XBOX ONE X is Polaris-based (a bit faster than RX 580).
The thing is, it only runs signed binaries and there's no UWP app on the Microsoft store for CryptoNight mining... it's a shame, since it's a very efficient & quiet machine. 175 watts max with vapor chamber cooling.
I don't even know if there are any hacking/homebrew attempts... 4+ years have passed and PS4/Xbone are still not hacked.
There are actual miners on the xbox store if anyone didnt know. Or there WERE, seems they took them down for xbox to fix them. I highly doubt they want people mining, afterall, microsoft will have to deal with any issues if the consols break under warranty. I cant imagine either Sony or MS would condone a real useful crypto mining app, though it would be genuinely useful on the Xbox One X as it actually has a higher end GPU. Then again they had folding@home running on the PS3 so its possible they might allow something like this eventually. I can only imagine what would happen if half of the xbox one and xbox one X's in the country started mining with a nice hash type app. Suddenly you cant find any old original xboxs for under $100 anymore lol People would suddenly have warehouses full of OG xbox ones. |

Umm, Walmart says $499, not $250 You dont buy it online god damn..... Its an in store clearance price.... and many stores had/have them for $250. It wont show up on the basic product page, you'll need your own inventory script or pay for a premium inventory searching service. Many like myself bought 6 (3 per discover card) and price matched to $150/$250, kept the GTX 1060 (which were cream of the crop) and sold the desktop for $300+ on eBay. My forte is deal seeking, crypto is only a smaller venture for me. That being said, I made money AND got 6 free samsung ram gtx 1060's that can max out at +1000 in afterburner. I honestly tried to lead other crypto miners to the water, but they would not drink. They said "that's too much work". Yeah, well guess what, fuck you. This is why I get free things and you dont. |

Well, the rigs hardly use any data so you can use a very, very cheap data plan.
You can even get free data from places like freedompop. That said, a prepaid VZW hotspot will hardly cost you anything since having more than 1-2 gb of data per month probably doesn't matter.

I ended up going with 12 XFX RX 570 4GB and 10 Gigabyte RX 570 4GB.
I have 8GB versions and 4GB version of cards and im getting the same hash rate to not want to spend the extra $100-$150 mark up retailers or amazon is doing.
I will have a total of 5 Rigs each having 6 AMD cards. I will have a 6th rig with 2 cards in it used for testing, modding the bios, etc from the main groups.
The retailer's took care of the 2 limit per household issue for me so I was happy about that.
CPU, RAM, Server PSU and Breakout boards will be here within 10 days now or less.
I hope for your sake, nothing happens to the price of Eth, bandwagoner. Another mining rush just like we saw in June. |

Hi there, I'm a noob and have searched for this question without much luck. Also asked some miners I know, but none can give me a straight answer.
I have an old laptop with the aforementioned specs (1tb HDD too. mined some burst, but meh results) laying around as I switched to macOS exclusively (boo) for work.
So just wondering if there's any altcoins with potential (don't need to be $1000 yet, of course) out there that're mineable at a mediocrely decent rate with my old laptop?

The 960m in that laptop is the same chip that is the GTX 750Ti so look up 750 ti mining and you will have your result. For eth it wont be good, might be very mediocre for zcash, however. Certainly viable for mining some crypto, just wont be fast. |

I have the chance to get some Radeon 7970 cards with 6 GB of VRAM for about $50 a card.
That being said, they are GCN 1.0 and thus subject to the memory controller thrashing with the ethereum dag size issue.
Would the 6GB of VRAM alleviate that to some degree? I tried looking up info on the R9 270X 4GB (GCN 1.0 as well) and found nothing recent regarding their increased memory size in relation to the current DAG.
I can not commit to buying them if I do not know what they can do with more VRAM. Of course, they could mine Zcash and that may be what I do, since it is still very profitable.

Closest geforce card in terms of raw power is a GTS 450, it would seem the quadro 4000 is a severely cut down GTX 480. I dont know if anyone runs a card like that but id assume its pretty terrible for mining. Workstation cards are already a poor choice in general due to marginal cooling and underclocked cores/memory in comparison to their geforce/radeon counterparts.
What do you mean by "buy this card at work"? This card is trash compared to pretty much any modern card and no one in their right mind would purchase one.

After some search I have decided to get GTX 1050 TI . Now my problem is there is some versions for the same card and the price different from one to another is big for example . I could not find any comparison regarding the first card .
GALAX GeForce GTX 1050 Ti OC 4GB DDR5 = $180
MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GAMING X 4G GDDR5 = $233
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 Ti G1 Gaming 4G GDDR5 = 244
The price different between the first 1 and last 2 is really big so is it worth it to pay this extra cash ?

supposedly new version ethminer 0.11.0 "Optimized Nvidia mining" increases mining and you can get like 15-19 MH/s per this gtx 1050 ti card
Can you check this ? i waiting for delivery this gpu.
Tested on an MSI 1050 TI 100+ core and 200+ mem 13.04MH temp 49c You should be way higher than that on memory. though it looks like we might see 15 mhs on non samsung cards and 16 on samsung cards. |

Not like it matters, its super easy to get 30 mhs out of a 1070 anyway. Just increase mem clock to like +700 or whatever the card can handle. So much easier than trash AMD cards. Thank you based Nvidia. I would hope so if I paid almost twice the price of a 570. Sounds like you're trying to justify your purchase because all the AMD cards were out of stock. Or you couldn't figure out how to flash a bios and get 29 Mh/s stable. Uh dude I sold all my RX cards for $400+ on ebay each and bought 1070's for less than $400 each. This was as soon as the RX Dag issue info came out. Sorry you got stuck with those RX cards. For those of us business savvy we made out like bandits off of idiots buying RX cards at a huge markup. I run a store (TRS also) on eBay reselling so fees were hardly an issue. Like I said, "AMD trash" Every thread you are bashing AMD. Give it up already. We get you 'AMD is crap, NVIDIA rules!'
