I did some research: According to wikipedia, A virtual currency or virtual money has been defined in 2012 by the European Central Bank as "a type of unregulated, digital money, which is issued and usually controlled by its developers, and used and accepted among the members of a specific virtual community". The US Department of Treasury in 2013 defined it more tersely as "a medium of exchange that operates like a currency in some environments, but does not have all the attributes of real currency".
According to the definition, virtual currency is opposite with the real currency released by countries.
On the other hand, digital currency is defined as: Digital currency is a form of virtual currency or medium of exchange that is electronically created and stored. Some digital currencies, such as Bitcoin, are cryptocurrencies. Like traditional money these currencies may be used to buy physical goods and services but could also be restricted to certain communities such as for example for use inside an on-line game or social network.
As a result, digital currency is defined as the currency which is electronically created and stored, which is opposite with traditional paper based currency.
As a result, maybe there is no controversy because the two have different categories definition

Client Upgrade for Relaunch and Better Network PropagationThis update finally fixes the network propagation issue. So far, I have done a little testing and it works amazingly! It was a very small bug that I did not notice at first, but now is fixed. Source Code: https://github.com/slimcoin/slimcoinBinaries: https://github.com/slimcoin/slicmoin-executableOnce you have updated the walletIf you are past block 15935, there is no need to delete the files. Delete your addr.dat, blk0001.dat, and blkindex.dat files in the .slimcoin directory. NOT your wallet.dat file. Add the addnodes on the OP (I will update it) to your slimcoin.conf file and start up the new client. You will have all of your coins before and including block 15935. If it seems to you that you are missing coins after the updateThe first time you start up, run the client with the -rescan flag. That will salvage burnt coins and make them effective again. Also, one it is started, send the rpc command checkwallet. If the output says something about X amount of coins, that means those coins were staked, but then a fork was encountered and they were left on the old fork. If that happens, simple run the repairwallet command and you will salvage those coins back into your wallet so to speak. I updated few hours ago, and i am now at block 16373, do i have to delete the files in conf folder? or i just update the qt? I saw: If you are past block 15935, there is no need to delete the files.thanks in advance

lol damn internet doesn't forget my failure at the english language.
also, what the shit happened to 1.6 GB of ram required? 15 just pretty well shot this in the ass again.
Yes, you are right, 15GB is too much, one need to have at least 3 sticks of 8 GB to mine 1.6, or even as high as 8GB is good.

I think it is unlikely for a strike, if some miners stopped mining, others will be rewarded more. There will always be more incentive if mining difficulty drops.

I think i should make some backups right now ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) better later then too late. I plan to only copy the wallet.dat, this should be enough right? And must i use the backup function in the wallet or is to copy the *.dat enough? thanks sorry for the noobish question but does anyone know? Your wallet.dat and also export your private keys. Thanks for the remind, I hope you will restore the .dat One thing i am not sure, what do the private keys do? Normally I just save the .dat wallet.

SUPRNOVA POOL NOT RESPONDING?
Until now, it works for me, although the displayed hash rate fluctuate quite a bit, but I think it doesn't influence the actual shares.

This coin is good because of its extreme fairness. If some features can be developed, that would be great, such as privacy, etc.

Hi rfcdejong, would you like to share your up to date block chain info in dropbox or mega download? I have tried to sync, but still stuck at 15157. If you can share, it would be best so forum member can just download the block chain to be in the right fork. Thanks in advance never mind, i have synced, thanks all the same

I was able to sync to block 15863 with this conf
addnode=144.76.139.111 addnode=23.92.86.148 addnode=68.3.131.174 addnode=77.237.251.163 addnode=92.222.27.45
connect=148.251.7.102 bantime=1 banscore=11111111
It's still syncing. Network block now 15910 I think.
