Theoretically, yes. The difficulty of getting fiat online is digitizing it. If you secure it by not letting users print it at will, but instead at a either known rate or entirely pre-mined, then it is secure, but it's value fluctuates with market demand. If you have genuine fiat and it can be printed at will by somebody, then you can't trust the value of it.
The only solution is indeed something like mint chip-- a directly government/bank controlled digital fiat that is made by government/bank, thus minting doesn't matter because it's government/bank BACKED. Thus it's value is locked (as much as inflationary fiat can be). It doesn't make for a great alternative currency in its OWN right, but it DOES make for a FANTASTIC transition intermediary to get fiat digitized, so that it can then be traded and exchanged into bitcoin.
There was a thread somewhere around here proposing dUSD, or digital USD, an alt chain pegged to USD. The problem is, the only way to peg a digital alt-chain to a currency is to have a large entity that buys and sells on par with the currency, one which is large enough to be bigger than any reasonable market, thus negating market forces from trading at prices that aren't on par with its physical counterpart. Unfortunately, there's really only one entity with such power to do this: governments.
But that's a GOOD thing. We should ENCOURAGE governments to create digital currencies pegged to fiat, because once it's digital it can go anywhere, like into bitcoin. So buying and selling become MUCH easier with government backed digital currencies.

Nice to see the hashrate heading back up.
I had an idea. If the difficulty was "compressed' I bet it would attract more people.
Other coins that have similar hashrates have "higher" looking difficulties of 15, etc. I think the low numbers next to the hashrate is psychologically discriminating to new miners as they are used to other coins with "higher" difficulties/shorter gaps between each diff. They see 2 or whatever and think, damn this coin must be dead! Meanwhile the coin they just jumped from had the same total hashrate.
Something to think about. "Just tack a zero on the end" Hahaha

There really isn't a price yet, it's not on any exchanges. Just 2 very very very small volume beta exchanges. So the price isn't an accurate representation whatsoever. Currently the price on them is 1500 satoshi, it swings between 3000 and 1500 lately. We have to get on an actual exchange to get an actual value. Right now the market is heavily manipulated. You can use a small amount of BTC to set up walls wherever you please and sell back and forth to yourself, drive the price up or down, etc etc. Coinmarket especially has been hit by shady trading. please don't spread FUD. you like coino, we got that. this coin have nothing to do with coino. the false positive is due p2p protocol, very common in coins. the windows wallet link is on google drive, and google says: Virus scanning: Google Drive scans a file for viruses before the file is downloaded or shared. If a virus is detected, users can't share the file with others, send the infected file via email, or convert it to a Google Doc, Sheet, or Slide, and they'll receive a warning if they attempt these operations. So yes I would say it is a pump and dump or a get rich quick scheme. Don't expect much from the devs, anyone.
