If power costs were 0.03c per kw instead of 0.35c per kw (excluding supply charges) and without having to run air conditioning 24/7 then the rigs would be able to run at a much cheaper rate to be sustainable. There are other factors as well that may not allow people to farm on their own. Such as heat, space, humidity, building electrical capacity (domestic), noise, time and effort to keep the rigs running.

It is a niche market and there are people out there that are looking to use these services, which we are more than happy to provide at Crypto Rigs.

The people renting are all mining other ALT coins, which are a lot more profitable than LTC at the moment.

Some are also pointing at multicoin pools, so they are mining the most profitable automatically.

At the current difficulty and network hashrate, i wouldn't be mining LTC either.

Many thanks

#1 Hoping to have available tomorrow morning

#2 Expires 27 Dec 13 @ 2200 AEST

#3 Expires 23 Dec 13 @ 2300 AEST

#4 Expires 23 Dec 13 @ 2300 AEST

#5 Expires TBA - awaiting reply

#6 Expires 23 Dec 13 @ 2300 AEST

Did you have a particular rig in mind? How long are you looking at renting?

Thanks =)
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin (or other coins) mining rigs for rent on: December 22, 2013, 09:28:03 AM
Just a few pics of #1 and #2 rigs.

#3 and #4 are pretty much identical, except the GPU's.

#5 and #6 will be migrated over the Christmas holidays.

This configuration provides a wind tunnel affect. The electric fan pushes a lot of air through the first and second rigs. Both rigs have 6x 120mm fans moving the air as well. Pretty well actually. =)

I spaced out the GPU's as much as possible so that heat is kept to a minimum. GPU fans are normally between 1000rpm-3000rpm depending on temperature of the room.

Good Afternoon Cryptonians,

I am Rubberduckie's mate who is running the above mentioned rigs.

Please post in this thread for rental requests, questions, concerns, comments, feedback, etc.

All rigs are currently rented with two rigs expiring at 2300 AEST.

Renters who are already renting will get first priority as they are already setup and running. When their rental expires, it will be a queue system with first in first serve.

In the near future i will be moving the rigs to a Data Center with 24/7 power, air conditioning, internet and security. On top of that, the Data Center will also have redundancy systems in place to keep the rigs running. I am in the process of getting quotes now from numerous Data Centers in Sydney.

I will also be expanding my farm in the near future once stock comes into Sydney, Australia.

I look forward to serving the Crypto Community and providing a quality service.

Spread the word, spread the love.

Thanks for looking and renting. =)

Chris

148  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: got 10 MH/s SCRYPT to play with what do you reccomend? on: December 20, 2013, 09:34:38 PM
You can use coinwarz.com or coinchoose.com to decide where you want to focus your mining.

Or you can join a mutlicoin pool that switches automatically to the most profitable coin.

I was using WeMineLTC as my main pool, LiteGuardian as first failover and givemecoins as second failover.

LTC is not very profitable at the moment, so yeah i recommend mining other coins and converting.
149  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's your KH/S, MH/S or TH/S, power consumption and electricity bills? on: December 20, 2013, 09:18:07 PM
I have the following rigs:

1) 4x7950 MSi TF3 @ 2,528 kh/s @ 900w
2) 4x7950 MSi TF3 @ 2,528 kh/s @ 950w
3) 3x7950 GB WF3 + MSi TF3 @ 2,064kh/s  @ 900w (Gigabyte cards use more power than the MSi cards)
4) 4x7970 Sapphire Dual-X @ 2,880 kh/s @ 1200w
5) 2x7950 GB WF3 @ 1,260 kh/s @ 550w
6) 2x6850 GB WF @ 500 kh/s @ 300w

That's 11760 kh/s @ 4800 watts.

Cost wise, i'll let you know when i get bill shock. I'm estimating around around $3,500 - $4,000 every quarterly bill. That is JUST for powering the rigs. That doesn't even take into consideration aircon and fans, internet and other things needs to keep them online.

Advice on your rig location, I don't know your geographic location or how often you need physical access to your rigs but you could collocate that setup into a datacenter for cheaper than your power bill.  A lot of places offer half-rack (21U) with dedicated cooling and redundant power for <$1,000 month.  I started saving ~$1,200/mo in power by moving my rigs into a DC.

Sounds like a great idea. =)

I'm in Sydney, Australia and this country isn't the most coldest in the world.

Yesterday was 41'C (106'F). We're in summer until February. Winter isn't too cold here.

But i will look into the DC idea. =)

It's certainly worth a shot to eliminate that power issues.  If you do go that route I highly recommend getting an offline console device (similar to a DRAC) so you can still gain console access if you have a hardware failure. Many times I've got an alert than a GPU was down; instead of driving to the DC I can just console in and disable it temporarily until I have a few minutes to drive in.

I can remote into all the machines already. They are currently located offsite as it is too hot to have them at home.

I am remoting into them now and updating people's pool details as they email me with requests.

So i've got that part covered. =)

Just running costs is what i need to look into.

G'day fellow Cryptonians,

I have just started a mining rig rental business.

I've got about 11mh/s (scrypt) of hashing power. All currently being rented.

All rigs were rented out within minutes.

I hope all goes well and i can maintain a steady rental agreement with fellow cryptonians.

Regards,
Crypto Rigs

I was originally mining LTC, but due to network difficulty and hashrate, it became unprofitable.

So just renting them all now just so that i can keep going without having to sell my rigs.

Much ouch at the moment.

Just jumping through the hoops. =)
155  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Great estimation tools for buying a miner on: December 20, 2013, 07:11:10 PM
I use the genesis block calculator and it's very helpful.

It's mind blowing the amount of hashing power that has increased over all the cryptos lately.

I can't even expand my rigs as there are no cards to buy and the ones that are for sale are selling for above RRP. But, that's how Supply and Demand works.
