathy for him. He knew what he was doing and being a teen makes no difference. If he was not guilty, why would he plead guilty on the charges brought against him? The Americans are doing anything in their power to prevent another 911 in their own country. I do not support any action, that may result in the murder of innocent people, not even the deaths caused by the indiscriminate bombing by the Americans. Do what you need to do, to prevent human fatalities.
13988  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin vulnerable? on: June 12, 2015, 11:22:29 AM
So nobody has generators / Solar powered UPS's / etc. etc? A huge solar flare or something similar could cause that, but there are still alternatives. We have many ways of generating alternative power. <Wind / Waves>
We recently saw the "Power Wall" being introduced by Tesla and the technology to store electricity are getting better day by day. If the main power grid goes down, people would still be able to generate alternative electricity, totally removed from the main grid.
13989  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 175 Quadrillion Zimbabwean Dollars Now Equals 0.02164502 BTC on: June 12, 2015, 09:56:02 AM
Zimbabwe should first get rid of their biggest problem >> Robert Mugabe <<
When that is done, they should replace the whole government that was placed their by him.
Then they can start to rebuild their country and their currency. I have visited them on two occasions and they have huge potential for tourism and economic growth. As long as Mugabe and his friends are ruling there, things will be bad for that country. Bitcoin will make very little difference, the people already use M-pesa.
13990  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MasterCard makes the case that it’s safer and faster than Bitcoin! LOL on: June 11, 2015, 12:51:23 PM
I look at it from this angle :
Fiat is shifted with MC and with the right partner or service, Bitcoin could be shifted immediately, without the need for confirmation on the Blockchain. For example <Offchain> Xapo. So is speed still a issue, when you compare apples with apples?
Secondly, MC is a vehicle for fiat money over the internet and Bitcoin in comparison use wallet providers to secure it. The vulnerability is not with Bitcoin but with the many different wallet providers being used.
Compare apples with apples.
13991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SATOSHI = SKYNET on: June 11, 2015, 12:24:00 PM
I read everything up to your last post, and then it turned ridiculous. I could still agree with you about the going back into the history from the future to create a ground breaking new digital currency and then disappearing to cover your tracks, but the omnipotent God thing, was a bit over the top. Stop with the weed smoking, when you watching Terminator my friend. ^Ha Ha Ha^
13992  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-06-08] CS - Updated: The first song ever copyrighted on the blockchain on: June 11, 2015, 12:03:09 PM
This is why I am still exited about Bitcoin and the blockchain. Every transaction I make leave a small fingerprint of my existance on the Blockchain. Long after I am gone, people would still be able to track my digital footprints.  Grin
22HERTS claim to also be the first band, who sold their album for Bitcoin. <Popular believe, says it was 50cent>

I like the idea, and many struggling artist would agree, not to pay $50 to a copyright service to recieve a little certificate with no value. The Blockchain does this virtually for free. In the example above, they used 0.0001 to do the same thing. At today's value =  US $ 0.02343. What service would you use?
13993  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1992 on: June 11, 2015, 08:38:27 AM
I actually don't believe that bitcoin is going to gain widespread adoption. I don't expect everyone to get a wallet. At least, not in its current version. The majority of people don't want to know what finance is. They don't care how their bank account works so long as it does. They don't care how money gets from point A to point B so long as it does. Therefore, mass adoption will mean no one actually knows that they are relying on Bitcoin.

All these hot girls with thousands of followers are going to be BTC rich in the future...

I can already see it. <You have hot girls on a live streamium and a tipping system built in for viewers to do live tipping>
Like in a strip show, where the guys give cash, and the more they pay, the more clothing gets removed. The perv's will pay their salaries to these hot girls, to go completely naked. Stuff like this will happen, because people are getting bored with what is out there at the moment and they want a interactive experience within their own homes for more privacy.

Who is going to pay me for the idea? I want royalties. Let the Satoshi's fly!
13994  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-06-09] CNN Money: Your bank account: The next thing to go obsolete on: June 10, 2015, 10:04:58 AM
Let the banks deal with financing loans and the safe keeping of valuables  in vaults. There will always be a use for them, because they have security infrastructure in place to protect valuables . They should leave our personal savings alone, it only cause more animosity with the public, when they screw with that. I lost all trust in them with the last banking crysis. ^hate^
13995  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we being Shamwowed? on: June 10, 2015, 09:44:26 AM
What exactly is "shamwowed"? I looked it up on Google but all I got was Shamwow Super Absorbent Towels.

On a lighter note, you got lucky, I got this >> http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Shamwow
" To repeatedly strike a prostitute until she stops biting your tongue. "
So I guess, the Chinese miners are doing the biting in this scenario. ^Just joking^
I have read all those articles and I am truly amazed and intrigued by the content. B.t.w I got the true meaning of Shamwowed in this instance.

13996  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1992 on: June 10, 2015, 09:32:53 AM
Yes, back in the 90's we played around with this http://www.pmail.com/ [Internet's longest-serving PC e-mail system] It was free and the company I worked for at the time, were using Dos. Most of the people working there, thought it was a waste of time, but they laughed all the way to the bank, when the telephone cost was reduced by 67%. We became the hero's of the company and now everyone is using email.
Bitcoin will follow the same path, and we will laugh at those who laughed at us. ^Ha Ha Ha^
13997  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thailand and Bitcoin - Rising Power? on: June 10, 2015, 09:23:43 AM
I doubt a lot has changed since this article was posted on 20 August 2014 :
http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-ban-fear-fades-thailand-exchange-launch/
The last I heard of any bans on Bitcoin in Thailand was back in 2013. The last news update on one of their exchanges was in March of this year, so I guess they still active.

13998  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Are The Financial Elite Saying About Bitcoin? on: June 09, 2015, 05:55:44 AM
Of all of those, I value the opinion from Peter Thiel the most. He has a clue what a payment system should be and he has previous experience with his inputs in PayPal.
Mark Cuban is arrogant and should stick to sport. I watched him on Shark tank, and when things gets a bit technical, he starts to loose the plot. He can be brilliant, but he needs someone to explain the tech in detail for him to grasp it.
Warren Buffett will look like a fool in 5 years time, because his old school thoughts tie him down.
13999  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time to pack it up on: June 09, 2015, 05:43:59 AM
They will bash Bitcoin, because they opened up a competing technology. I think it is called MasterPay.
They are in the attack phase now, because the ignore strategy did not work. We are not going away, and we will disrupt their business model. Uhmmm we already did, for them to come up with this new instant payment system.
14000  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Satoshi was revealed to be Charles Manson on: June 09, 2015, 05:34:53 AM
This makes me think of the <Pinky and the Brain> animated series, where the brain wanted to rule the world.
We would never know, but some underground organization might be behind it.
The http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illuminati had a hand in the fiat system, and they are brilliant and very clever people. Why not Crypto currencies? Where is the Kill SWITCH?
