Awesome work Joe! Smiley

https://poolinfo.systms.org has been updated to v1.4.4.1 and is fully synced now.

Here's the chain I've used to get poolinfo up to date, the chain is on block 1479485 - hash 6af89d09fb27f7cfb2f0a9faf53005e41e84f9679e8b6a79fff27dbf7f2da26a

https://poolinfo.systms.org/blockchain-1_4_4_0-1479485.tar.gz

And Happy birthday Magi Smiley

I can't use your blockchain

Code:
dev@server:~$ magid --daemon
Magi server starting
dev@sd-49766:~$ Magi: Error initializing database environment /home/dev/.magi! To recover, BACKUP THAT DIRECTORY, then remove everything from it except for wallet.dat.

are you using different leveldb?

only copy the blocks file

The chain data here:

http://coinmagi.org/bin/block-chain/

is not up to date yet (1111331), but I decided not to delay the release. Pls connect to 104.128.225.215 to get sync to the latest block. I'll restart 104.128.225.215 sometime in the morning so that we can have the latest chain / wallet up. Pls connect to the backup server 45.35.251.73 too.

I believe we can do "addnode" from now on. Wait until 104.128.225.215 is updated. I'll post.

Wallet version v1.4.4.1. All having v1.4.4.0 already running, pls update ASAP.

I donwloaded all new files.. my sync message last block generated 274 days , in linux and win7, is this ok?

m-wallet version v1.4.4.1

If you were using version prior to v1.4.4.0, the old block chain data must be deleted before launching the new wallet:

v1.4.4.1
=============
This release solves the recent blockchain forking issue, including the follow changes:

- Synchronizing checkpoint & master server introduced; this is to remove constantly checking on the misbehaving and IP banning, along with the error "block with too little proof-of-stake or proof-of-work". The checkpoint master server and keys remain to be used from now on; they are likely to be removed in the future;

- Implemented a block generation rule: PoW / PoS blocks are mined / minted by following a pattern: 1) at least two PoS blocks minted between two consecutive PoW blocks, or PoW blocks generated every 10 minutes; 2) at least one PoW block is found in five consecutive PoS blocks, or PoS blocks generated every 3 minutes;

- Difficulty adjustment will be changed to four-block exponential moving average. When there is violation in aforementioned PoW / PoS generation rule, the difficulty remains unchanged.

The following hard forks are scheduled to implement the changes:

- block 1481500: PoW / PoS block generation rule, and also exit point of the maintenance mode;
- block 1482000: difficulty adjustment algorithm switch.

Nodes:

- 104.128.225.215
- 45.35.251.73

Blockchain download:

http://coinmagi.org/bin/block-chain/

- Windows: unpack the files and run the wallet directly;

- Mac OS: unpack the files and copy to the Application folder, and then run the wallet directly;

- Linux: unpack the files and run the wallet directly.

For a fast startup:

1) Download latest block-chain data from here: http://coinmagi.org/bin/block-chain;
2) Unzip the file and copy the folders under "m-block-chain" into the .magi (unix-like system) or Magi (OS X or Windows) folder;
3) Launch the new wallet.

If you were using version prior to v1.4.4.0, the old block chain data must be deleted before launching the new wallet:

1) Backup wallet.dat;
2) Delete all of the contents under the .magi (unix-like system) or Magi (OS X or Windows) folder, except for wallet.dat and magi.conf;

thanks Bro, upgrading

We have had the updates in place. We are ready to get the fix on the main chain rolling and hence the new wallet.

v1.4.4

The follow changes were made with hard forks scheduled to take effect:

0. Sync checkpoint & master server: currently rebuilding blockchain
1. PoW & PoS checking starting at 1481500 (around this Friday night EST)
2. Difficulty adjustment starting at 1482000 (around this Saturday morning EST)
3. Protocol version: 71062, prior version to 71062 shall be disconnected
4. End maintenance mode height: 1481500 (PoW / PoS block reward back to normal)

We'll make the full list of binaries release Thursday night.

Pls shutdown the test wallet.

Pls make sure you're running v1.4.3.1 at this moment (http://coinmagi.org/bin/m-wallet-1.4.3.1/).

Great work Joe. Looks like new releases will come at Magi's third birthday!! 🎂😁

i Shutdown wallet, download fresh blockchain from http://coinmagi.org/bin/block-chain/, remove "blocks" and "database" folders from %appdata%\Magi\, extract "blocks" and "database" to %appdata%\Magi\, run wallet.  BUT

when my wallet was opened i lost about 50% of all my currency

There's something odd.
People are mining with the old rewards scheme already: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xmg/block.dws?1479159.htm .
This is ahead of schedule. Possibly a cause for forking?

Right amigo. It always goes in waves. Last month was hard period for Magi. But followers grow with 25% on twitter in that period. Also lots of new followers from the east part of the world. Think when all pools are up to date after tomorrow & exchanges finished with the updates & remove the maintenance Magi might surprise all crypyo-lovers.

what about mining solo? i have 4 days without block

Why don't you join a pool if you have a very low hashrate? That helps to create more blocks frequently.
In the long run though .. solo should give you as much coins as mining in a pool (in theory Smiley)

i found about two blocks per day, but now i don't found any

ok so those coming on now the reason we closed our wallets and arent staking or solo mining is joe released 1.4.3.1 but thats source and linux we are still waiting for windows version

so we shut our wallets and solo mining down because the new 1.4.3.1 wallet nodes probably will not accept our pos and pow blocks.

the pools run linux therfore have updated to 1.4.3.1 so there fine. if u solo mine or pos on 1.4.3 ur blocks probably wont be accepted by the new 1.4.3.1 so

we shut our pos and pow solo down not to waste energy or mess up the chain i personaly pool mine so im fine as long as the pool has the update which it does

I'm not sure of what's happening right now.
The main peer if v1.4.3 and many people (namely pools) are already upgrading to v1.4.3.1, which if I understood correctly disconnects older peers (also the main peer running v1.4.3!).
So what will happen in the next hours? Are we following the main peer or the upgraded wallets? I'm not sure what to do at this point. Not even sure if mining at the pools is doing any good.

Mining with pools having wallet 1.4.3.1 is ok. But, what if your wallet using old version is stacking?
Since Joe made the announcement I shut down my wallet.

This version is with protocol version greater than the prior; it connects both new and old versions. The idea is to elevate protocol version, so once we have the new wallet (with fixes), we are able to cut off all of the old version prior to 71062.

This wallet is not yet having fixes.

It's totally unnecessary to close / turn off staking / mining / wallet. Even with the new wallet with fixes, one should be able to keep staking / mining 24/7.

... And the new Wallet when Will release?

why shutting down wallet?

Because I don't know if my older wallet version will eventually fork in the next hours. And I don't need it open anyway: I can skip staking for a day or so Smiley .

ok, thanks, i will

I wasn't exactly suggesting or advising anything here Cheesy

and i wouldnt recommend solo mining on 1.4.3

cause if u find a block it probabaly wont be excepted by 1.4.3.1 nodes so ur better off pool mining

i also turned off my wallet cause i dont know if staking pos coins would be accepted either for that matter

Exactly. That's what is not very clear in what Joe wrote. Right now, I believe we are forking the chain again by using incompatible wallet versions. But the main peer (used by "everybody") is using the older one.

P.S. shutting down wallet...

why shutting down wallet?
