141  Economy / Computer hardware / Selling Bitmain S4+ on: August 03, 2015, 09:27:40 PM
Hey guys. Here today to offer up a lightly used S4+ (shy over a month). If your'e trying to get a hold of one but can't, here is your shot.

A little back-round on my particular unit... as i hear its "special" (I only say this as iv'e not seen anyone acquire this hash-rate with this chip speed)

-It is currently averaging a hash-rate of 2,725Gh/s with an average temp of 75C. This is being achieved at a chip speed of just 212.5! Voltage is locked on S4+ so that has never been played with. Temps never rise into the 80's and that's with this unit in an enclosure that's around 90-100F ambient. I haven't had any issues with this unit shutting down nor any asics going down. The longest up-time iv'e had is around 10 days or so, this is due to the unit using my electric dryer circuit and me needing to power down to dry my clothes Tongue  -Otherwise i have no doubt this unit would run endlessly just as my S5 did in the same conditions. I will say in open air with ambient around 75F the unit tends to run at or under 60c so i hit the silicon lottery with this one.

*edit*

Forgot to mention my hardware errors average 0.0002% at the above mentioned hash-rate/chip-speed. It's also interesting to note that at stock chip speed and a lower temp the hardware errors averaged 0.0008%.

*edit*

Asking $1,300 shipped. Some may object to my asking price. To the uninitiated, hop on ebay and see what they go for now as they are disappearing from the internet. There is only one and it's listed for $1,900.

*Ebay $1,900

*myBTCpool $1,300 (No stock)

*bitcoinware (Stock $1,900 CAD or $1,440)

Another site I can't mention the name of is also asking $1,400 and is maintaining inventory of at least one.

Shipping from Wisconsin to anywhere in the united states. Willing to use escrow of course (OgNasty). Prefer cash or paypal deal, willing to do btc as a last resort.

Bitmain cites DH gate to purchase S4+'s right now. On their own site they list for $1,200. I know i wouldn't sell mine for less than that.
143  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Selling 11x Bitmain Antminer S4+ shipping from Germany on: July 31, 2015, 10:58:47 PM
Whoa, $1435 per miner?! That's crazy high. I guess that includes the VAT on top Sad Damn crazy high VAT! If hosting is too expensive for you we can host them for you here in Canada. I am 2 weeks away from getting the power ready. But I'm not sure how much shipping is going to be or if it will be worth it.

Not too high considering you cant buy them anymore. Even the price bitmain lists is 1,200$ IF they had anymore. They don't even have anymore S5's from batch 6. All they have now is USED S5's which they are selling for 450$.

Sorry to hear about your vehicle. I did something similar recently to my truck and man bodywork is expensive! I'm interested but would like to see some pics of it's condition when you get it online.

I have one buyer currently in the loop pending me testing the equipment when i receive it today. If he backs out though i will pm you!

Hey guys, well iv'e officially hit financial hardship. Backed into a light pole this morning and the lexus will need more work than i care to do right now. But i may have to put mining on hold for a minute. In any case i have a S4+ showing up tomorrow at my door. I may end up turning around and selling it right away. I will fire it up tomorrow and probably run it all night just to verify its working correctly.

Shoot me an offer boys!

This is one of those threads that should never have existed here anyway. He just wanted more publicity and had fully planned to sell it on eBay.

I should buy you a 'jump to conclusions' mat. With conclusions that you could JUMPto!

150  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New mining hardware for july on: June 30, 2015, 07:37:13 PM
still no specs for something that is supposed to be released next month?

Same as always, announcement goes up when batch is ready to sell. Same with S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S4+.

antpool's hashrate going up from 66 PHs to 76.57 PH/s
it's caused by testing this unit?

I doubt it. Overall hash hasn't changed much. My guess is a pool switch. Consider btcguild just shut down. Or has had it announced for June for a while now. I myself left btcguild months ago when the luck went super south. Now i reside on antpool. Many users are doing this i assume.

152  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] [EU only] ANTMINER S3 and S3+ 0.5 BTC one item on: June 30, 2015, 05:45:44 PM
Hello. I wish to buy used S3 or S3+. I'm from Romania. I will accept escrow with anyone from a bitcointalk trusted escrow list.
I will pay 0.5 BTC per miner. The seller must pay the shipping.

Don't rip yourself off. BTC0.5 is way too much.
153  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S4+ power supply on: June 29, 2015, 11:54:48 PM
You might be able to rig it at a lower frequency and different PSU.  But it was not designed with 110 in mind: "PSU built-in: 1600W (205V - 264V AC)" .  I think the S4+ PSU's are reliable it just does not designed to run on 110.

I would suggest looking at getting a 220/240 line installed before doing this idea.  I got one put in and it really was not hard.   You can call a electrician and most will give a quote for free.  Or some here do it their self (depends on local laws/codes if you can do it yourself)

Thanks, now that im looking into it, my dryer runs on a 220 circuit. I may just tap into that.

155  Bitcoin / Hardware / S4+ power supply on: June 29, 2015, 09:14:39 PM
I know this has been an issue in the past. The psu's are typically unreliable from what i read?  I'm looking for a psu that could be used with the s4+ that would run 120v. Anyone know of any? I have a "Power-one" 1300watt but it would make the cut haha.

****edit found this

Its really pricey. and looks like the oem for the s4? But the s4 will not run 120 i thought?

I have a 7950 i'd be willing to part with. The 280 is essentially a rebranded 7950.

**edit fyi its a sapphire boost edition

maybe, depending of the price, ?

Looks like they go for $125 used on amazon. Go for $100?

159  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: At what point do we stop kidding ourselves? Bye Bye mining farms. on: June 29, 2015, 05:57:26 PM
Bitcoin can add another PoW algorithm which is difficult to implement in ASIC and can be mined by most people but not botnet. This will help solve the cetralisation problem.

ASIC's make the network EVEN more secure.. if we use coins that are on GPU a super computer could dummy them..

The idea we don't want to move into ASIC's is a silly idea.

THE PROBLEM IS EVERYONE IS SEXUALLY OBBSESSED WITH PROFIT AND NOT ACTUALLY DENCETRLIZING THE NETWORK OR YOU'D ALREADY OWN AN ASIC AND BE MINING...

But you only care about profit. Don't give me this it is expensive shit either, you can buy a U3 or an S3 off of Amazon/kijiji for cheap.  It just won't turn you a massive profit so you won't get it.

No they don't you need to read this topic in its entirety. And anyone who mines is doing it with some form of asic tech. Check your facts man. wtf.
160  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Pics of Large Miner Hosting Center Under Construction on: June 29, 2015, 05:43:59 PM
This topic sure got quiet.  I presume the mining operation failed and the mine owners stole everyone's bitcoins and took off?  I saw that coming but you all ignored me and called me a troll.

How about you, Lord Taco?  I presume your half-assed attempt at opening your own bitcoin mine also met with catastrophic financial failure.

Yet another reason why farming is bad for the community.
