141  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [Beta] MyBitMine.co | New Type Of Faucet | Get Bitcoin From Playing on: March 27, 2015, 12:39:08 PM
Any chance of reducing the gold cost for upgrade? Later on the upgrade cost increased too high and too fast...
142  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have USD 2000 to invest. Should I buy Bitcoins or gold? on: March 26, 2015, 06:24:01 AM
If bitcoin at 100-250$ range then buy bitcoin, if it is above 250$ already then buy gold. So its time to buy Bitcoin now...
143  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - sell & buy hash rate cloud mining service / multipool on: March 20, 2015, 01:43:04 PM
when scrypt went thru the roof not long ago
i decided to rent a bunch of A2's to join the party.
all of em were west-US, so i pointed to westhash.com,
workers were reconnecting every 10-15min which drastically cut the profits.
then i switched to nicehash.com, reconnects were every 40-60min, acceptable.
i don't know what that means, just reporting...

Can anybody confirm that pointing your rig to nicehash instead of westhash solve the problem? Thanks
144  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - sell & buy hash rate cloud mining service / multipool on: March 19, 2015, 06:45:15 AM
Is there anything wrong with westhash or its my problem? I have a average speed of 850Mh/s but all of sudden my speed was reduced to 650 Mh/s with plenty of reject.

https://www.westhash.com/?p=miners&a=3&addr=12Luqz8jqCFCsCEDmUPhuwYrZfubwxoLhd

Thanks..

146  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Should setting up a mining rig at home always be profitable on: March 15, 2015, 01:12:50 PM
Just a question, I spend my time and money on various things, most of them have no real return value and money, if you look at it from a capitalist way is wasted, though some merchant might have the profits, I did not, just the sheer joy of the things I bought or the time I spent boggling my mind to do something. Like my webhost, I pay each year, but the site does nothing but host mostly my personal blog and some info, I do enjoy having my own domain and do not mind paying the money.

Could this work for mining? What if I set up a mining rig at home, just to be part of the chain? Just because I think bitcoin has a future and setting up a small non profitable rig does contribute to that future and has more of a hobby value to maintain the rig. Is that a bad thing?

If you are mining at a loss, consider using the electricity to buy Bitcoin directly, this way you can support Bitcoin. If you are mining bitcoin at a loss you are actually supporting your electric company.
147  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is it illegal for me to sell my Bitcoins? on: March 12, 2015, 07:17:24 AM
I heard that some people have been arrested and charged with "transmitting money without a license" for selling Bitcoins.

Does this mean it is illegal for me to sell my Bitcoins?

To be safe, just sell those bitcoin to exchange site. Dont sell directly to people although the price might be a little higher but its not worth it.
148  Economy / Speculation / Re: It is always too late on: March 12, 2015, 06:25:30 AM
The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best is now

damn I like this quote

If the best day to plant a tree is 20 years ago, the second best day would be 7303 days ago.

If the best day to plant a tree is 20 years ago, the second best day would be 7303 days ago and the third best would be tomorrow.

Thanks nicehash for implementing the sorting function on workers, no body seems to notice it?
150  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people keep saying BTC is dead?! on: March 10, 2015, 03:28:45 PM
If Bitcoin goes up 10%, people are full of joy and are happy, if Bitcoin goes down 10% Bitcoin is dead and Bitcoin is useless.

True story. But most of them don't realize the success if not behind the price. Price just means that more people are buying

Price is everything. It greatly impact on miners. I believe most people say bitcoin is dead is actually referring to mining is dead!!
151  Economy / Speculation / Re: You Waited Long Enough ... $300 Bitcoin Happens Today!!! on: March 10, 2015, 03:27:17 PM
great bitcoin back to $300, time to sell

Buy more before it sky rocket. It has been steadily increase and we should see $400 soon.
152  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I am out of the mining game :( on: March 10, 2015, 03:26:00 PM
Is it worth to start mining now?

Nope, not until bitcoin double its current price. But if you have really cheap electricity rate (0.05 cents) and below then you can consider mining.
153  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Turning off miners on: March 10, 2015, 02:26:55 AM
There is also the mentality that even if you are mining at a loss currently at the current bitcoin price in the future if the price goes up you could be making a profit.

Very true... technically speaking, pegging the price of BTC to USD and saying you're mining at a loss is a bit of a fallacy. If you hold BTC and the price relative to USD doubles, you didn't lose anything.

Exactly if you say I am not going to sell until BTC reaches $500 then you would calculate your profits as if it were $500 so you can get the future profitability not the current one were you won't sell,

The theory is that if you are mining at a loss, you could easily stop the mining and use the loss to buy more bitcoin. You would get more bitcoin for the same amount of USD spend.
154  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I am out of the mining game :( on: March 10, 2015, 02:22:55 AM
You might want to look into Burstcoin mining! Cheaper then mining with gpu or asics.

Burstcoin mining isn't profitable anymore, it is profitable for the first month but whale came and wipe out all the profits.
155  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Turning off miners on: March 09, 2015, 06:46:50 AM
The difficulty increase combined with the price drop has me turning off another batch of miners. How about you?

Ya, same thing happened to me.  Witht he oversaturation of the market, I am not making nearly enough for the combined effort and electricity bill to make sense.  I think a lot of people are going to be turning away from mining and finding other ways to get their bitcoin fix!

A lot of people should turn away from mining due to electricity bills, but a lot of them are mining at a loss and they give this reason "to secure the network".

BREAKING NEWS: Rock Xie discloses communication with Friedcat:

We need to translate this ASAP
The fact that the emails were posted as pictures isn't going to help anyone trying to translate them into english. They are timestamped late 2014 up to mid January 2015 which is around the time that FC last logged in. IMO this is really not going to give any additional information

Exactly. I can perfectly translate them, but it will take some time and if no one is interested I really won't bother to do so. Besides, it isn't any useful information at all.

I believe everyone in this thread is interested. Please Translate, it doesn't need to be perfect. Just readable is good!!!
157  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Cloud Mining Profitable? on: March 09, 2015, 03:07:28 AM
Cloud Mining can be profitable but there are too many scamming cloud mining company around. Suggest buying cloud mining only from Hashnest as it is the most reliable and is pretty cheap.
158  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - sell & buy hash rate cloud mining service / multipool on: March 08, 2015, 03:58:56 PM
Is there a way to sort worker base on alphabetical order? Easier for me to spot which one isn't working probably. Thanks
159  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What miner to mine with cpu+windows on: March 07, 2015, 01:23:56 AM
Go look for some CPU only alternate coin in alt-coin section, you should be able to find some pretty high profitable one but it should not last long.
160  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Best available miner to buy ? on: March 07, 2015, 01:21:57 AM
Hello
I got last month SP20 at 215 $/Ths
happy with deal, but because soldout must look others.
SP31 i think is overpriced.
Also I see at zoomhash S4 and SP10 , i think a bit expensive, because i get about the same ratio $/Ths than SP20īs

so I will thanks your opinions to know where and what to buy actually

You can compare price with bitmain tech's Antminer S5, seems to be pretty good and energy efficient. Good luck.
