I firmly believe Satoshi did not develop the Bitcoin protocol for profit. Venture out of this sub forum. You'll find some of the top developers discussing their great ideas openly. If there is a real cost involved in moving something forward, people will see value in the idea and will support it in any way they can.
If someone can build further or contribute in any way, it's pretty much always accepted.

And you still live in a world of idealism. Which means you are under the age of 26, maybe a touch older if your slightly behind. Probably never had to work or fight for anything in your life. Never worked in the cutthroat corporate world. Never been truly scammed for anything substantial. Never came to the realization that all people do all things all the time because they benefit from it. And yes *shocking revelation* even giving your sandwhich to that bum on the street was done for self gratification and to fill a basic self serving need. Stop me when I'm wrong. Firstly, you don't know me. Secondly, the benefit comes from what Bitcoin truly offers, and it's not about getting rich. Idealism? Sure. Bitcoin was founded on an ideology that enables us to be free from entities that are destroying our financial systems. Aside from that, as someone that is in a different country almost weekly, Bitcoin is a currency without borders, and that appeals to me. Either way, good luck. |

Only 64 Coins listed with full details on http://coinmarketcap.com/ but a few hundred coins available, most of them new!! What are your thoughts? Can a coin succeed if it's not on it? No, of course a coin can't succeed without being listed on coinmarketcap. Bitcoin would have never got to where it is today without it!  |

At least make the price higher to discourage all the crapcoins I would prefer that it was totally free, this is the best tool to make all these scamcoin worthless  How much to buy the rights to make this free for everyone? Maybe create a wallet for people to contribute to this? I'm pretty sure you could get a few BTC pretty quick this way. |

I think xorxor is going to drown. The amount of coins coming out now is insane. Even if someone does come up with something innovative now, it'll just get lost in the sea of crap.

I question why none of the mods here have posted his email address or even commented on this? Money funnelling like this, on this scale, he's not the only one involved, and with his address we can search other sites that it may be listed on. His nickname shows up on btce chat logs, for instance. Too bad we can't explore the block chain with a visual aid, maybe it would help explore where the doge is ending up, similar to this: http://blockchain.info/tree/105867105I'm pretty sure you'll find most of the doge moving very quickly to Cryptsy's wallet and dumped on the exchange. |

Just curious, How long does it take to make one altcoin?, meaning complete whole process .
If you have to set up your environment from scratch, maybe an hour. If you're all set up, 10 minutes. Check out Shakezulas tutorial on Devtome for creating altcoins. It has step by step instructions with images. You can't really go wrong. |

I'm lazy - it currently just uses the existing genesis block. This does introduce a bug that the first difficulty adjustment doesn't work, but thats useful for those who want to premine a bit anyway. LOL - It works? Wouldn't the wrong blockchain download, then? How severe is the bug anyway. Yes, it works fine and you do not end up on the wrong chain as long as you have a different network packet magic - as your node will never peer with another node with a different magic. Can't someone just append a more mature blockchain to it though? Seems extremely vulnerable. Or maybe I'm missing something. |

I have been compiling a list of the biggest issues with bitcoin so I can attempt to solve them while keeping everything decentralized. Well, I've solved my first one.
My idea has huge marketing and PR potential. It also has the potential to make cryptocurrencies much more user friendly and gives them a broader audience base.
So here is my claim:
-A relatively simple programming change is needed, could be implemented on just about any existing client based decentralized coin
-Huge PR potential, and legitimately newsworthy
-Ingenious and elegant solution to one of the biggest issues with bitcoin
-The problem it solves is one of the barriers for the general public
-Implementing this change will broaden the user base of the coin, meaning more average people would likely use it.
I'm asking for 10 BTC to release this idea to you personally at which point you can do whatever you like with it. Alternatively, if the community decides to they want to donate to release the idea publicly in this thread, place a message on this thread with our donation amount (dont actually send any BTC). If the donation amounts reach 10 BTC, I will send a message to each you asking to send your donation.
I'm not interested in doing all the work of a new coin built around this idea, we have too many as it is. It would be better suited for an existing coin.

You're missing the idea of this being largely an open source community where people share ideas and come up with solutions that will benefit this planet as a whole. |
