141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL] Mining Pool Hub - Multipool. Multialgo, Auto Exchange to any coin. on: April 01, 2017, 10:51:16 PM
With a Baikal Giant I have problem with qubit algo on MPH , only one half of the device hashes from the two, is there anybody who knows what can cause this?
I have no proof, but from several users around the net.......it is likely an issue with the sgminer version in the newer units
Must be that. Is there a link to the 4.xx?
I don't have a link to sgminer/4.9.4 which is what my mini uses, nor do I know the process of changing sgminer versions inside the Baikal image/software. Shouldn't be that hard to do though, assuming it is compatible with a giant. I got no clue on that issue since I don't know if the version they used was made specifically for the giant. *shrugs*

How do you mine anonymous?
Why do some contacts appear stars?
https://miningpoolhub.com/?page=account&action=edit
People with stars are probably donating to the site.

@miningpoolhub How feasible would it be for you to add an extra layer of anonymity to the coins mined, similar to a bitcoin mixer? This pool already works similar to a mixer in that it combines mined coins and sends them to an exchange, the BTC comes back to one wallet and is then distributed to users.

I realize users wanting higher anon would need to register a new account, using an email completely unassociated to them and only access that mined account in a secure fashion(such as through Tails and Tor browser). What got me thinking about higher anon security was a client that wanted his rigs to be running Tails, but he settled on Whonix instead.

I don't know your specific setup but think you said you use AWS, which could theoretically be seized. I suppose that if your "payout" wallet and all related equipment was in a more secure location(meaning not easily subpoenaed/seized by the USA or such) then a mixer type service could be done.

Depending on how much trouble it is to set up securely, a mixer would be a value added service to the pool users Smiley Any thoughts?

Something I do when assembling a miner is to use an eraser on all the contacts to remove any oils or corrosion/oxidation. I suppose a normal pencil eraser would work in a pinch, but I always keep stand-alone erasers on hand. You know.......the rectangular erasers an inch or so wide and a couple of inches long and maybe 3/8th thick.
Do you mean rubber eraser?
I use Pink Pearl

Ok thats where I was confused....580 8g will be similar to the current cards but the vega cards are the ones to watch out for..

To be honest I was actually talking about the vega cards, I was wondering if I should wait on those cards.

If your saying the vega cards need time for the mining software to be developed then it might be worth grabbing a few 470s before they go out of stock.
I expect the Vega cards to be significantly higher priced, much as the Fury and Nano cards were higher. Probably close to double the cost of a 5xx card. From what I can see, the smart money is on waiting until the 5xx cards are released, which will reduced the price of 4xx cards..........but the performance difference in mining will likely mean the 4xx overall ROI and earnings will make them the best choice. It all comes down to price per hash.

What does this balance mean?

Coin    Credited    Credited for Auto Exchange    On Exchange
Adzcoin    0    0 (300.41800833)    0    Manage Wallet
Bitcoin    0.00593506    0    0    Manage Wallet
Ethereum    0    0    0.00000835    Manage Wallet
Feathercoin    0    0 (69.37051846)    0    Manage Wallet
Gamecredits    0    0 (14.29643876)    11.69358219    Manage Wallet
Geocoin    0    3.49034323    0    Manage Wallet
Sexcoin    0    0 (9.40005832)    1,309.10280731    Manage Wallet
Verge-Scrypt    0    0    636.25196676    Manage Wallet
coins in (  ) are coins recently mined that will go to exchange once they confirm. Those already on exchange are just waiting to be sold. Once sold it take a bit of time for the money to come back to the pool and get sent to your btc wallet(if you are exchanging coins for btc for example)

So the difference between those in bracket and those outside brackets are just when they are mined. I see. If I want to know the amount of bitcoin I truly owned I just multiply all the numbers with the price.

For example, I have 9.4 + 1309.1 sexcoin. I don't have to care whether the coins are in bracket or not. Is that true? The btc equivalent is just the current price of sexcoin times that number.
That would give you a ballpark btc estimate, but keep in mind coin prices can change dramatically, up or down, between the time they are mined and when they actually hit the exchange to be sold. Still, it would give you a rough estimate of the btc value.

Guys I have a chance to buy a few rx470 8gb cards for just under $200 but I just found out that the new rx500 cards should be here next month.

Want to get some feedback from you guys on what you would do? Would you buy the 470s or wait for the new rx500 cards to check the speed?

Thanks

There is always going to be something new coming out.. the big thing, regardless of what the 500's may or may not do. when they are released the 400's will have a price drop.

Of course there will always be something new, I am just talking about the bandwidth that claymore was talking about....I think these new cards have double the bandwidth which could mean double the speed.

Just wanted to see if anyone had an opinion on this?
The rx5xx cards will not have double the speed. They are a rebranding of the rx4xx cards with trivial improvements using the same Polaris chips. The cards that are likely to have large speed improvements are the Vega cards, which is a totally different chip/architecture. BUT the Vega cards are unlikely to even be usable for mining for days/weeks since mining software will have to be developed for them.

Why i have the same hashrate for ethereum in single mining mode and dual mining mode Huh Please help me (i have 7990 and two 7950 and the overall hashrate is about 50mh/s in mode 1 and in mode 0)

Are You complaining or what? If You really want to slow down with ETH speed try mining LBRY as second coin. Or increase -dcri to insane high values like 80 or 90.

No i just figured i had done something wrong since when you donŽt mine a second coin, the hashrate should go up instead of staying the same? IŽll try -dcri. thanks for the tip
Not really. Claymore's miners are coded to mine a second coin that doesn't slow down the first coin. Each algo put certain demands on your vid card while leaving some of the cards resources unused. Claymore figured out how to implement dual mining so that the second coin is using the unused resources.......so your ETH speed isn't adversely affected.

When start mining with an additional rig how do I specify a worker name?

By using -eworker parameter?
-ewal eth wallet address/user.worker/youremail@yahoo.com

Example: -ewal 0xb1205673c6c573a92d811169d22684915332b2a5/PC.gpu/onesurveryguy@yahoo.com The email is if you want to be emailed if your rig goes down. Dwarfpool only uses the PC part of the name given in this example, while others might use the user.worker format.

Let me try to understand gamecredits is .02397 and verge scrypt is .00122

I get it. Verge Scrypt is paying 20 times less. I also understand miningpoolhub will switch when they found a coin.

But why would it switch to verge-scrypt in the first place?

Were verge-scrypt worth 20 times more at the time of switching?

Why such large fluctuation?

I also see that BTC/GH/Day is different in miningpoolhub.com than in

http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency/?sha256hr=1.00&sha256p=2600.00&sha256pc=0.1000&sha256c=true&scrypthr=1000000.00&scryptp=1000.00&scryptpc=0.1000&scryptc=true&x11hr=1000.00&x11p=120.00&x11pc=0.1000&x11c=true&keccakhr=1000.00&keccakp=600.00&keccakpc=0.1000&keccakc=true&quarkhr=1000000.00&quarkp=75.00&quarkpc=0.1000&quarkc=true&groestlhr=1000.00&groestlp=825.00&groestlpc=0.1000&groestlc=true&blake256hr=1.00&blake256p=600.00&blake256pc=0.1000&blake256c=true&neoscrypthr=1000000.00&neoscryptp=400.00&neoscryptpc=0.1000&neoscryptc=true&lyra2rev2hr=1000.00&lyra2rev2p=600.00&lyra2rev2pc=0.1000&lyra2rev2c=true&cryptonighthr=1000000000.00&cryptonightp=600.00&cryptonightpc=0.1000&cryptonightc=true&ethashhr=1000.00&ethashp=600.00&ethashpc=0.1000&ethashc=true&equihashhr=1000000000.00&equihashp=600.00&equihashpc=0.1000&equihashc=true&e=CEX.io

Why?

Is the price listed in miningpoolhub take into account fluctuation in miningpoolhub luck?

So if you just found a coin or a block you listed high number?

That means you're vulnerable of poolhoping. Not that I care. I just see numbers I buy. But how safe it is?

It seems that the price for verge scrypt is fluctuating wildly. Now it is indeed the highest paying coin. But why does it fluctuate wildly? I mean in exchange the price is constant and very little.

It seems that it is a normally worthless coin that somehow looks like it worths a lot once in a while hashwise.
Verge diff can fluctuate WILDLY, which changes it's profitability. When that happens the pool switches over to Verge and miners are stuck there until the pool finds a block. Not ideal, but kinda hard to avoid. Much larger pools see the Verge diff drop and start mining which quickly raises the diff and they leave the coin.

So what's better? 470, 480, or 480 8GB? I've been checking around and can't find a definitive answer on this one.

For the ETH, there is little difference between the 470 and 480. However, the RX 480 has faster memory.

Not what I heard when it comes to duel mining.

So what's better? 470, 480, or 480 8GB? I've been checking around and can't find a definitive answer on this one.
480 8GB for me.  Sold all 470. There is big difference. And AMD is stopping production of 4xx...

As far as AMD stopping production of the 4XX series, source for that? That seems highly unlikely considering they haven't introduced the high end model, which is Vega. They'll produce them the same way they produced the 3XX series and Fury. They use a word name for the high end parts and just normal numbers for the mid and lower end parts.

Anyone have any actual comparable numbers or something they can point me towards for benchmark numbers? CMB doesn't usually benchmark duel mining for some reason.
From what I understand AMD is doing a rebrand of the 4xx cards to be 5xx with negligible performance increases, similar to what they have done many times in the past.(280 to 380, 290 to 390 etc. ) The high end Vega 11 cards should be available in May, with the Vega 10 landing late this year.

Any idea on how to fix this keeps on happening on 480 cards

WATCHDOG: GPU 1 hangs in OpenCL call, exit
WATCHDOG: GPU 1 hangs in OpenCL call, exit
Restarting OK, exit... crashes and have to restart system as claymore wont exit or close

This happened when I was dual mining. I ended up having to restore the BIOS on a couple of cards back to the original. They couldn't handle the extra stress from dual mining with the modified BIOS.

Have had this happen alot.  The best fix is to simply increase the voltage on the GPU by 10 mV at a time until it stops.  If you are confident you drivers are good, and it only happens on one card out of a set, it means you are undervolted for the application.  Not all cards are equal, and I have had a number of new cards struggle with this and I have had a number of 480s with this problem, and I can get rid of the OpenCl every time with a simple increase in the power.
crazyearner do you have a reboot.bat in the Claymore folder? Inside the .bat should be:
Code:
shutdown /r /t 5 /f

so if you did not change anything, why do you think the miner that was working so long is the guilty one here ?
what do you mean under guilty one? All I wanted to say that nothing was changed on most rigs which were working almost perfectly and now 30% are getting low hashrate and opencl errors
Have you considered ambient temp changes as well as epoch advances?
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v7.4 (Windows/Linux) on: February 05, 2017, 12:36:38 AM
Hello everyone... a couple of days ago, I turned back on the DCR mining in 7.4 due to the recent rise in price of DCR. The first couple days went fine, actually getting more DCR than the calculators say. But yesterday, I tried to update my payout info on Suprnova (amount threshold of 1 DCR & my DCR wallet address on Bittrex).  However, after submitting the request, it kicked me back to the login screen and since then my account has been locked for some reason and I can't login.  The message on Suprnova says to follow instructions in an email sent to my acct but of course, the email never arrived (yes, i did check my spam folder).  I then sent a message through their site (about 24 hours ago now) and then another one about 4 hours ago, neither of which they have responded to. I even posted over on the Decred forum as a few others had this same issue and a forum member fixed it for them... but no response there yet either.

So, my question is, have any of you that use Suprnova to mine DCR experienced this issue and if so, how was it resolved?  There seems to be a major issue with their both the functionality of their site and their customer service, which really makes me want to jump to another DCR pool.  The mining itself APPEARS to be going fine but of course, I have no way to check on the actual results until I can login again on Suprnova.

I would be happy to hear any recommendations on what to do, including other good DCR pools for US-based miners.
Have you tried sending ocminer a PM here on the forum?
