141  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Anyone use raspberry pi with armory? NT on: February 26, 2013, 07:25:33 PM
Ok just read the whole stuff and that sounds great.
i have an old laptop lying around, ill install that with linux and truecrypt and run the offline armory wallet from there.

so for as far as i understand it, the online wallet only contains the public keys?
and if my online version ever gets whacked i just make a new copy of the offline wallet and im good to go?

sounds good!

i was wondering: doesn't armory need a version of bitcoin-qt running with an uploaded blockchain in the background ?
And if i need to connect my pc to the internet to update the blockchain doesn't that pose a security threat since i want to keep my offline pc offline ?

bovenaan je pagina staat wel het btc-logo maar onderaan weer niet, misschien is het beter om het "standaard" bitcoin logo te gebruiken, btc snapt niet iedereen denk ik.
zie bijvoorbeeld: http://sanshinkai.eu/wp-content/uploads/bitcoin-accepted-here-168x64.png

Just sent a donation,

Is it an idea to maybe do sort of a status update/press release on the forum or mabye via some newssite to highlight the project and the status.
And that would also be a good opportunity to ask for donations ?

hi jim,

thanks for your reply,

what exactly is done when a client "relays a transaction" does it check the transaction just like a miner ? and how does relaying a transaction help the network ?

152  Other / MultiBit / Re: MultiBit on: January 16, 2013, 09:03:15 PM
just a little offtopic question:

Multibit is a "light" client is it not ? and the bitcoin-qt client is a, how do you call it "full client". Difference is that the full client participates in checking transactions on the network and the light client does not. am i correct in that ?

and if so:
1. could people just run a bitcoin-qt client with an empty wallet just for the sake of supporting the network ?
2. wouldn't it be great if multibit also has an option so that you can choose between light and full ?

Hi Jim,

Maybe a stupid question but: The encrypted wallets are not yet implemented in version 4, but will be in version 5?
and do you have an idea when version 5 will leave the beta status.

Sorry but havent been catching up with the the bitcoin-clients lately.

@augustocroppo

wow, well this goes above my head but im glad you responded to my question with more than "he's a cult leader". I guess he says a lot that probarbly does not makes sense to you but ti a laymen like he can make things a lot more understandable, like the difference between a opinion and a fact.

but: Do you maybe have a podcast that you think it worth-while listening to? do you have like a favorite author?

Roland.

@augustocroppo & @firstascent

I listen to him now and then and i like his philosophical idea's, the free market utopia side of his idea's i like less but you can learn something from everything. even if you dont fully agree.

What exactly is your problem with the work of stephan molyneux?, which things he says do you not like'?

159  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Rational Ethics on: December 25, 2012, 05:55:22 AM
Yeah or check out his free books, theyre worth the read!
