141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC dominance decreasing. on: May 01, 2017, 07:01:25 AM
A couple of months back (March), I remember seeing bitcoin dominance about 85% when It comes to the market capitalization. Its currently 59.2% and probably will continue to decrease in the next a few days. Is this something to be worried about?

Source: https://coinmarketcap.com/charts/#btc-percentage

Yeah the altcoins are certainly rising with bitcoin which is sort of strange because usually the altcoins like Ethereum and Monero will rise when bitcoin is crashing or bitcoin is stagnant but right now they are increasing alongside bitcoin, in bitcoin terms as well when bitcoin is increasing in value itself.

I wouldn't say that anytime soon bitcoin dominance will hit under 50% though, because bitcoin is still after all the major cryptocurrency and the #1 cryptocurrency by trading volume, user base as well as market capitalization by far right now.

And there is definitely a lot more ICOs coming out these days as well, probably contributing to the decline.

143  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for someone to post a thread on: May 01, 2017, 06:05:57 AM
Looking for someone with an active and high tier bitcointalk account who can post a thread for me. I can reward them with some great stuff if you get in contact with me via PM.

I can do this for you but honestly there is no point.

You have already a pretty good account level, full member takes a long time to get to. A lot of people get bored of bitcoin even before they reach full member, making that rank pretty special already.

Plus if you're advertising a company you'll find much more success if you just truthfully used your own account to post the thread and pose as admin instead of having someone else do it for you. People will wonder why are you trying to hide yourself.

Anyways, let me know if you need me, if yes i'm happy to do it for you.
144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lost over 12 btcs gambling on dice on: April 29, 2017, 11:05:37 PM
Losing bitcoins is not the house's fault but yours. You know so well that dice games and the likes are "luck-based" games which is a 50/50 coin toss thing. Even if you try to set the percentage of you winning to a higher side, the house can still screw you up. You were better off holding it or try sports betting instead other than blindly playing dice with your lousy methods.
If the game were actually 50/50 chance, then it would have been a level play ground, but the house edge tilts the game in favor of the house, so a player is always having less than 50 chance of winning, whereas the house always have 50% chance plus the extra the house edge brings it. That ultimate turns out in the favor of the house and much more so given they most often have huge balances that enables them able to hold out most strategies until a player eventually run out of fund or reach limit for maximum bet.

Exactly, if the games were 50/50 then the house obviously will be in the negatives in the long run if you take into account the server running costs, promotion costs, signature campaign costs, etc. etc.

That's why the house edge always is in the casino's favour - otherwise there is no point in running a casino, the admins can just gamble PvP with other opponents and save themselves of the running costs.

@OP, i'm really sorry to hear about your loss but honestly, this same situation all happens to us at one point or another. Get over this hurdle, find yourself something worthwhile of doing, you'll find that life is so much more than just gambling and wasting time and money on gambling.
145  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Top 5 reasons to trust Bitcoin on: April 29, 2017, 10:55:11 PM
This Monday for my weekly video I made a quick list of reasons that Bitcoin is trustworthy. This is mostly geared towards new users.

https://youtu.be/m74t8gBjtcY

I love your videos Ben.

They are so informative but entertaining at the same time, and you do it in a way that everyone can understand easily. No more bitcoin jargon that scared the crap out of me when I was a newbie at bitcoin.

And I love how you always try to keep your videos objective - even in the bitcoin unlimited vs bitcoin core video I think you handled it really well, analysing both the advantages and disadvantages of both.

Please keep up the weekly vids Smiley
146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ANY BTC HOLDER WORST NIGHTMARE, and it happened to me... on: April 29, 2017, 10:47:35 PM
Hey guys,

I just want to share my story, because I feel like only people in this community can get that,

We all know the pizza story, the "young swede than became a millionaire in 2013" story, the lost hard drive story and this one that can happen to anyone:

======>I lost my passphrase. 6months ago, tried everything, even hired "bitcoin dave", nope, nothing, no password no bitcoin.

I was too scared to get hacked somehow or to let a piece of paper with indications about it... Now I'm screwed, I can't find it, no matter what I try my Bitcoins are lost forever. I always kept them, spent .10 of them once and that's it. All of my fortune behind this password was made through mining dogecoin on day one and other altcoins. And guess what, I lost the passphrase to the dogecoins too (1million Doge, could be worse)...
6 months ago I had a little financial down moment, decided to see if I could sell one, and discovered that I forgot the password.

Now, it would be the thing to save my ass (3,5 BTC is a good chunk of change for me) and be able to get back on my feet, and I feel so stupid.

Just wanted to share my experience, kinda looking for mental support here!

Take care (and remind yourself your passphrase everyday, you don't want this feeling I swear).

Jesus man.

Always the worst nightmare when you can't find whatever you stored your bitcoins on that was supposde to be 100% secure. I mean technically the coins are still secure but nobody has any access to it anymore.

And to lose these bitcoins just when it's peaking at over $1,300, and dogecoin is rising steadily as well... That's insult to injury...

Any information about where you stored the coins? Whether it's just a private key encrypted with a password, or is it stored on an online service?

Did you lose the private key to 1DGLZ2cDMrUPor4CmWxjsVzzYSyimUUYbC?

If so you should probably take it out of your signature.

Probably not because it has 0 transactions on that address.
147  Economy / Speculation / Re: if BTC's 'market share' goes sub 50% this year what effect will this have? on: April 29, 2017, 04:32:22 AM
i believe it's very possible bitcoin's 'market share' will go near or below 50% at some point this year.

i'm not pumping alts. most of them are still worthless junk, but that doesn't seem to be stopping anyone. check out all the crazy figures ethereum related icos are pulling off.

personally i think the market share thing is a load of crap anyway, they shouldn't be treated as two sides of the same thing, but i'm wondering if you think this'll affect your own perception of bitcoin and that of others.

i think an absolutely unprecedented alt bubble is brewing that'll eventually implode horribly. it's filling with more hot air by the day. it won't be because of 'bitcoin is failing' fud. it'll be good old get rich quick greed.

i also think bitcoin will still perform very strongly this year but do you think the two markets will decouple completely or would there be some correlation?

I think that it is possible, but not probable.

Personally for me at least and many others that I know, bitcoin will always be #1. No matter whether bitcoin's market share out of all the cryptocurrencies goes under 50% or not, it'll be the biggest cryptocurrency by far.

But if it does happen, I think that alts will definitely be pumped a lot.

It'll probably be in a bubble situation though, won't last long. It'll be back to 50-60% at least once the hype dies off from a certain altcoin.
148  Economy / Speculation / Re: ask for invest in bitcoin on: April 29, 2017, 04:12:31 AM
Hello friends....
Is that good time to buy bitcoin..need ur reply for safe investment...i heard that bitcoin will dump to1000$..so in these rumours i can't do that decide proper fact

Well, there is nobody that will predict the bitcoin price with 100% certainly because that is completely false. Nobody can ever predict anything with 100% certainty, even if the market capitalisation is as small as bitcoin's or even altcoins.

I personally do not think that bitcoin will crash to $1000 or sub-$1000 because right now the floor is $1,200 and the second line of defence is $1,150. To get to $1,000 would see some sort of big negative news being cast on bitcoin, or something really out of the ordinary which I don't expect to happen.

If you want to invest in bitcoin, don't worry about the short term variance. Simply put your bought bitcoin safely into either a hardware wallet like Ledger or Trezor, or in a paper wallet. Stash it away somewhere safe. In a decade or two you'll find your wealth grow exponentially.
149  Economy / Speculation / Re: $2000 anyone? on: April 29, 2017, 03:51:58 AM
The hope is there for current holders but what about people that want to get into BTC when the price is $2000?

Would you buy as a newbie at 2000 or even as an holder? So we may see some people being very happy with that price however new investment may slow a bit cos it will be really high.
Never buy at the high.

Very very true.

I think that it'll be a very interesting situation if the price shot up to more than $2000. Personally as a bitcoin holder i am very very happy if that ever happens because I've already stocked up with a nice amount of bitcoins in my cold storage.

However for the newbies that are just getting into bitcoin, it'll be tough for them because the price may be in a bubble if it shot up in a week from $1500 to $2000 and would crash in just a few days back down to $1000~. They have a huge risk to take on.

That's why it's a great time to buy now Smiley
150  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How Much we can earn here weekly Through signature campaign on: April 29, 2017, 03:22:16 AM
Hello friends ,

Just wanted to Know On an average How much we can earn In Btc From signature campaign and what are the factors to Increase the earnings ..?

Please suggest .

Thanks

The average campaign you'll find right now is around 0.01-0.015 BTC a week for full member/senior member.

I would say that the single most deciding factor for increasing your pay is simply try to rank your account up. Stay active and contribute to the community and naturally you will become a veteran member. Keep your post quality high, because not only will you get more pay once you get on higher ranks if you keep your post quality high you won't get rejected from a campaign.

Good luck finding a suitable campaign, and welcome to bitcointalk.
151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What did you buy for money won? on: April 29, 2017, 03:04:12 AM
Hi guys!
It's often discussed here that you can't make any money from gambling, but in general it's just not true. House edge is usually quite low so the most of the money go back to players. Of course some one wins more than he bet, some one wins less and loses in the end. It's all about luck. I am sure that the most of you was lucky at least once and made some nice money. So my question goes here: How did you spend this money? Did you buy some presents for your close ones? Did you buy something for you? Did you invested it, saved it or even put back into gambling (and then made even more or lost it?)?
Share your stories Smiley)
Cheers,
OshiHugo

First of all, you're sort of twisting the facts here.

House edge is usually quite low, yes. But there is still a house edge that prevents players from profiting in the long run and you should know because otherwise, why would you be running a casino? The house always WINS. Find all the people you can find on the world that have profited from gambling and put them together with all the gamblers that have lost. You'll find the group that have lost largely outsize the winning group.

Secondly regarding your question, i usually withdraw my bitcoins and get on localbitcoins to sell the bitcoins I have won for my local currency, so that I don't go back again to gamble. It's always so tempting.
152  Economy / Speculation / Re: $2000 anyone? on: April 29, 2017, 02:02:04 AM
I think it will be $2000 in 6 months or less..

I think it is definitely very possible.

People back in the days said that bitcoin will never go over $100 again. They were obviously so wrong. I think we are going to see bitcoin go up again in a major way soon - in fact this year is certainly the year of bitcoin. It has stayed above the $1,000 mark for the longest time in all of bitcoin's short history i think. We have achieved stability and stable growth over the past few months which is great.

If this trend contiues, $2000 in even 3 months isn't an issue.

It all depends a lot on the hard fork though, and that'll have a major impact on BTC.
153  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are bitcoins worth to become a career?? on: April 29, 2017, 01:54:05 AM
Is it??

Post your opinions and status in bitcoin and lets talk about it Smiley

Depends what you mean really. If you're just talking about bitcoin mining then no, it is definitely not worth it to become a full time bitcoin miner simply because the difficulty has skyrocketed and it has become so unprofitable that you'll probably be giving money to keep your mining rigs functional. Unless you can have a large operation base as well as dirt cheap electricity, don't even think about bitocin mining.

If you just want to work for bitcoins then i would say it's a good idea. However there is little difference between that and working for fiat and then converting these fiat dollars into bitcoin in my opinion.

If you have a skill to offer for a bitcoin based company, by all mean sgo for it. In fact that's my dream career Tongue
154  Economy / Economics / Re: Indian Economy at all-time high! What you say..? on: April 29, 2017, 01:19:26 AM
So today is the remarkable day for Indian Economy.
Indian Stock Exchange closed at all time high 30,135, first time 30k+. Moreover, Bitcoin crossed $1400 in domestic market of India.
So how you all guess Indian Economy in coming future. Is it going to be the new super power on international frontier? Does India seeing its best government ever?
Waiting for views....

I think that as soon as India can get itself out of its cash crunch situation, its economy will boom again.

China will not keep up with the competition of India because India simply has more manpower and its labour is dirt cheap. China is trying its hardest to manipulate its currency to stay low but the free market forces will simply drive it up again as the Chinese Yuan is increasingly becoming traded on the open markets.

Paytm and other payment processors will benefit from this boom in my opinion as the people in India are already used to using these apps to conduct day to day trading activities. Bitcoin in India? It's very possible as well.
155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When to leave the game? on: April 24, 2017, 12:56:09 AM
As you know that you need to stop and leave the game? How can you feel this moment. I almost always lose their money because they can't learn when to leave the game. I'm not sorry to lose. I have a lot of money not to lose, but I can't keep the winnings if I'm lucky.

I always set myself a target to reach, and a minimum balance.

If i reach that target, I always leave and cashout.

If i ever fall under that minimum balance I set myself, I leave as well, and cashout.

This is the way you go because it minimises losses and you can get to keep the earnings that you make if you turn out to profit.
156  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Artificial intelligence. on: April 24, 2017, 12:55:01 AM
It has long been the development of artificial intelligence. We've all seen the movie "Terminator" and we know where it may lead. On the other hand for a person is very attractive to shift all the work to robots. You for which option?

Definitely for.

I mean it's going to be great because all the jobs can be handed over to the robots, and the life we can lead wil be so much easier and the quality of life will be better as we have more free time etc.

But of course, there is a scary side that AI will take over the world. Personally i don't buy it Smiley

Hello,
I Presend my project: Coinium - New bitcoin exchange platform with lowest fee.

Website link: www.coinium.net

Main page Screenshoot:

Account Screenshoot:

Hope you enjoy  Smiley

Site actually looks pretty nice.

I suggest you list the pairs that you accept to trade on the main page much like Poloniex, so that people can view it properly.

When I click on market depth, it doesn't work.

You'll have to gain much trust from the community before your project is able to take off. As a newbie, you won't find much success.
158  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: any services like pushtx.btc.com ????$$$ on: April 24, 2017, 12:45:45 AM
found a tx accelerator but it looks very much like a scam, anyone used https://www.cashthebit.com/transaction-accelerator before?

Pretty sure that is a scam.

They are not directly involved with any operational mining pools which makes me think that they just want your 1% of your transaction. They also offer 5% weekly and 20% monthly investment plans, which makes it even more dodgy.

Anyways, the only paid service right now is pushtx.btc.com. That's your only option but they're pretty trustworthy.
159  Economy / Goods / Re: Lukey372's Gold/Silver Bullion Shop on: April 24, 2017, 12:39:18 AM
I was wondering if someone could be used to verify the legitimacy of the gold as well?

I mean there are a lot of scammers out there especially dealing with an anonymous and irreversible payment method like bitcoin that would get you fake gold. And heck, the Chinese are selling these PAMP bars by the dozens on Aliexpress.

Perhaps buckrogers could be used as a verifier?

I'm interested but out of cash, and need to pay bills for the end of the month... Too bad can't take advantage of that sexy offer...
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: January 15, 2015, 12:03:37 AM
It's time that blackcoin gets more independent.

We need USD/BLK markets on the big exchanges. The black fruit is mature for that Smiley.

Exco.in already has NuBits market, why not also add USD/EUR market?

I personally never liked all the BTC and LTC markets where you loose 3 times more money if market collapses.

I don't even like POW coins anymore Wink.

thank you,
randywald

With the latest BTC sell off, it would be good if we had steady BLK/USD market.
