I've just uploaded a little project that can parse the blockchain (the raw blk??.dat files) and returns the block's data (block, transactions, inputs and outputs) while it walks the blockchain. It is a very very simple piece of code and works pretty well.

As an example, in the same github repo there is a tool that reads the blockchain and save its blocks data in a ms sql database. I called it BlockchainToSql. I know there is a similar tool available for MySql but we, the .NET devs, are as we are.

Which is the technology stack you have in mind?

why is what? Why there is few .net devs in bitcoins? OSS community. That´s the reason why .net went several years behind java in almost all, just to mention: unit testing, continuos integration, dependency injection containers, ORMs, static code analysis and so on.

.Net doesn´t have a big enough OSS community. Ofcourse this is just an opinion.

As you can see, there are no many people doing things with .Net and bitcoinsharp is a port from bitcoinj 0.2 (a little old). Try to use bitcoinj with ikvm, i didn´t tried it but it could work.

Thank you all! I decided to continue using bitcoin-qt after this thread discussion, really useful.

IMO the problem is defation/inflation. In my country we have around 25% inflation and that makes us take an easy decision:

- Buy goods in twelve payments without interest using credit cards or,
- buy goods in one payment using bitcoins

Fiat currencies will be most of the time the chosen ones.
