Dopecoin does not need Poloniex.
Poloniex is shady as fuck and they have that scam known as Potcoin.
Dopecoin should stay on Bittrex.
No need for Trolloniex.

I have to disagree with you. With additional exchanges, Dope coin gains additional exposure and thus growth. EVERYONE is moving there funds to Bittrex. Let's try not to be edgy, nothing against the plant but if you want to be taken seriously then you need to conform a little and be professional. Think outside of the "hotbox" and about those customers who would rather not be judged by using a currency named Dopecoin.
It did wonders for DarknetCoin when it was rebranded to PIVx.
So nowhere did I post did I say I didn't know the definition of what "DOPE" has meant in the past. Can you at least answer my question for once ? But you sure put up one that fits your definition of your opinion, completely ignoring the actual definition I provided. You want this project to be taken seriously then rebranding will be the only way. Otherwise it'll stay as a gimmick. So you won't answer the question sounds like a plan. I think it's a little unfair to malign an entire industry because of one scam but can sympathize about being gun shy after being burnt by a scam. What I like about this project is that it will help onboard new people into the crypto ecosystem through a rapidly growing market. Haha ..good to see nobody is letting their coins go cheap on Bittrex. Only 2btc to 250. If I had any btc I'd be snapping them up. So undervalued considering the total coin supply.

skyline and Danny, YES! definitely keep your eyes on this one. We support dopecoin 100% completely, and hope to have legit crypto currency for the cannabis community. Our medicine is becoming legal, but the banks still have their hands in it. Let's stop that.

The name of the coin will remain DopeCoin.
I realize that this sometimes rubs new people the wrong way but the reality is that we have been around for a long time and we have been through a lot. Rebranding the coin as something different would cause a lot of confusion and would make little sense as it would be better to just make a new coin...
Our dispensary partners love the coin and have no issues with the name. We are currently working on payment API integrations and educational videos as we work to bring new shop owners and users to the project.
Should be an interesting month, I will keep you updated with any new developments as they are taking place and completed.
Problem is dope was never really meant towards marijuana, it has a longer history use with smoking the poppi and it is more related to heroin or meth use. You hardly hear somebody say "let's smoke a dope joint", instead you might hear "let's shoot up some dope" meaning heroin or "smoke dope" meaning meth. Really think about it, not just "dope is legacy, never going to change it". With all the creatives in here, I'm surprised no one has come up with something more creative and proper. So why do people make movies about DOPE ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ait4q9HYRMw ) and Magazine's dope ( http://www.dopemagazine.com/) . Those two things have nothing to do with heroin and meth use ? Any explanation why people with millions of dollars would use the word 'dope' and 'weed' together if it has nothing to do with weed ? |

Dopecoin as a name is good for me ...I have always smoked dope as do most of the people I come into contact with and have never heard it used to reference opiates outside of films. In the future you should consider rebranding and even getting a professional marketing team.
Rebranding by a professional team on the subject can bring a lot of attention to Dopecoin.
The current name while ok for crypto world, it won't be too good for mainstream audiences
yup... dope is slang for too much bad shit.... even 'potcoin' is more socially acceptable than 'dope' coin.... i know its the dev's baby but in my opinion, the name will be the major barrier to mass adoption.... The word 'pot' is not used as much as the word 'dope' in slang. Go to any MJ social media site like MassRoots all you hear is , "that is DOPE! " so you are saying they are referring to Heroin ?. So that isn't correct. Pot is not something disp. really care to use as a term, in fact, they stay away from it. As mentioned for 100th time 'DOPE' doesn't mean 'heroin' as everyone is making it out to be . Dope is also slang for "cool". There is a whole magazine called Dope and guess what ?? it's all ABOUT WEED! . I'd rather we be different then the typical 'weed' names out there tbh. Makes you remember it and yes, talk about it! |
