141  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling on Local Bitcoin help on: December 21, 2013, 01:15:55 PM
Ok. Thanks for your reply. I just have 1 key question

Say you buy your 1st bitcoin off bitstamp for 650usd. You then go and list it on localbitcoin, but the going price is now 600usd. So you sell it on localbitcoin for 600 and then immediatley go to bitstamp and buy another btc for say 580. You then put it onto localbitcoin but the going rate is 550.  So you sell it for that and then buy more on bitstamp

If this was to happen I think you would lose money (?). Is this correct or is there a way around this?

Many thanks

I am new to mining and I am interested in mining Earthcoin.

Can anyone give me assistance for setting up solo mining, or do you think it would be too difficult for a newbie?

I have looked into pool mining but it is also complicated.

Thankyou for your assistance.
145  Economy / Trading Discussion / Selling on Local Bitcoin help on: December 21, 2013, 10:30:13 AM
Hi there,

I am interested on starting to sell bitcoin on Local bitcoins! I just have a few quick questions, if you have already sold on this website or have experience with this website it would be brilliant if you could answer!

1. Is it easy to make money selling on Local Bitcoins

2. If you have a competitive price how often will you get trades?

3. What is the minimum amount of BTC you can have in your account to sell

Thankyou very much for your help
146  Bitcoin / Project Development / Setting up a new Bitcoin p2p exchange on: December 20, 2013, 06:01:06 PM
As you are all aware most of the transaction charges for p2p bitcoin exchanges are reasonably high (1/2%)

How good would it be if we were able to create a website (like local bitcoins) where this can happen, all be it for a lower transaction fee.

What do you think?

Would this be possible?

Would it be sucessful?

Would it benefit the bitcoining community?

Many thanks

Local Bitcoins is a good site to buy and sell Bitcoins. Find members with trusted feedback and successful trades to do business with. They also have a referral program which will give you some nice bonuses for spreading the word.

I am looking to sell some. How easy is it to sell?

152  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's happening in bitcoin today? on: December 16, 2013, 07:59:47 PM
Going to be a hectic day if I keep looking at the ticker Tongue. I bought in at 1073, hit around  1140 then pop. I am not one to panic sell, but I can't afford to keep losing. Anyone think it will get back to up at least 8-900 this week?

I'm hoping it to be around 1000 by the end of 2014, but I might just be too hopeful!
153  Economy / Speculation / Do i buy now? on: December 16, 2013, 02:48:28 PM
With the recent mini dip in bitcoin, do I buy now or do I leave it?

Thank you

Customers of ours have had really great success arbing between us and Bitstamp. In many cases the BTC spread has been $70 or more.

Can you share the URL with me on PM as well.
155  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buying on 1 exchange and selling on another on: December 15, 2013, 05:11:49 PM
I'm sure a lot of users do this already but don't admit it.

Nonsense. its not practical because of the time taken to withdraw cash from exchanges. Any arbitrage opportunity is quickly filled by market forces.
I know people who did this with a profit. It's especially profitable if you convert to other currencies as well.

Do you know which websites are best for this?
Right now it's not the best time to do this because of big swings. BTC goes up and down by 100$ each day so you can earn without arbitrage.
When a price is more stable it can be profitable. Example - Mt.Gox USD price is always higher than other exchanges, if you buy on btc-e or bitstamp and sell on gox you have instant profit, but as others wrote here, the withdrawal time is long so it may take weeks before you get your fiat and can buy again.

Thankyou for your help
156  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Sending BTC from bitstamp to BTC-E on: December 15, 2013, 05:10:09 PM
Bitstamp will include a fee and the transfer should take no more than 1 hour.

Thanks very much for your help I was worried it was going to take days!

Do you know what the fee is?

Thanks

just pennies. dont worry.

Thankyou very much for helping.

Hi there,

I am wanting to send some BTC from bitstamp to BTC-E, I have never done this before!

On BTC-E it say 'Transaction confirmation on the Bitcoin network can take from 1 hour and up to 3 days if you send it without fee.'  Has it taken this long for anyone? Can I speed it up by adding a fee?  If yes how do I add a fee?

Thankyou very much

this practice is known as arbitrage, it's possible, but it's currently hard to do because the exchanges have pretty long withdrawal times.

Thanks for your help
