141  Economy / Speculation / Re: So what happened on: February 02, 2018, 03:02:37 PM
Maybe because a FUD has been cleared up.

Maybe a factor, would expecct reduced fud leading to a gradual turn around in the market days.  What seen in the trading is similar to when a government or similar central authority releases unexpected positive news, and the market just presses Buy on everything.

Its as if a million bots cried out in joy.  Grin
142  Economy / Speculation / Re: BReakout to 9K coming!--> Breaking news MTN telegram NETWORK!!! on: February 02, 2018, 01:55:26 PM

Where? when? why?  Cheesy
143  Economy / Speculation / So what happened on: February 02, 2018, 01:50:56 PM
I dont normally pay attention to intra-day trading details however today i happen to be watching the fall and looking like 8000 was going to collapse (Gdax went all the way down to ~7500).  But then...

Around 12:45-12:50 GMT the markets reverse.  And i dont just mean Bitcoin, everything reversed for 15-30min, with double-quadruple the volume of the previous 15m period.  It was like a switch was turned on and everything just went from sell or sideways to buy, buy, buy.  That isnt very normal, not without an event and even then you expect a ripple through the different markets as one rises and sentiment cascades across.  Or is the market that irrational, was there some news I have seen, i'm open to conspiracy theory too.

Anyone know?
144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC UPDATE on: February 02, 2018, 01:11:35 PM
Well it just hit 7800 on bitstamp and I can't see any bouncing.

I see a 200 btc wall being eaten very quickly

Lol, my first thought to the post was "which chart are we looking at".

I've been watching the market this morning, and on Binance it was hovering above 8000 while on Gdax well below, ~7500... then boom a massive shift north at 12:50 put Binance up 500 in about 3 minutes, Gdax catching up now.

Charts count for crap when two exchanges are over 10% apart.  Sailing up to 8800, morning resistance and downward trend very broken.  Is that the support or just another dead cat bounce?
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $2000 in just two days! on: February 01, 2018, 09:56:42 PM
I started trading crypto last year on October 25, and for almost 4 months in trading, this is my biggest profit I Made $2000 in BitcoinWhite(BTW) for just using the buy low and sell high method, I bought some on bitflip at $0.15 did not expect that this coin will reach $0.93 for just 24hrs and sold it at $0.90 I made a big profit on this coin and until now I'm doing the same method, and today earned another $500 Grin BTW current price is at $0.5 at the moment.

Great result, congratulations. What is your trading strategy? Do you trade intraday? Thank you for your opinion.

Sounds like the "got lucky after months of trying" strategy.

Final nail in the coffin, this absurd Know-Your-Customer questionnaire where they need to know how, where and when you obtained your bitcoin details of all the places you have lived and a blood & stool sample, well they might as well have asked for one.
They don't need to do this, I think it's just because they are scared some government body might threaten to close them down even though there is no cause to do so.
I'll just see how the coin does on the open market and not bother with this ICO.

Yeah the KYC was unusual information and when I left it incomplete, came back and it was withdrawn! Bit odd.  But they have other money so they aren't worried about one persons problems.  I could have started again with another email, I err'd against it.  Reckon a lot of people think they've signed up to the next Binance, my view is the constraints they've put on their trading makes it a less appealing platform.  Hey, they'll make money either way, and the coin will give some return, so im sure it'll be OK for buyers.
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TRON (TRX) is going crazy. on: February 01, 2018, 08:35:03 PM

You should look at LBRY, TAAS and ECC
149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gone under 10000 on: February 01, 2018, 04:31:14 PM
Aaarrgghh we're doomed.

I've concluded its the collective inward looking, self generated fud from with cryptosphere.  People are becoming obsessed that the world wants crypto to fail, therefore any "news" that isnt overwhelmingly positive is treated as a negative.  In fact even positive news, say McAfee promoting a coin, is given a negative spin.   People are expecting failure so react to news with selling and fear, creating negative sentiment.  Maybe because too many don't dont really know whats going on, and in the vacuum of knowledge uncertainty rules.  Bitcoin will ultimately fail under the weight of its own expectation.

150  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we all please accept.. on: February 01, 2018, 03:03:00 PM
The governments of the world will never adopt or like the Bitcoin, they are all go up against that currency due to one eminent reason: Bitcoin has no tax and they will not get any benefits from this currency in terms of financial state revenues.

You dont understand how taxes are collected, do you?
151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we all please accept.. on: February 01, 2018, 02:46:11 PM
No government will like to see it economy crumble. Cryptocurrency in general is a treat to Government and Banks. Whatever they choose to do with country you can't  stop them.

No it isn't. Will cryptocurrency provide law and order, defense, education, roads, healthcare, social security, etc?  No, so there is no threat to government. The banks are more concerned with providing credit, they'll not like to lose a small revenue from money transfers, but it is only small, so crypto is not much threat there either.
152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we all please accept.. on: February 01, 2018, 02:08:25 PM
Accept the fact that most of governments will oppose crypto currency.

I do not accept this as it is not a fact.  *Most* governments have so far done little against bitcoin and only action is to declare how it should be treated within existing frameworks, i.e. current tax law.  The cryptosphere appear determined to create an atmosphere of us and them, because some people within this group see it as a political anti-government cause.  So far governments have, aside from a few regulations well short of prohibition, let it be.
153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CREDIT card companies will Charge extra fees for BITCOIN purchase. on: February 01, 2018, 11:54:37 AM
When you use Credit Card for cash, at a ATM for example, they charge cash advance fee.  When you buy bitcoin you are buying money.  The credit card companies just agreed with you, they see this as a cash advance.  Embrace the acceptance.
154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why/how is there so much FUD articles everyday? on: February 01, 2018, 11:50:06 AM
Because bad news sells.  Claims its FUD for market manipulation is FUD.  Its far easier and more profitable to spread rumors to rise a price than to lower it, so dont believe the conspiracies.
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will ripple recover? on: February 01, 2018, 10:33:37 AM
Recover from being over-hyped and overbrought?  I think it is, I'm afraid that means the price is going to go down.  It has gone beyond expectation the future benefits are some way of if even delivered.  Like so many coins recently the hype had nothing behind it, just rumors and dreams.
156  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It seems like Mark Zuckerberg doesn't believe in Blockchain technology on: February 01, 2018, 10:11:59 AM
Very poor conclusion, I dont see there is a direct link between his statement to look into blockchain and the decision to ban ICO adverts.  One is a R&D subject, the other a commercial decision, with possible legal input.

I dont think people realise just how close to the wind most ICO are sailing for US regulators  Normally IPO stock raising has to jump through many hoops and their prospectus are dominated by a list of risks and threats to the business.  Contrast to ICO where i dont think i've ever seen a risk highlighted, they are sales brochures and if lucky a competently compiled technical description of the system. They are most certainly illegal in the US, hence all the "you cant participate if a US citizen" and Facebook have taken the view its not worth the risk the SEC come after them for advertising.

Meanwhile the Zuckerberg wants to look at how to utilise the technology.
157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MSN article on BTC and taxes. on: February 01, 2018, 12:10:31 AM
This is straight forward, there is nothing against bitcoin and crypto here, they are applying the same rules that already exist for other trading.  What, you thought you could trade with non-cash goods and that wouldnt have been exploited for decades?  Have shares and trade for gold, or vice versa, no taxes to pay?   Cheesy  Of course not.  Your country wants you to declare your earnings, income, profits, and pay tax on them regardless how you made them.
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether - 2.3 billion in reserve on: January 31, 2018, 11:41:52 PM
Another worrying news for the crypto industry are revealed :

U.S. Regulators Subpoena Crypto Exchange Bitfinex, Tether!
Tether has yet to verify that it holds $2.3 billion in reserve!

My question is - What if it turns out they do not have 2.3 billion, but maybe a lower amount of e.g. 1.6 billion?

Means they have $1.6billion more than any other coin.

159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The trillion dollar question: What w'd be the impact of Facebook ban on ICO Ads? on: January 31, 2018, 11:38:15 PM
If people really think losing some advertising on Facebook has a massive impact to crypto, then its not in a very good state.  ICO should not be a consumer product to be sold to alongside holidays, deodorant and betting.  It will raise the game of ICO that will need to focus on attracting those that understand the technology and hopefully reduce the outright scams.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Legolas Exchange, fair, secure and realistic exchange on: January 31, 2018, 10:08:07 PM

I was interested in this project but that "usability" piece has put me right off.  Exchange users have to use the token?  Other exchange make an incentive for the use of their token, if i don't have any i can continue to use the markets.  By making it a requirement it limits the trade.  Disappointed.
