142  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: 2 Steam Games: Shogun 2 and Aliens vs Predator on: May 15, 2011, 05:47:12 AM
LOL.  I goofed.  I edited the title now.

I got 3 games with my XFX 5830.  Assasigns creed is on CD.  The other 2 are steam activation keys.

I sold Shogun 2 to a guy on ebay.  I have 3 more copies of Shogun 2 arriving next week with 2x 5850's and 1x 5830.
143  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~700 Gh/s Mining Pool] INSTANT PAYOUT,+1% with LP! +0.8% for no failed blocks! on: May 15, 2011, 05:36:35 AM
I getting this problem also. I tried a few times.
Did you check your SPAM folder?
I have two deepbit accounts. The new security solution worked fine for the first. Not working at all for the second. Tried with firefox and internet explorer, emptied cache, clicked on confirm  link from e-mail client and tried to paste it to the address field in the browser, the adress to which funds are to be sent is still blank. Probably just a minor flaw in the code that Tycho made.
I just added some bugfix, try once more please.

Works for me now.  Thanks so much! Smiley
144  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Sapphire 5850 dummy plugs? on: May 15, 2011, 05:14:06 AM
Anybody here still selling dummy plugs?

I am selling the resistors to build dummy plugs for bitcoins.  Well at least at the current exchange rate... less then .4 btc shipped.

Link doesn't work.

I entered in a new bitcoin address then hit save, and confirmed it via email.
The address box is still blank.  Is this normal???
No. Can you please try again and if it's not working - send me a PM with your login ?

I tried again.  Same problem.  Sent you a PM.

Just logged into my account and saw this message:

"Bitcoin addresses of all users were removed by me in order to implement new system for enhanced security.

I found that someone changed bitcoin addresses of some users. I'm not sure how the attacker got passwords, but now you'll have to use e-mail confirmation for changing your wallet address. I'm very sorry that I haven't implemented this feature earlier, so your stolen bitcoins will be reimbursed if you are the victim. (Please note: I can't garantee that I can do such reimbursment in the future).

Your money is safe. Please, set your bitcoin address again and look for confirmation e-mail from pool."

So does this mean that everyone needs to confirm there bitcoin address and do the email confirmation thing?

Or is the address saved in the system?
148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which countries have the cheapest electricity? on: May 15, 2011, 03:44:32 AM
In Northern California, I pay 11 cents per Kwhr.  California average is 15c i think...  I live a few miles away from a 676Mw Dam (Shasta Dam).
149  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Best bang for the buck? Whole rig on: May 14, 2011, 09:22:53 AM
This will be a mining-only rig.

Would like to be in the 750M - 1 Ghash range

A budget helps Wink

My friend and I put together a 1.2 GHps rig for about $1100.  No case, no hdd/optical.  <$1 per MHash is very doable.

5850s, AMD quad, free RAM, and MSI 890FX board with 1 kW PSU.  Should work well.  Building tonight =)

Lol, I put together a rig for <$500 that will put out almost 800Mhash/s.

Shop around is all I can say. Check lots of forums and websites for good deals.

Specs?  Any used parts in the build?

My 2x 5850 rig will end up costing me:

$260 (Saphire 5850's)
$50 (Antec 900)
$0 (RAM already have)
$70 (750W Thermaltake Tough power 775W)
$45 Foxconn AMD motherboard with Dual PCI-E
$38 Sempron 140
$0 (laptop SATA drive)

So yea, less than $500 for hopefully ~700Mhash overclocked.
150  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 2nd GPU = 14% CPU usage on: May 13, 2011, 10:42:05 AM
Anyone have any ideas?  I hate that it was working with 2 GPU's mining with 14% CPU load now its like 26% Sad
151  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 2nd GPU = 14% CPU usage on: May 12, 2011, 10:41:22 AM
Strange its now using 27%  Huh

I'm 100% sure I had both GPU's running and was only using 14% earlier today.

I did start and stop phoenix several times, but still thats strange.

Any clues?
152  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 2nd GPU = 14% CPU usage on: May 12, 2011, 05:50:09 AM
Can't do linux for my main system, but maybe for future builds.

Also for a dedicated system, I suppose you could disable some cores and underclock it to save on power?  Or do you think this would hurt the GPU performance?
153  Bitcoin / Mining / Crossfire mining? on: May 12, 2011, 03:57:26 AM
I think some people on the forums mine with corssfire set up?

Currently I'm mining with no crossfire bridge.  If I enable crossfire will efficiency decrease?  How does that work?

I would like to be able to use crossfire when I game.

Thanks!

155  Bitcoin / Mining / Multiple GPU mining temperature on: May 11, 2011, 11:22:23 PM
I just added a second 5830 to my rig.

The temp of the 2nd card is in the 75-85 range depending on the fan speed and my overclock.

The 1st card is in the 55-65 range.

---------------------

What temperatures are your hottest cards running?

How long have you run them that way 24/7?

I tend to think that in the 80's is getting too hot, what do you guys think?
156  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 2nd GPU = 14% CPU usage on: May 11, 2011, 11:16:20 PM
What about a 3rd or 4th GPU.  Will it go up another 14% and another 14% again???

How about if I had 3 GPU's on a Singl core Sempron 140, what would my CPU load be like?
157  Bitcoin / Mining / 2nd GPU = 14% CPU usage on: May 11, 2011, 09:34:35 PM
I just started mining last week.

I added a 2nd 5830 to my rig.

Before CPU usage was 1% on my Core i7 930.

With the 2nd GPU, my CPU is @ 14% usage when mining and when the 2nd instance of Phoenix 1.4 is open.

What should I do to get CPU usage down?

I'm on Win7 64bit.

Thanks!
158  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Post your: Measured wattage of your mining rig! on: May 09, 2011, 11:01:10 PM
Wow thanks for posting guys.

@ eleuthria.  Man you sure are a hardcore miner!  Thats a lot of rigs!

Your pumping out about 4.5 G/hash per second!  Amazing!!!

You must have a very high power bill too.  $400 a month?

Higher.  Much, much higher.  I've paid over $400 a month last summer without all these computers running.  California electricity rates are robbery.  I have PG&E coming to my house on Friday to make a determination on switching me to commercial rates which will cut my bill in half.

Wow, keep us updated on how that goes and if they switch you over.  Secondly, I imagine that switching over to all 80 Plus Platinum or Server grade PSU's with near 90% efficiency would save you quite a bit in the long run.
159  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Difficulty? on: May 09, 2011, 10:57:45 PM
