What happen to the original dev for Mintcoin? I know there is the Mintcoin Team on facebook and twitter, is the owner of this coin still around?
I've never seen/heard any evidence to suggest the original developer is still not behind the coin. What has lead you to believe otherwise? I wasn't sure if he/she was or not. I'd hoped so but I don't remember seeing many post lately?

Just did my regular visit to mintpal and to my horror I saw mintcoin in the single digits, it was awful.. Yeah, I wonder why it went down so much. At least this is a good time to invest in more, :p. It's still at 10 sats on poloniex. Maybe someone dumped a massive amount on mintpal and artificially lowered the price. It's down to 8 on Cryptsy too though (people are dumping into that). still waiting for 3 sats here That is not gonna happen. There is too much intrinsic value with Mintcoin that it won't reach such levels anymore, maybe at the beginning. At this stage, we have reached the bottom and even dipped below it. It is heavily manipulated and will rise from here on out. There is a lot of development with the Android wallet and activities with the Fund. Still drinking that koolaid? I said 5 sats and you said 1000 lol Looks like I win again. Next up 3 sats.. remember the size of the premine :p I'm picking up all the coins I can at these cheap prices. I feel there is a lot going for this coin and it's a good long term investment. If I lose on it, I lose, it's not money I have to have for something.. but if I win, it'll be a nice sum of cash in a year.

Most will only do in small batches since the swap is not instant and don't want to risk their coins.
Others wont even swap the coins, it's a bit of a process and may be to much trouble for what it's worth.

Hey David,
If you need a hand, I know wordpress like the back of my hand. I'd be happy to help out with any website issues on wp or other PHP frameworks. Shoot me a message when you see this and we can chat on Skype or IRC if you like. Hi, Yes, I would definitely need help. I live in Europe I hope we'll find a way to be in touch. Contact me on #mintcoin-dev (freenode). Sounds good, sent ya a message as ^BS^ and I'll hang out in that IRC room.

I removed the existing ones. Anyone who continues posting them will be banned.
If it's like other apps I've used to post on forums then it's part of the app, like a signature in an email sent from the phone. Maybe contact the creator and let him know?

I'll add an additional 500'000 MINT to the bounty If The Android wallet with working staking gets released within the month of May.
thanks Though it's temptating, it's hard to do. I've been very busy with non-crypto life lately, my errands won't be over till the end of this month. For the wallet, getting it working on android devices (without staking) is just a weekend's job if I could spare the time. But I want to include some additional functionality with the initial release, that's why I'm not trying to squeeze it in with my other tasks. (I'll have a break this weekend, maybe I use it to advance wallet's status) Generating stakes is not implemented in the library yet, though all the infrastructure is there and working (they were required for security aspects). Probably just 100-200 lines of additional code will be needed for staking (for crafting stake block itself and broadcasting it). Even though android wallet may be released until end of May, it won't have staking in its initial release. And I want people to use and test it first with low amounts on how smooth it goes (and get some feedback), before releasing a feature which will influence people to trust high amounts with it which are meaningful for staking. Thanks for the update on the android wallet. I'd be happy to test it when you're ready.

I tried for this but I barely make 50 post a month and to say I'd make 50 "quality" post every month isn't something I'm going to bet one. This can be good for some people, but I'm not going to spam these forums just so I can make a few btc. If the min was lowered, I'd be all in.
I wish it was lower too KSG, but stunna's coins his rules. However, I do think he allows you to roll over your posts for multiple months if you don't make the minimum. It would certainly be worth a PM to him to find out. Most of the mega poster spam is in the off topic section. Good Luck! Ah I didn't know that, I'll have to look over the rules again. I had the primedice image in my sig for a few weeks and had remembered something happen on the 17th.. So I went to check and count my post, and it wasn't anywhere close to 50..lol I'll check it out again sometime.

Hopefully this comes off a good surprise : BC/MINT rivalry aside (if there still is one - I don't believe there is) I will be adding MintCoin support to my pool. I will having the beta test this weekend. You guys get to be the lucky guinea pigs if you decide to participate. A quick explanation as to what is going on : you will either be able to mine BC only, MINT only, or even go "hybrid" and configure your miners to be paid out 50/50 in BC/MINT. Here is a preview. Very nice looking pool, can't wait for it to be live!

Android wallet update 6: Good news!
The following is the first transaction ever received and forwarded by mintcoinj http://mint.blockx.info/get/tx/68fec0ad06a76d1d37de929e14b6ad6d17352b715de4f5bcce648333e9bc4a9cWhat's included & currently working in mintcoinj: - The first POW+POS java bitcoin library
- A TxTracking blockchain & blockstore implementation: a compromise between Full Pruned Block Chain and SPV Block Chain
- Like a Full Pruned Block Chain, it keeps track of ALL unspent transaction outputs since genesis block. Removes unnecessary old data.
- It only verifies scripts of coinstake transactions (1 coinstake per POS block), so CPU-wise it is light-weight like a SPV Block Chain
- Unfortunately, it is not as lightweight as a Simple Payment Verification system, but technically there is no way to make bitcoin-SPV style for a POS coin security-wise.
- Processed data holds around 67 mb on disk (as of block 343262).
- Proof of Stake Protocol (PPCoin v0.3) :
- Blockchain calculates stake modifiers correctly
- Blockchain calculates and verifies stake hashes correctly (Modifiers mentioned above are required for verification). This guarantees the core security of a POS coin.
- Block signatures are supported and verified (PPCoin protocol requires each block has to be signed by owner of coinstake to prevent replaying attacks)
- Various security aspects handled due to being POS coin:
- Attacks caused by flooding side chains with invalid POS blocks (blocks that have correct header difficulty, but don't match coinstake protocol) are rejected on receipt, so the low block header difficulty won't cause attacks (Normal bitcoinj trusts only header difficulty, as expected for a POW only coin. This is not the case for POW+POS coins)
- Similarly, flooding side chains with unverifiable POS blocks (blocks that have correct header diff, but unable to verify/reject coinstake due to the output being spent&removed on main chain) are prevented due to ignorance of their difficulty. A side chain can overcome the main chain only if its *verifiable* blocks constitute a greater amount of work. Unverifiable blocks count as zero work (Until side chain becomes the main chain, where every block will be verified one by one on reorganization)
Love it!

One easy way to increase the buy pressure is to use the multipool @ hashco.ws All miners who want to support mint should use it! it is very profitable at this low price and at the same time you help push the price up
I think the problem is the reward there isn't too high. I tried it for a few days and I was not getting a hell of a lot of mint for my efforts. Well, the profitability varies from day to day but very often it is the most profitable on avarage in this list: http://poolpicker.eu/In fact, I don't want to mine any PoW coin. Open the mintcoin wallet and then do nothing. I'd like to get to that point someday as well. I'm sure I'll always have a miner around though, I enjoy the "hunt" of it all.
