SHA256 merged mining isn't working in Mazacoin is it?

I have been merged mining it alongside all the other SHA256 merged coins using p2pool for some time now and still not finding any blocks, its difficulty is lower than GRouPcoin so I should be finding blocks of Mazacoin at least as often as I find blocks of GRouPcoin shouldn't I?

I don't think it is ready for merged mining. I have just pointed one 10ghs card and some usb u1's to a separate bfgminer that I use for experimentation and point that to the rocketpool. I get shares, but It constantly causes bfgminer to freeze. I even tried rotating it between a btc pool and the maza pool and it seems I have to watch dog it. Using kill to shut it down then restart.

I probaly had it mining 20ghs for several hours and all I earned was 43mzc.

Just wanted to put in some feedback in-so-far as my experience has been good and I figured I'd share it.

Ordered a cube on February 1st, pretty late at night.  Received an email the next morning letting me know my cube had been shipped.

Cube arrived Monday (today), as it was intended to.  Opened her up, had to reattach a heatsink to one blade and re-align all the blades into their slots.  Not too complicated and actually kind of fun Smiley

Rigged my PSU to work without a mobo - easy to find guides online.  Plugged in cube and read through a couple setup guides, followed the steps, and now I'm hashing away at just under 30ghz non-overclocked.

Thank you for the product, zero-X's as promised.  And thank you again for the prompt delivery.  First experience with a group buy and it was damn near perfect.  If only Amazon and NewEgg could be this spot on  Grin

Thread Lock - that should be done at the factory. You may want to try one just to see if it makes a difference.

..so what happens next?

There has only been 3 bitcoin blocks in the last 2 hours, so transactions are piling up. Unfortunately ghash.io got two of those three blocks, and they are still creating small blocks, not including a lot of transactions.

Should clear up soon. Would certainly help if ghash.io would create larger blocks.


If you wouldn't mind. How are they creating small blocks? Something they are doing or just how the block tumbles?

So I am back for good. I am pointing 122 gh. here  all in sticks..  ANTminer sticks are absolutely amazing.  Right now the doctor has not done the software for them and you need to do the custom cgminer build from antminer on github…

What are you using for the driver? I built a parallels virtual with windows 7 and pulled the custom cgminer but it whines about needing a driver.

okay  you need to change the silabs to winusb  use zadig

  you want use  zadig from the above 3.9 download  to change the drivers  and


 see if your custom cgminer download has a zlibdll (sp) file  about 83kb if it does not pull the one from the 3.9 stock cgminer

New mavericks virtual with just command-line tools install, then home-brew, then your tap, then bfgminer without --HEAD

maybe something is broke in current release ? I don't recall putting on newer release, but head been foggy with holiday's and getting over bronchitis.

went back to other mac, uninstalled bfgminer, ripped out source in cache, reinstalled without --HEAD and now its working.

don't know how I missed goofing it up or not reinstalling without the --HEAD

tomorrow after some shuteye ill fix it on the main mac (where the virtual is running now).

Have you had any problems with your cube?

I have have the same experience. I really had hoped it would all just "solve its self" the next day. I started with USB BE using the bitminter client, added a single blade pointed directly to bitminter. Sold off most BE at the right time that bought more blades. Didn't like the slow hash rates on the blades so got a stratum proxy running thanks to your articles and had it chugging away for about 30 days. even set it up on another computer just in case. Everything was all fine till yesterday  Sad

My first thought was the sites were getting hammered as Doc had predicted that it occurs more often around the holidays.

Ill post back after the virtual is done and tested probably on the morrow

Thanks for any assistance i this hair pulling session.

If everything worked fine and now your Blade shows as SICK running in bfgminer on two different machines, odds are your Blade is the problem. Are you sure it's still functional? Have yo tried using other proxies like slush's or connecting directly to a GetWork pool?

I have pointed the blade to mint.bitminter.com and it hash's, not at full speed but it does hash.

There are 5 blades and 1 cube. All are having the issue. Blades have their own power seperate from the cube.

I also tried running the mining-proxy.py and they will not hash through it either.

I wanted to make sure that the error reported in the brew install and bfgminer were not it.

I have just changed a blade (.48) to point to mint.bitminter.com and in about 2 mins it is mining at 4.2ghs

It has to be a local problem. I wasnt sure at first as the days leading up both bitminter and btcguild were suffering ddos attacks

I had used your brew tap formula before and had everything running with homebrew.

something has broke and I can't figure out what.

mining with mixture of blades and usb BE has been fine for 30+ days.

24+ hours ago blade mining broke with bfgminer. the PXY all show as SICK. I have tried on two different mac's with same result.

The mac's, blades, router are all in the same switch. I can ping the blades and configure them from the either mac.
I have powered everything off and back on.

I ripped out brew and reinstalled.

I noticed in the brew install of bfgminer

then noticed this in a debug log of bfgminer

although with bfgminer running, I can open a web page to the ip of the mac localhost:8332 and get a login request then a work to solve

and if I leave out the --http-port 8332 I get no response to localhost:8332 so even though there are those error messages, it must be taking requests at 8332 ?

I even fired up a parallels windows 7 / installed win32 bfgminer and get the same results. i.e SICK for the blade now pointed to the parallels virtual running bfgminer (interface in bridge and firewall rule in windows to allow 8332)

Pulled down the latest cgminer (3.9.0) on OSX using home-brew and it see's the miner and uses it but at varying clocks between 300mhz to 900mhz.

brew install cgminer --HEAD

probably just need to find the timing tweak. At least it mines.

On bfgminer, you MUST have unique user names for each blade/cube which is different then using slush's. If you don't, you will see a drop of 10 to 20%.

Again I apologize if this is old hat, but I was searching the bfgminer section for "blade" to see what I missed that they were not running at top speed and found this:

End result is on bfgminer you end up with a PXY for each blade/cube if you don't have a "PXY" for each cube/blade then you have duplicate id.s.

hit "d" for device manager and use the arrows to see what each "logged" user name is.

my blades for example are assigned .40 up so with bfgminer, the user:pass field if just use "bladexx:123" where xx is the ip of the blade to keep them unique and simple.

Was the USB board that could hold rows and rows of USB BEs called a cube?

The V3 Cube photo (http://s1279.photobucket.com/user/dogiee/media/2013-11-29164606_zps79c06f50.jpg.html) seems to show six Blades which one would think could produce 63GH/s.  Are those half size Blades of a new design?  If the V3 Cube holds 6 V2 blades, how can it sell for .85btc when a single Blade sells for .38btc?  Or does the V3 Cube come unpopulated?

the 49 port board was just a hub.

They are essentially six half blades with a main board providing power and communications. So unlike standard blades, only 1 ethernet connection is needed for the six half blades. In fact another name for this thing might be "Half Baked" or "Lemon Cube" since one reseller has had to gut parts from his stock to fix customers and another has had to assemble a team of "fixers" to pull every cube he receives apart and fix them and a good portion of the ones that have been corrected in the field won't run high clock.

Speaking about the cubes. I would not want to be a reseller for them. Your going to loose your shirt on the warranty issues.
This is not really a product for noobs with its current issue's so should not be on ebay or amazon.

They are arriving with loose screws, bowed boards and enough not running that is appears to be a significant DOA or Partial DOA issue.

I myself just got one, While there were no loose screws, I took it apart and every heat sink had screws that were so loose to be almost dropping out. The boards were out of their slots and the main board bowed.

After tightening the screws, reseating boards and realigning them in their slots (peeling off the fan sticker that everyone says flys off in the first few mins). I powered up. Can only get "lo". Switching to "high" actually drops the hashing rate and boards begin to get "x"s on them until every chip is an "x" and the system becomes very sluggish. Only solution is power off, wait a few mins, then back on. Power is not issue as running new 12v rail only CX500 with 2 PCI-E cables for 1 cube.

Running at "Lo' for over 12 hours now and hash stays around 30mhs using bfgminer. (tried stratum mining.py and it was slower on two different OS X machines).

I think I would rather have three or four blades than 1 cube. More reliable and if something goes wrong, only 1 blade goes out.



ASICMINER - thread lock on the heat sink screws would keep them tight and a rubber bumper under the middle of the main board would keep them in their slots.

Hopefully there is a gen2 or gen3 chip about to roll out for them.

Your best bet is ebay. Put em up for $35 each plus shipping charge and they will be gone in less than a day.

When I click on high clock, the cube slows down and then it's all xxxx. I then have to wait like 10 mins and restart a few times. Thn randomly after a few restarts it works. Just throwing this again if someone else is seeing the same and there's a solution.

Do you have only one cube on a single power supply? I had 3 cubes on one 850w power supply and they would have the same symptoms.
1 cube on 1 PSU.

I am seeing same issue. 1 cube 1 CX500 PS. click high, cube slows and chips begin x'ing till all x'ed. have to turn off, wait a few mins, then turn on to bring back to low speed.

Are there still issues? I am trying to connect a stratum pool. It will work for about 10 mins then workers shows 0 and full size stats shows a missing box even though the mining_proxy.py shows activity. Later on it might start working again then it repeats with zero activity.
