141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: URGENT advice needed - R9 280x or 7970 ? on: December 17, 2013, 09:11:56 PM
Hey,

I JUST HAVE TO GET A CARD in the NEXT 12 HOURS !!

From what I have read R9 280x is just a modified version of 7970 .

So R9 280x costs extra too . Should I opt for a 7970 or a R9 280x ?

Any reason to opt for one or the other ... seeing around seems like the hashrate looks somewhat the same (correct me if I am wrong).

Anybody who has experience or knows some technical details about hese cards ?

Regards

What are you mining with GPU?

I see people talking about new currencies and see on coin wars they list them all out but how are thease all able to sustain?  And how can you tell if they are legit?

I guess out end goals are all similar convert to btc and then cash or product.

I don't think there is a safe long term play for holing bitcoins.  But hey Iam sure many said that about apple stock Smiley

Personally Iam into bitcoins and lite coins.

Noting is 100% secure and full proof.  You should hedge your risk.

It seems litecoin is the 2nd most pouplar.  As of now it seems only GPU mining is the options for light coin which helps even the playing field.    What is a good exchange to sell lite coins for btc?

It will be interesting to see where BTC goes as the next level of miners come out.

I have been using coinbase and its been super smooth.  it took me only a few days to get a verified account as opposed to mt.gox took me over two weeks.  I have lightly funded my account on mt. gox so i have not tired to withdraw, but looking at their site it doesn't seems to be a smooth processes.   Look at coinbase.com
