I’ll guess at a top of approx $150,000 then a horrible, multi year bear market again, possibly going as low as $30,000.
Just going from memory, can't be fucked looking it up, but usually the low is around 3x the previous ATH?

*Quietly waiting for multi-thousand-per-day rises*
Hopefully this will happen but we have to wait quietly.

Couldn't agree more. If there is something BTC does well, it is momentum. LFC point about still soaking up the supply is probably spot on, but once that is done she'll wake.
My guess - - Slow grind to a new ATH in early 2021
- $50,000 per coin by end of Q3 2021
- It’ll go from $50,000 to $100,000 quickly, all the noobs will flow in
OK, it seems we're all agreed.....now lets all predict the bottom after the crash. I'm guessing up to ~200-250k, then back down to ~60-75k. 4 year wait for new ATH, although not so sure about the last part. BTC will be well and truly part of the global financial system by then, so maybe it recovers a lot faster. JP Morgan will be publishing articles about how they knew bitcoin was the real deal the whole time, and Krugman will be smashing windows with Casascius coins.

If we hit ATH this year, I'm 80% sure we will hit 100k by end of 2021. Only 30% sure we'll hit a ATH this year though.
Once she gets started, there is no stopping her. Sometimes the bitch just doesn't want to get out of bed though.
As always, patience is key, especially with bitcoin.
Buy, hold, chill the fuck out.
Strange to say only 30% with almost 6 full moths to go..... just thinking about the last halving and bullruns I have been through. The last 50% to recover to ATH can take a long fucking time. 12k to 20k could easily take 6-12 months, then a while hanging around just below for a while. I expect us to start going up soon, but I think it will be the long slow grind up for quite a while, finally pass ATH, and the grind up slowly gets faster and faster, until we frequently have days of 1, 2, 5k rises. When the daily rises are greater than the previous ATH, time to think about taking some profit.

All users must always check the copied BTC address before sending it. A habit that is a must even without this phishing attempt.
It's more tricky than that. In this version, you see the correct bitcoin address in your browser before you send it, and if you open the link in a browser with the same IP address, it will still show the correct address, but anyone who opens the link with a different IP address to the creator, sees the incorrect BTC address, so there would be no actual way of checking yourself

Don't apologise, happy to help! It's actually the first time I have seen a collision between first bits, which makes it interesting in itself, and I was not aware that walletexplorer.com was matching against non capitalized characters, which is also good to know! Helpful post for me! Thanks

So far, I didn't see someone using privnote to send btc address here just shipping address, but idk if there is. Search for the wrong thing and privnotes.com will be the first result you see in google search!
Searching privnote or privenotes the real privnote appears first, but still the fake one appeared on second so becareful, bookmarking the site is good thing to do. A thread related to this posted here btw https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5255539.0 thanks. Not sure on proper etiquette, if I should post things like this here. Lots of trading done here, and not sure how many people check the scam section, but will delete if people think things like this should only go in scam section.

They are pointing at different addresses: 185FFDTX4FHMJ4uKKCdK9ciUqcrRoKUuLP 0.0085 185fFdTXvmcNQAqcmcQXWxrcUttD33uPGE 0.1 first bits are the same, except for capitalization, which matters in old addresses, but not the new bech32 ones Ninja'd...Hi Ramelius, hope you're doing well

https://krebsonsecurity.com/2020/06/privnotes-com-is-phishing-bitcoin-from-users-of-private-messaging-service-privnote-com/privnotes.com is a scam site that tricks people into thinking they are going to privnote.com ( a legit site, trusted site) Any bitcoin addresses posted in privnotes.com will be changed to a different address. Search for the wrong thing and privnotes.com will be the first result you see in google search! Be careful out there, it's similar to the online QR code generators, which do the exact same thing! In general never send to any address received in a private message anywhere, unless 100% certain you are talking to who you thought you were. Always worth checking the PGP signature as well, its a good habit, and it's not out of the realm of possibility a similar MITM attack could happen anywhere.

another thing I thought of was giving users the ability to take a pic of the coin and upload it, add their PGP key, or forum name etc. Lot of privacy issues etc, could very well be a horrible terrible no-good idea, but thought I would throw it out there

Well this is awesome! I actually started a thread a month or two back: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5249112.msg54448236#msg54448236about setting up a provenance database of all physical coins that have been sold. Love, love, love what you are doing! Not sure if you would have the time or bandwidth to add a provenance section, it would involve a lot of website searching and scraping, but it would be awesome if you could. Plus if you haven't learnt it already, website scraping is a cool and surprisingly helpful tool to have in your skill set. I did not have time to fully flesh anything out, so it may not be super feasible, but figured there were a few ways to go about the physical side of things. Get the public lists of public keys that exist for most of the physicals, and search the internet, but this forum specifically, for mentions of them, look for the [WTS] or [AUCTION] tag in the heading, and then get a timestamp and seller, or it might be easier to do it the other way round, search for the above tags, and scrap any addresses you find the posts under that header. You may have thought of a much better way than that though! Will only get a percentage of coins sold obviously, but it would also raise the collectible section of bitcointalk's profile, and hopefully help it become the only place people want to sell! I would love to be able to look up the provenance of coins, not only would knowing the history be super fucking cool, but it would help with fake coins, and raise the value of coins with good history. I'm pretty flat out at the moment, but if you need any advice on setting up huge EC2 instances as cheaply as possible to do any number crunching etc, PM me, I'd be happy to help, it's half my day job. Super happy to hear this, you'll learn a lot I'm sure, sounds like you landed yourself a cool internship, thanks also to Yogg for doing this, love to see people helping the next generation start their careers! And their bitcoin addiction

Bad timing to sell 0.5's, been quite a few lately! Now if someone could just dump a dozen gilts on the market.....

Can these collectibles stand for years and the privkey will be there?
There's stuff I've printed out 30 years ago on the nastiest paper with the crappiest printer that's still absolutely fine. I can only think of faxes that have faded away. Something weird would have to happen for anything printed normally not to last for a very lengthy time. All the same I'm sure he wasn't expecting these things to be cherished for thousands of years. yeah, as far I understand from the research I have done, most ink/paper combinations should last 50 years, but very few combinations will last 100 years. Some will last 1000's of years, and some will be lucky to last 10. So probably not a huge issue right now, but it could become something people start to worry about in another 10 years, and I am planning to keep mine forever, which is why I started thinking about it.
