Yeah some exchanges, are terrible for customer service, probably due to lack of staff

How much is each coin on an exchange? I'm looking at purchasing some but I'm on a low budget.

Yeah i have sent ONIONs to friends on more than 4 separate occasions and they arrive straight away, it seems reliable enough to continue using it, plus they always update the wallet, there might be other better alts out there but so far i'm sticking with onion.

yeah i'm also glad the votecentral bug is fixed, only thing is i heard these bitcoin talk accounts are also getting demoted for what ever reason, i feel as though we can't rely on bitcoin talk anymore either

Honestly, while monero is a proven Privacy coin, the one thing is it has a limitless supply, which i believe will go against it, plus it's only POW, the future of Privacy is a hybrid POW/POS coin which makes it more resistant to these increasing 51% attacks on POW only coins, from what i understand Verge has been pillaged by these attacks and nothing has been done about it, where is the trust in that, the only currency i feel is a lot more resistant to these attacks is Deeponion.

Deeponion also has a limited supply of 25 million coins, in the long run there will be a supply issue with these coins and the POS rate will reduce from 5% to 1% a year from now, Monero will just keep belting the coins out as long as people are mining it with GPUs. etc.

Deeponion has a democratic voting system (votecentral) in which the holders of the coin can vote on which will happen next to the coin, making it a coin for the people, shaped by them as well.

Deeponion has been listed on various exchanges with different pairings, all within a year, when heaps of other coins struggle to get listed on one.

Deeponion also has an awesome innovation called deepvault, which lets you store hashes of your files inside the blockchain to secure it, giving it a form of continuation of evidence which will recently be able to use in the Chinese courts as non-tampered with evidence, thus making it admissible, don't get me started on all the other possible professional real world applications, like patient confidential files for doctors and lawyers, or even valuable intellectual property for the scientists and corporate entities spread through out the entire world.

It mainly depends on what you want to buy, based on the title of the thread, there are a lot of exchanges out there.

(1) Decide what you want to buy and why. example, Deeponion since it is a privacy hybrid PoW and PoS coin.

(2) Find out where you can get your wanted crypto-currency example using coinmarketcap.com

(3) Pick which exchange and why. example (a) Kucoin for higher volume or liquidity
                                                               (b) Crypotia for looking at trading charts for your Technical analysis
                                                               (c) BISQ for a decentralized exchange, without the mandatory need for KYC (know your customer) great for keeping your privacy intact.
(4) buy and withdraw your favourite crypto-currency to your wanted address.

Honestly a lot of pure PoW coins are getting attacked by these 51% attacks (one entity controlling 51% and over the hashing power and being able to double spend the currency)
I am starting to look at hybrid coins having both PoW and PoS processes so that those mining the coin, attempting to control 51% of the hashing power also has to complete with people staking.

So far I have only come across one coin that has this and it's also a privacy coin running on TOR, Deeponion, it's also trading on some relatively reputable exchanges like kucoin and soon going to be listed on some Tier 1 exchanges too.
Please let me know if there are any other hybrid POW/POS coins out there as they will maintain trust with it's users.

2018 might not be the year for altcoins too, it might be the start of the next bull run but it won't finish in 2018, I feel it will take some time to gather some momentum.

Kucoin is probably one of the more reliable exchanges, I use it all the time to buy and hold my favourite hybrid PoW/PoS crypto-currency, Deeponion.
I used to use cryptopia, but kucoin has a lot more volume, making a more liquid market.
From what I understand, the likes of Deeponion are applying for larger and more trusted exchanges too.

I'm loving the new wallet, Deeper and co. did a great job. I wonder what else they have up their sleaves.

It blows my mind how many features and ideas the Development team have in store for deeponion, with whats been achieved in barely a year, not even, most coins haven't even achieved in 3, 4 or 5 years
