I'm new here, but I agree that alt coins should have their own forum. Someone should jump on it! I come here to talk and deal with BTC. I don't like seeing posts about every other coin that's created (I think an exception should be made for LTC, though). I have other sources of info for individual coins. This forum being one for BTC!

My noob perspective.

I thought by now I would see a few Bitcoin millionaires living large on youtube, but I'm seeing a lack of videos. Where are they?

A lot of people kicked the can down the road, picking up a few hundred bitcoins in the process...mining wasn't something a lot of people stuck with for long periods back then...remember, when Bitcoin was a year and a half old, mining was easy with a CPU and bitcoins were essentially worthless.  I've met a few guys in that general scenario and they're busy with their already busy lives...just a few hundred kilo bucks richer--not enough to last a lifetime of living large!

I would expect at the current price having even a couple thousand BTC would be a life altering amount. It might not allow someone to quit their job forever, but that's a significant boost for a nice change. I'd like to see more stories like that.

Most jobs will fit into one of those categories. Content Kung Fu qualifies as a service, so I troll that area from time to time.

I've been thinking this same thing. There should be some of you here who have been around to have gathered up thousands in the early days!

Does posting addresses in threads like these ever work? I love it.

Usually it works if there is an ongoing promotion, which is no longer the case in this thread.

Good to know. I'll keep an eye out for that!

Outstanding story! You've set an example I think many can follow.

There's both a Goods and Services forums, depending on the type of job you're looking for. Here you go:

Goods - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=51.0

Services - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0

I'll make something for the business that'll be accepting it. What else should it include? Here's what I have so far:

(these are section headings)

What is Bitcoin?

Why we accept BTC.

How to pay with BTC.

What else should someone who might be interested at the 'using it to complete a transaction' level?

My businesses have clients from all over the world. Handling payments in multiple currencies and dealing with outrageous international transfer fees is expensive. While I don't expect most people to pay with BTC/LTC, I do hope some of my clients will enjoy the ease of being able to do just that.

Oh snap, my first post!

I'm an entrepreneur and recently discovered BTC. I love it oh so much.

Some of my businesses are unable to accept it, however, one of them is perfect for it. I plan on accepting BTC as payment for content marketing services at ContentKungFu.com. I plan on rolling this out this week and pushing my existing clients to start paying in BTC.

I'm also starting to brainstorm other 'mainstream' business models that could benefit from accepting BTC.

I suppose my point is that it's not only about asking existing companies to accept BTC, but to create companies that do.

It's an exciting time to get involved with BTC and some of the alt coins (LTC and PPC seem promising).
