I just think its really lame how Geeza wrote like 5 novels out about how he needed this and would repay, then defaults.
There could be someone out there who really does need a small loan, really bad, for whatever reason. And now if they try as hard as he did, they probably wont get a loan because of one bad egg.
Just makes me sad.

This is a super late response, but I ran into the exact same problem as you on Ubuntu 14.04 today so I thought I'd share. Built BerkeleyDB 4.8 from scratch which resulted in a successful compile but received the same error when trying to start the daemon.
Turns out a simple "apt-get install libdb4.8++" does the trick.
Exactly what he says, this should do the trick. Ive had this problem before. |

The reason why they updated is because of safety, so you should really try to get the wallet to work.
