141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I sold everything on: December 22, 2017, 08:58:57 AM
Oh man. This is the time to buy my friend. The market is down 20% in a single day. I can understand selling if you made a profit, but if you are exiting at a marginal profit or a loss then that is a mistake. Could Bitcoin go down to $1000? Possibly. Only time will tell. I think it will go back up though. It may even surpass 20k like we all were dreaming about.
142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Collapse is Exactly as Predicted Two Weeks ago - 2 week post Goldman Sachs on: December 22, 2017, 08:38:39 AM
You better get more while you have the chance.  Grin

I thought the price would drop too. I exited some of my position at $18,000ish. Now that it is lower, I'm getting more with some of the money I took out.
143  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is a peace of shit on: December 17, 2017, 09:39:55 PM
Ok, guys. Let's start with basics. I.e. let's empasize a fact where ABSOLUTELY every currency fails now. Smiley

Try to download BTC/ETH/SHITCOIN wallet. How much time will it take to sync with network? Eternity? Smiley

Well, this should happen instantly actually, but currently it does not. Why? Cheesy

Why does downloading a wallet have to be instant? If you do it once you have it forever. If you had to do this every time you wanted to make a transaction you'd have a stronger point. I personally have never downloaded a wallet for any of my Bitcoin. I've created my own.

I would say that Bitcoin is not a piece of shit, but each is entitled to their own opinion.

Right now, Bitcoin is a pretty big deal. A lot of people will make a fortune off it and a lot of others may end up losing a crazy amount of money. The blood bath is exciting!
144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What have you done with your bitcoin in 2017 on: December 17, 2017, 09:36:23 PM
I mostly HODL. Will be planning a new strategy soon that involves selling to take advantage of volatility. The value of Bitcoin that I hold is getting scarily high and I don't want to have too many eggs in a single basket.

I do play poker on a gambling site to make even more Bitcoin. The gambling is strictly done in Bitcoin. It has worked out very well for me.

These are my top two because I don't really have anything else that I have done with my Bitcoin.
145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $0,08 in July, 2010 and $17000 today!!! What was your first price? on: December 11, 2017, 10:57:06 AM
$2,200 was my first price. I wish I had bought more. Grrrr, me being safe.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Name the coins you think can catch up with Bitcoin's price in the future? on: December 11, 2017, 09:54:38 AM
Litecoin and Ethereum are possible. If there are any other coins that pass Bitcoin, it may be possible that it hasn't been created yet.
147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN is a "Secured Investment" Yes or No? This is a Question for the SHills on: December 11, 2017, 09:51:29 AM
The moronic shills keep calling BITCOIN an investment, its NOT

An investment involves collateral, that you can always get back,

BITCOIN is a SPECULATION, its GAMBLING, its based on moronic promises and false hopes that it will go to the moon.

You can't 'secure' BITCOIN, sure you sell bitcoin for cash, use that cash as security, anywhere on earth, but nobody is going to accept your BITCOIN, other than its FACE-VALUE at the time of deposit.

Today's BTC futures is 100% is CASH US-DOLLARS

...

In summary BITCOIN is NOT an investment, its speculating, its gambling, please stop the bullshit

Even BITCOIN.ORG call's BITCOIN a "speculative investment', meaning its like betting on horses at the race tracks

https://bitcoin.org/en/faq

...

Secured means you hold title, it means you can go to court and repo your property, but BITCOIN is just a number in the sky, sure in time perhaps somebody will escrow coin, and these things do exist for RICH PEOPLE, but were talking about moronic shills trying to get rich,

The places in the mountains of Switzerland for keeping BITCOIN safe are for RICH PPL, not for the moronic day traders who live at home with their parents.

There is not enough RED WORDS in order for me to...

...BELIEVE YOU!

Bitcoin is going to the MOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

everyone else is just a sheep. MOOOOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Anyone else feel unsettled about recent price? on: December 09, 2017, 07:09:21 AM
This recent boost in Bitcoin is a pretty big deal, but I'm kind of worried because it happened so fast. A lot of people were saying 20k by the end of 2018, but it almost hit it this year just a couple days ago. It is weird thinking that just 3 weeks ago bitcoin was at $7000ish. This massive boom recently makes me worry that the market is being manipulated. Hopefully it is just demand and not manipulation. I just want bitcoin to remain healthy.
149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have You Been Scammed? on: December 04, 2017, 05:50:12 AM
No.

Anyone who promises to double your money should be an automatic red flag. That is very sketchy. Just buy, move them to a private wallet, and hold.
150  Economy / Speculation / Re: HODL bitcoin? why and why not? on: December 04, 2017, 04:42:37 AM
Do so, because trading in the short term is random and everyone makes less money trading than holding in the long run. Technical Analysis of charts does not affect future outcomes, because game theory makes you indifferent from buying or selling in the short term. If you invest do so in the long term. You can do short term buying and selling if you believe the underlying is worth a certain price and the actual price is above or below that number. I guess that is considered trading too, but what most people do with trading is going to cost them money because they overcomplicate things.

If you are bearish on Bitcoin then obviously you shouldn't invest in it. Bitcoin faces many threats. Government intervention and Bitcoin developers not delivering scalability solutions.

People on here often say that the government can't stop Bitcoin, but they don't really understand how the world works.
151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buy BTC from a FIAT loan!! on: December 01, 2017, 09:31:17 AM
This is really really stupid. Don't get a loan to gamble your money. That is complete degeneracy. Work at a job and save up some money. Transfer that money to bitcoin. If Bitcoin crashes you won't be doomed to pay interest. 13% annual interest rate is huge! Don't do this to yourself.
152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin holder's dilemma on: November 30, 2017, 09:59:22 AM
You can always pick out exit levels. Your end goal could be something like 20 million dollars. Sell 5 Bitcoin now. Then every time Bitcoin doubles, sell another one until you reach 20 million dollars.

Even better. Sell only 3 now and 1 more every time bitcoin doubles until you've reached 20 million dollars. Then keep those other 2 forever. Cheesy

Have fun.
153  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tweets on Bitcoin 10000 dollars on: November 29, 2017, 10:30:34 AM
It is way too late in the morning for me to be up, but I'm up regardless. I'm watching the Bitcoin price and it is enthralling. It is such a great thing to be a part of this. History in the making for sure. Either it will climb to even greater heights or crash. No one knows what is going to happen next and it is a great journey!
154  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10,000 RISE or FALL after the Five-Figures? on: November 28, 2017, 08:00:04 AM
I think it will probably go down after it hits past 10,000. I'm not good at trading though so I'm just gonna hold.
155  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is It Illegal To Sell Bitcoin On Craigslist? on: November 27, 2017, 08:21:01 AM
Thanks for the replies! It is great to get opinions and other perspectives so quickly.

I was thinking the only risk for me would be counterfeit money or robbery. If I sell 1 Bitcoin for $10K cash (USD) how could I be scammed? I would check the money to make sure it is not counterfeit. I also live where you can legally carry conceal a gun so I'm not worried about robbery so much. Once I see the money is legit I would send the Bitcoin. What am I missing?

Im not going to do it, but I like my thinking to be challenged.

You'll probably get a handful of people that will try and give you the run around trying to get you to send your bitcoin before they pay in cash, but let's pretend you find a guy that is willing to pay in cash. You guys meet up at a public gas station. Surprise! He brought is cousin and his friend. Turns out they are junkies and are desperate to make some money. They force you into their van. You try and be Rambo and take out the friend, but the guy and his cousin manage to get you in the van. They proceed to torture you until you give up your private key. You're a badass and don't give it up. They saw off both your legs. The cops show up and surround the vehicle. You are rescued. The guy and his cousin go to jail. You get to keep your bitcoin and you sue for a lot of money. You collect disability, but end up being in a wheel chair for the rest of your life along with PTSD.
156  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Why do people hate segwit so much? on: November 27, 2017, 06:37:00 AM
So there is a group of people that are really against segwit and I don't really understand it. Honestly, I'm not even 100% sure I know what segwit is. Basically my understanding is that it removes the signature part of a transaction so that more transactions can be sent. Also, somehow it allows atomic swapping which is a fancy way of exchanging coins quickly. So why all the hate on segwit?
157  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is It Illegal To Sell Bitcoin On Craigslist? on: November 26, 2017, 10:54:13 PM
Honestly, this sounds pretty dangerous. A lot of things could go wrong here. You could get robbed, scammed, or get charged with tax evasion. The more money involved the more dangerous it becomes. You could probably just find a Bitcoin ATM and withdraw money that way instead.
158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin valuation of $3,944,246.84 per coin :D on: November 26, 2017, 10:49:49 PM
According to this site --> http://onlygold.com/Info/All-The-Gold-In-The-World.asp
The value of all the gold in the world is worth $7,829,183,704,925

According to this site --> https://www.quora.com/How-much-money-is-in-the-world
The value of all the dollars in circulation is $75,000,000,000,000

If you add these together and divide them by the total number of Bitcoin in circulation you get what Bitcoin's true value is once it becomes widespread adopted.
(7,829,183,704,925 + 75,000,000,000,000) / 21,000,000 = $3,944,246.84 per coin Cheesy

If Bitcoin doesn't scale this big and only beats gold then its value is:
7,829,183,704,925 / 21,000,000 = $372,818.27

Right now the market shows Bitcoin trading for $9,431.95.

If you believe bitcoin has 9,431.95 / 372,818.27 = 2.53% chance of exceeding the price of gold alone you should buy bitcoin. This doesn't even take in to account that Bitcoin could become a wide use medium of exchange which would make the needed percentage even lower.

tl;dr buy bitcoin and HODL!!
159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Message to Satoshi, please dump your 1million bitcoins on: November 26, 2017, 07:15:42 PM
Satoshi, bitcoin is extremely volatile and run by organizations now, not the people. There's constant forks such as Bitcoin Cash and other garbage that shows just how jokey the coin is. The only thing worthwhile is the blockchain itself and I honestly believe this was not meant to function as a method of payment, but as a method of storage(Bitcoin's constant dramatic price changes, good and bad, show this)

My resolution? Dump all your bitcoins on the biggest exchanges and destroy the currency, then start over.

Almost no one on here wants this to happen. We have Bitcoin and want it to go to the moon. Bitcoin is awesome and I'm happy a lot of people are realizing it now.

I almost expected you to be a BCH shill. I'm glad you're not.
160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Massive Bitcoin Core smear campaign on reddit's r/btc on: November 26, 2017, 08:11:23 AM
Yup, at least you are realizing to get out now. BCH is garbage. It was pumped by a bunch of rich people and the people hanging on are hoping it will spike when it is available on coinbase in January. The pump happened, time to cut your loses people. A lot of people try and hype BCH because they lost money on that investment. They want to wait for another pump in order to not feel like they've been cheated. BCH is promoted by McAfee, a guy who made crap antivirus software, Roger ver, who's main focus is money, and Craig White, the fake Satoshi Nakamoto. The rest are filled with newcomers to Bitcoin that either joined earlier this year or not even two months ago.

Disclaimer: there are a few who have been in Bitcoin for awhile, but they are a minority of crypto enthusiasts that support BCH.
