141  Other / Beginners & Help / For newbies looking for the better paying BTC sites on: November 25, 2013, 04:33:45 AM
To the mod: if you feel this should have been posted elsewhere, please let me know. I thought this might be of interest to the other newbies on the board.

I put up a site last week - http://bitcoinops.com - where I list and review the higher paying free bitcoin sites out there. Faucets, PTC, etc... Yes, some of the reviews contain referral links, but not all by a long shot.

Also, I am doing a free monthly drawing for 0.01 BTC giveaway every month on the 20th. Once you're signed up, you're in for all future drawings as well. The details are on the homepage.

Cheers,

Cynthia

Here's a breakdown of Bitcoin units, just in case any other newbies get confused (like I do sometimes still): https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Units

Sooo close! I rolled a 9780. Only 106 away from earning the next highest payout...sigh...I won the third highest once, but lost it all trying to multiply it...lol...
144  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: First EVER Coinbase Faucet! High Paying (0.00001)! Instant Payout! on: November 24, 2013, 06:40:45 PM
No problem. I don't really need donations as one of my goals is to get an advertiser before releasing the new faucet.

Have you thought about BTCoinAds ( http://bitcoinads.com/publishers.php)? I think they pay CPM instead of PPC so you aren't dependent upon the generosity of your visitors to click on the ads...

EDIT: I just went to sign up for them as well and realized they are still in beta...sigh...oh well
145  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Stay away from Coinbase on: November 24, 2013, 06:24:40 PM
I haven't purchased any BTC yet at CoinBase. I use it predominantly as my wallet and don't leave any great amount sitting in there for long (not that I have a great amount to leave in the first place). Basically everything BTC that I earn goes into CoinBase then deposited to CEX to buy ghs. I made one transfer from my bank to CoinBase - about $80 - and it took approx. 5 days, including the weekend.

I saw that the payout amounts got bumped up a bit - cool Smiley
147  Economy / Services / Re: Got SEO questions? on: November 24, 2013, 03:10:06 PM
What exactly does a SEO consultant do, other than optimizing a client's website structure and titles?

It depends on what the client wants and is prepared to pay the consultant for. At it's most thorough, SEO can involve: optimizing existing content, URL structure, titles, metas, internal link structure, and content organization to actually re-coding how a layout is coded to make it more search engine friendly. It can also include PPC, social media, content writing, backlinks acquisition, and more.
148  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: FREE BITCOINS :) on: November 23, 2013, 10:10:04 AM
I've been doing write-ups on some of the higher paying bitcoin freebie sites out there at http://bitcoinops.com.

CAVEAT: some of the links in the reviews are referral links, but it's a pretty even mix of referral / non-referral links.

I don't know whether the above guys are sock puppets.
But you should not be surprised to see newbies' reply in the newbie board lol.

I do know that it is impossible to send an amount below 0.00005460 bitcoins on the Bitcoin network.

You sure about that? I rec'd a payout of 0.000004 from accumulated earnings at some faucet on 11/16. And on 11/11, 11/12, and 11/14 as well.

tx id?

Here's a screen cap of a partial list of transactions on my CoinBase acct:

There are several payments that are less than .00005 and as you can see, they went through.

So much sock puppet. OP and one positive response registered within two minutes, others registered today about the same time...

0.00005 is useless and unspendable.

Wow...cynical much? This is the one and only account I have on this board. And yes, it may be a small amount, but it's a start for folks who are new to the game (like me). If you don't think it's worth your time, by all means don't click. But don't give me grief when all I was trying to do was be helpful.

First I want to say that I have no ties to these guys except for the fact that I used their site and received the promised BTC. It isn't a referral link either. I was looking for free bitcoin sites to review for my own site and stumbled across them.

Their direct link: http://legendaryfaucet.herokuapp.com/

If you'd like to read my review: http://bitcoinops.com/bitcoin-faucets/free-one-time-bitcoin-from-legendary-faucet/

Have fun!

Cynthia

I believe this old site is no longer working.
BTW, you may try its clone as well.
http://freecoins.herokuapp.com/

For details: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=90718.msg1659032#msg1659032

It does work - I tried it yesterday evening Smiley I will check out the clone though...thank you!

EDIT: The Legendary clone does not work for me. I solve the captcha and enter my BTC address. It indicates that the captcha is solved correctly but then it just idles and never confirms.

156  Economy / Games and rounds / [FREE .01 BTC] - Monthly Giveaway at BitcoinOps.com on: November 22, 2013, 11:56:54 AM
Starting on December 20th, I will be giving away 0.01 BTC every month to one lucky winner. The contest is free to enter and once you're in, you're in for all future drawings as well.

Details: http://bitcoinops.com/free-bitcoin-contests/monthly-bitcoin-giveaway/

What is BitcoinOps?

I'm new to BTC and am checking out every 'earn free BTC' site I can get my hands on. As you know, some are good, some not so good, and some are abso-f*cking-lutely brilliant. My goal is to write reviews on all of the best ones and make it a sort of one-stop resource.

DISCLOSURE: Yes, there are some referral links on the site for those sites that provide them but certainly not every site listed. It helps fund the giveaways and (hopefully) will enable me to INCREASE the prize value over time.

IMPORTANT: you have GOT to e-mail me with your contact and BTC address after you sign up so I can credit you for your entries and notify you if you win!

By the way - if you know of a site that *should* be listed but isn't, let me know!

Thanks,

Cynthia
157  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin Faucet where you can get upto 0.3 BTC every hour **NEW PROMO** on: November 21, 2013, 08:39:18 PM
anyone ever win the .3? just wondering, would be nice to hear someone's testimonial Smiley

Nope. I won the 0.0003 once, but lost it all when I got ambitious and tried some crazy high multiplier because I 'felt lucky'. Go figure Smiley
158  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I found a very interesting way to earn Bitcoins and Litecoins... on: November 21, 2013, 07:44:20 PM
Hiya,

In defence of faucets and other low paying coin give aways it is a good way to get started and to understand how the payment system works before you dive in there and invest lots of money.

Just my 2p worth  Smiley

kw

Exactly. I'm not defending them as a primary source of gathering Bitcoins, not by any stretch. But it's a good way to get your feet wet, so to speak.
159  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: As within, so without on: November 21, 2013, 06:45:32 PM
Litecoin is the most distributed network and least likely to be taken over.

I call it the Communist version of Bitcoin, because they made sure those capitalist pigs couldn't make ASICs to concentrate the supply of coin production into the hands of the few!

Litecoin keeps the printing press in the hands of the many and mining on a level playing field.

This is one of the "many" who can't wrap her head around how to mine LTC. Since the diff is so low, I wanted to mine off my PC. I've dl a couple of different mining clients but am too much of a dunce to configure it...sigh...
160  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I found a very interesting way to earn Bitcoins and Litecoins... on: November 21, 2013, 06:29:39 PM
Wow. If LTC were $10 per you would be making an astonishing $0.072 per hour.

I didn't think it was possible to be any less efficient than CPU mining, but you found it. Congrats!

You're laboring under the assumption that I'm doing nothing but listening to the radio over the phone for hours. I've got it playing over Skype while I go about my day job. Will it make anyone rich? No, but for folks who are just getting started, who don't have the money or the know-how yet to mine - even CPU mining - it's a start.
