141  Economy / Exchanges / Re: hitBTC.com - super fast and stable BTC/LTC/USD/EUR exchange on: May 11, 2014, 09:41:53 AM
hello hitbtc again,

apart from the withdrawal issue mentioned above I would very much appreciate if there was an option to download the trading history in some convinient format (csv, excel, pdf-if it has to be). This would greatly help in doing my tax reports.
because for manually typing all the trades into a spreadsheet my time is too valuable Wink

edit:
also yubi key login would be great.
142  Economy / Exchanges / Re: hitBTC.com - super fast and stable BTC/LTC/USD/EUR exchange on: May 10, 2014, 04:01:24 PM
hi hitbtc,

how do I withdraw euro from my hitbtc account?

When entering an amount to withdraw via sepa I get a "amount is to big" pop-up, although it is smaller than what is in my main account and within the limits of my verified account.

I think you should als check out the "martingale" system so you can beat the casino at roulette Wink
FYI, in theory you can. You just need endless money and enough time, and you would be the winner. That's why casinos work with table limits.
Grin

great plan if you want to get rich and need endless money to start with Wink

itīs a bit like the arbitrage "investement" advertised here on the forum.
you can make a small fortune from that.

if you start with a big one.

145  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin arbitrage, quite profitable BTC investment, make 1-3% ROI per day on: May 09, 2014, 08:49:42 AM
Herr Andreas, dude, guess you need to know the market a bit more in order to stop thinking like a 5 year old child. Let me repeat statistics again, on a good day, total BTC trading volume is between 300.000 and 450.000 BTC. This is close to $20 MILLION at current prices. In addition to this you have LTC trade, alts to alts trade, alts to fiat trade, etc so total crypto trading volume probably gets closer to $40 MILLION per day on a good day. Trading arbitrage opportunities here are huge inside BTC economy, how big do you think this service is in order to saturate the market?

What I do agree is that in the following months, arbitrage opportunities are going to decrease as more people play this game and markets imperfections get corrected and this is exactly what is going on. However, ATM, there is still lots of space to do arbitrage, I have been doing that personally quite often using alts to alts method. However, I have liquidity issues, NOT ENOUGH alt coins to trade daily. I would really like if someone would give me 1000 BTC to trade.

Really no time or patience to argue with you over and over again, you do not like it, fine, go put your money in a bank. The risk has always been proportional to gains.

If sound logic is too childish for you, well there is little I can or want to do about it, but the math of someone not doing arbitrage but investing in someone else doing (or at least claiming to do) arbitrage who pays (advertisers like yourself) for new recruits simply does only add up to a fraudulent pyramid scheme.

I think you should als check out the "martingale" system so you can beat the casino at roulette Wink
for you and all the people who actually fall for the scam you make profits from advertising some google suggestions:

pireat40 (aka Trenton Shavers), rival and non-rival goods, multi level marketing, gamblers ruin, and last but not least (if you are US based) "Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program".

My quest to rid the world of this stupidity is now over for the time being.

147  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin arbitrage, quite profitable BTC investment, make 1-3% ROI per day on: May 09, 2014, 07:20:58 AM
this entire arbitrage as investement system is a scam.
and I can prove it with simple logic.

now the proof:

arbitrage oportunities are limited.
the less volume is put into arbitrage trading, the greater the rewards for those who do.

it is like a pirate-treasure island. selling people more maps where the treasure is hidden, does not increase the amount of gold buried there.
on the contrary. even if all the people who bought maps share the gold equally (lol) it gets less for each the more people are participating.

advertising an investement into an arbitrage system is not only ridiculous but also extremly toxic to your own investement in the same system.
the only way you can make profit that way, is a multi-level-marketing system also known as pyramid game and sometimes also called a ponzi scheme.

short: either it works (and you are happy and silent with your profits) or you have to betray people and part them from their money.

now please stop.

Once more and for the last time, ARBITRAGE system is real and it exists in a lot of other markets. If it can exist in oil or gas markets, much more regulated markets, I do not see why it would exists in unregulated and imperfect BTC market. Here is an example of the real stuff:

http://turnkeyanalyst.com/2012/03/05/how-to-arbitrage-the-oilnatural-gas-btu-spread/

Whether these actual guys do arbitrage or not, I do not know and I cannot be sure. All I do is share my personal experience clearly listing potential risk of this investment.

dude, please read what you quote in your reply.
I never said arbitrage is not a valid trading type.
On the very contrary.
It is a very vital function for determination of price of a comodity.
All I said is:

You are advertising a scam!

(pure logical reasons are laid out in the post you quoted).

super short (just for you):

ROI getīs less, the more volume you use.
If you advertise successfully you kill your own ROI.*

*...unless you are actually not profiting frtom arbitrage, but from a multi level marketing scheme (which is btw illegal in most countries).

149  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitstamp TX Fee Exploit - Charge 1.16% instead of 0.2% without your consent on: May 08, 2014, 07:55:59 PM
Writing here to voice my support for the '$5 trade minimum' fix.

On the plus side: fees can be expected to be near the advertised fee percentage from now on.

Also on the plus side: Bitstamp reacted fast to customer complaints and implemented a fix.

Also also on the plus side: Automated high frequency/low volume traders will hate it.

On the negative side, it seems to bring out the trolls. Oh well, can't have everything.

tl;dr To some it might look like a hack, but it's a solid hack, so no complaints from me.

150  Economy / Trading Discussion / Orders Order? trader question. on: May 08, 2014, 07:29:26 PM
I have a simple question to the experienced traders here:

is there a general rule across the exchanges as of the order in which orders at the same price are are executed when they are matched?

I noticed that when I placed a buy order on bitstamp it was the best one. Then more orders where placed at the same price. When the price was met by sellers my order was executed last. So it obviously is not relevant placing an order first (at least at stamp).

151  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin arbitrage, pros and cons, experience and profitability on: May 08, 2014, 06:50:23 PM
"1% a day"
for any investment  Grin

if that promise alone does not ring all (really all) alarm bells in your head, you are on the road to get fucked over pretty hard.

152  Economy / Exchanges / Re: hitBTC.com - super fast and stable BTC/LTC/USD/EUR exchange on: April 25, 2014, 12:48:56 PM
For KYC it is required:

"A letter from the bank branch where you have opened the account which confirms that you are the owner of the account (including a reference to your passport number or any other form of acceptable photo identification). The letter should indicate the name of your bank, the address of your branch, the date, the name of the teller who drafted the letter, and the telephone address where this teller can be reached. A sample letter is provided here. https://hitbtc.com/sample_letter.pdf"

Are you serious? Sorry the site looks great so far, but I never encoutered this before! All the other money transmitters ask for ID and proof of residence and a bank statement!  This is really unique. Could you explain this!
itīs not entirely unique. at least it wasnīt.
I went through that procedure to verify at gox...

but be reminded that this is not per se an indicator of fishiness. It could also point the other way and you are asked for verification before you deposit and not about one week after you hit some secret limits like at stamp.
153  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 25, 2014, 12:45:01 PM
So here is your last chance to get coins for <500.00

You will never see bitcoin prices much lower than this again. It might go slightly lower and may even retest the last low at around 350.00 but this is buy zone if you haven't already. You can quote me on this and thank me later when we are at 10,000 plus in a few short months. China is only an excuse and mars can easily be reached without her.  Don't believe the hype.

Where have I heard that before? Oh wait, $600.
I heard it at $800 and even $1000

Let me rephrase that: when's the last time I heard that.  Wink
520 Wink
154  Economy / Exchanges / Re: hitBTC.com - super fast and stable BTC/LTC/USD/EUR exchange on: April 23, 2014, 05:38:53 PM
I am not gotmilk, but I do have some questions which I would very much like you to answer.

1. What is the street adress of your companies hq?
2. please referr to an official document of your companies registration.
3. what is the name of the ceo?
4. are you audited by a third party? and if what is their name?

I would seriously consider trading at a volume of about EUR 5-10k per week on your platform, if you would please share the requested information.

Dear HerrAndreas,

Could you please specify whether you already are our customer? Are you already using our basic limits 2 000 EUR/USD per day and 10 000 EUR/USD per month? If not, we would like to ask you to try our platform and decide whether you are comfortable with the interface and perhaps give us your feedback.

Generally speaking, we have three standard limits:
2K EUR/USD daily \ 10K EUR/USD monthly
10K EUR/USD daily \ 50K EUR/USD monthly
50K EUR/USD daily \ 250K EUR/USD monthly.
We use the standard compliance procedure in order to assign a new status by asking you to provide an information about you as well as we provide you an information about us, and, of course, we confirm our reliability by our excellent work.

For transactions exceeding 1M per month we have an individual customer service - we not only provide all the necessary information but also meet face-to-face to establish a successful joint business. After signing NDA with the parties involved we disclose them an information on audits, licensing and management.

Our HQ is located in Copenhagen, Denmark and our R&D office is in Tallinn, Estonia. Our postal address will be published on May 1st.

You can also meet our representative during the Bitcoin Conference (bitcoin2014.com) on May 15 in Amsterdam.

Thank you for choosing our service,
The "hitbtc" team

Thank you for your reply.

I will then try your platform for test trades and once you are ready to disclose the information above move to higher volumes.
The very basic company info on street adress, name of CEO and country of registration (/jurisdiction) has to be publicly available in the "about us" section if you want to be trusted with (my) money. I must admit, that I feel a bit strange having to ask for this.

Regarding the disclosure of 3rd party audits I would very much appreciate you to follow the examples of bitstamp and their publication of the 3rd parties (firestartr.co) audit (https://www.bitstamp.net/s/documents/Firestartr_DD_Letter_for_Bitstamp.pdf) or the kraken.com approach (https://www.kraken.com/security/audit) or set a new standard for proof og trustworthiness yourself.

additional questions:

As I will not be able to meet your representative (name?) at the bitcoin2014.com conference, you will be my sole source of information for the time being.

general:
Why are you not publishing any names at all, while referring to the outstanding expertise and qualification of your team?
from your website:
Quote
Our team is composed of specialists with tremendous experience in their fields and graduates from some of the top schools in the world including MIT, Harvard, McGill and Bordeaux.

practical:
As you have your bank accounts inside the EU, does this mean that you donīt charge deposit fees for sepa deposits denominated in EUR as the banks donīt charge any fees on these transactions?

all the best from vienna,

HerrAndreas.

So... I like the interface and everything else... but.
On their page is written they are based in Estonia, but users here are saying Panama... which is now (I would prefer Estonia  Smiley )?
You are new and you have a nice volume there... not sure how is this possible.

Dear gotmilk_,

Thank you for your positive review!
Our Development & Support office is located in Tallinn (Estonia, Northern Europe).

Regarding the information about the bank, we use SEB services for our banking.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions regarding our services.

Thank you for choosing our service,
The "hitbtc" team

156  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitstamp Warning on: April 13, 2014, 09:29:47 PM
After I sent them the answers, they asked me for a copy of a bank statement and my tax return for the last year. I refused to give them a copy of my tax return but sent them a copy of my bank statement censoring the transactions that were unrelated to Bitstamp. Within 20 mins of sending this, I got a message saying that the 'additional KYC procedure' was completed.

I am happy that my deposit will finally be processed but it was a big hassle overall and I have been put off from using them in the future.

same here.
after some back and forth support-ticketing a passport scan and a censored bank statement was all it needed.
I see no problem with those questions. Itīs only the timing. These questions donīt pop up when you register or validate your account. They come up when you deposit or withdraw fiat hitting some limit and this is something you donīt see coming and something which can put you in an uncomfortable situation when you where counting on being able to use that cash.

My suggestion to them would be, to make the limits public so people know when to expect a delay in trading possibility of about a week.
157  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitstamp - wanted to withdraw money and was hit with these weird KYC questions on: April 09, 2014, 04:26:37 PM
still happening.

got some k euro fiat frozen on the way in.
not happy.
158  Economy / Exchanges / Re: bitstamp - KYC insanity on: April 09, 2014, 04:16:17 PM
I am in the same situation over here.

Answered all their questions and sent hi-res passport scan, just to have them asking me for proof of the origin of the funds transferred there.
How should I do that?
I sent them my last bank statement and really hope this will do the job, so I can get back to business.

But I am seriously pissed off at them for not saying anything before hand, but to wait until they sit on most of my trading funds and hold them ransom.

I truelly feel GRRRRR!

159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: getting my head around ripple - please correct me. on: March 31, 2014, 03:38:55 PM
concerning "ease at trading", do you trade on the ripple network (then presumably with personally established contacts) or have you found a way to transfer between relevant and working exchanges?

Or is there a way to use the ripple system I have overlooked?
160  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Track down and confront Mark Karpele's wife and kid to get some answers on: March 31, 2014, 12:52:15 PM
dear op,
anyone who goes after the family of someone he had business with is nothing short of a criminal.
dont go there or you will face a very high risk of being treated as such.

I am not mentioning any ethical arguments against that idea, because if  those values would be something you could see in your hunger for revenge, you wouldnīt have posted this idea of hunting (or "confronting" as you put it) someones kids and wife.
