Yeah, I'm going to go min/hoard LTC with my old LTC pool until Sunday/Monday as well and then come back.  I'd rather have it stable that continue to see the miners ramp up and down like yo-yos.  Seems like that is a bit hard on the GPU's/PSU's anyway.

Thanks for the update H20.  Have you already done some work on the US server as it doesn't seem to be switching every minute or so like it was earlier today?

It does appear that the US server is no longer switching coins like crazy.

How do you reconize a coin switch?

I am assuming it is when a new block is detected with a new difficulty.

I am trying it right now on Fedora, CGminer 3.7.2. But my hashrate per card drops from 870 to about 800...

Yeah, mine drops a bit too during coin switches but then ramps back up again.  I can live with it until H20 makes the coding changes to the server to help with coin switches.

How long do your rigs idle during coin switches? Mine were seeing 5-10% downtime because no work was available during switches on the US server.

It depends on how many switches are happening at once.  I was watching CGminer a second ago and the US Middlecoin server switched to three different coins in the span of about 5 seconds.  That kinda threw CGminer for a loop (said lost connection) but it recovered after about 5 seconds or so.  If the coin switches are slower, then CGminer keeps chugging along with no issues.

I'm not sure why Middlecoin switches coins that quickly though sometimes.  I'm assuming that is part of the problem that H20 is going to correct.  I can't believe there would be a reason to switch from one coin to another in the span of less than a minute to make much of a difference as far as profits are concerned.

Is that true? What ping do you have?

Its very true.  Try it yourself.  Cgminer 3.7.2 happily switches to new coins with no issues with no failover set.

My ping to the US server 100ms.

Instead of all this load sharing and recompiling nonsense.  Why don't you guys just set the U.S. server as the only server in CGminer and don't set a failover?  Cgminer won't give any of these problems if only one server is listed and the --failover-only flag isn't set.

Then when both servers are fixed, you can go back and set the EU as a failover server??

I know this means that if the US server were to go down than your miners would be offline but it appears H20 runs a pretty tight ship around here so the odds of that happening look to be pretty low.

You guys are making this harder than it needs to be. If you are getting frequent disconnects from the US server, swith to the EU server and be done with it until H2O gets the other server straightened out. Connecting to a server that mines the hours most profitable coin matters little if all you are getting are disconnects and rejects.

I'm in the U.S. and having been using the U.S. server for days but get quite a few rejects.  Switched to EU and the rejects are now all under 2.5%.  I'll stick with EU until H20 gets the U.S. server straightened out.  I don't mind mining Doge for a few days until that happens and I'd rather have less rejects.

I'm still using 3.7.2 cgminer by the way.

Crappy payout tonight for me at .08 BTC with 10Mh/s

Of course, I do have .06 unexchanged so it should be higher...

yep beat me to it best program to use with cgminer so powerful and usefull i wont ever go back to using any guiminer program.

Eh, only works for you Winblows users.

I use https://litecointalk.org/index.php/topic,4011.msg28009.html to monitor my Linux farm.  Very lightweight and only requires one actual computer to have PHP5 running.
154  Other / Meta / Re: This forum's software is horrible on: December 23, 2013, 07:59:31 PM

New forum software is being built as we speak which will replace the outdated model.

They've been building new software for a few years now I hear. Spending 6k btc on it too! If they really wanted new software they could just go out and buy vbulletin or xenforum for half a btc.

Buy vBulletin and be done with it.  Why re-invent the wheel by coding a whole new forum from scratch? Vbulletin is $250.  I bet if you asked your membership to take up a collection you would have enough BTC to pay for 1 license 10 times over within the week.
155  Other / Meta / This forum's software is horrible on: December 23, 2013, 03:20:48 AM
This is the most user un-friendly forum software I have ever seen.  I can't believe people actually post here.  If you aren't waiting the allotted time between searches, you certainly can't post because you haven't met the appropriate "waiting time" for a new user.  Then when you finally get posting privileges, type out your message, and then hit "Post", an error comes back saying you have to wait 360 seconds because it says something to the effect of you are posting too much and have to wait...

WTF?!  Is it the general mentality of the admins that they don't want easy use of their forums?  Because if that is the case, mission accomplished!!

Yeah, seems ridiculous to pay.
160  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: boring rules on: May 21, 2013, 02:42:05 PM
I agree the rules should be adjusted.  One of the only forums I have ever been to that restrict "Newbies" to one area for x amount of time and x amount of posts
