141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sapphire RX 470 8GB Micron E388 BIOS on: March 20, 2021, 06:21:35 PM
If you are using a RX 470/480 and 570 GPU with a modded Bios in Windows, you need to use the pixel patcher or you will see a code 43 error for the GPU in the Windows Device Manager.

https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-AMD-ATI-Pixel-Clock-Patcher

More info here: https://mining.help

I have good results on RX XXX GPU's using the PBE v1.62 'one click timing patch' Bios mod. It automatically detects each memory type and adjusts the 1750 MHz and up straps with the bundled performance straps. PBE 1.6.1 adjusts from the 2000 MHz and up straps. PBE v1.6.3 and up adjusts the straps from 1500 MHz and up, but the 1750 MHz straps are more stable. You should only use the PBE 'one click timing patch' Bios mod with the original Bios from the card.

PBE is no longer maintained, but the forum member Matthev has developed a similar program and can help you with a Bios mod for your card.

Yes increasing the page file will work if you are mining ETH. If you are trying to mine Cuckatoo it's a very VRAM intensive algorithm. On Windows 10, you can't with 8GB or less VRAM GPU's because Windows 10 allocates too much VRAM for each GPU. You can mine Cuckatoo31 with 8GB GPU's on Windows 7 or Linux.
143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Does everyone receives the Block Reward ? on: March 20, 2021, 05:54:28 AM
You get the full block reward when you solve a block solo mining. When mining on a traditional pool, they distribute the block reward from the block found to all the miners that submitted shares for that block, proportional to the shares they submitted to the pool. However with solo mining there is no guarantee when or if you will find a block to receive a payout. The estimated time given by the calculator is just an average of how long it should take you to find a block if you mined 24/7/365 at the given  hashrate and current network difficulty. It's dependent on luck, so it could take much longer or much less time.

If you want to solo mine ETH, you're better off using a pool like ethpool, where you accumulate credits towards receiving a full block payout once you reach the top of the list, which will take over a year with only 144 MH/s. ETH will probably move to POS by then so if you want to mine ETH, stick to a pool.

Good question, a 1200 watts is enough for all the 5 graphic cards and also if you want to buy risers it's best to buy #009 risers, they are available on Amazon I believe, there are others like 007,006 but the 009 is far more stronger and reliable, all the best

you mean this ??
https://www.amazon.ae/Riser-Risers-to16x-Cable-Supply/dp/B08NTLGCVH/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=%23009+risers&qid=1614200277&sr=8-1

10$ each ??...
If you're not in a rush, the best place to buy risers is from TISHRIC factory store on Aliexpress. They usually arrive in a couple weeks to the US.

145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Miner is not Hashing | Started after 1 and half Year | Please Help! on: March 14, 2021, 05:29:32 PM
Since you already paid for Ethos why not keep that buck....your cards are not new enough to be a problem.

For one thing, the latest ethOS build is based on Ubuntu 14 which has reached End of Life and hasn't received any security or maintenance updates since 2019. You would be better off setting up your own Linux distro from scratch. For the small price you pay, SMOS and other current mining distro options make it easy to securely manage your rigs remotely which saves time and increases productivity.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Miner is not Hashing | Started after 1 and half Year | Please Help! on: March 14, 2021, 03:18:41 PM
ethOS hasn't been updated in over 2 years. It doesn't have support for the latest miners, drivers or cards. I would switch to SMOS or HiveOS. Also the ETH DAG size has exceeded 4GB, so 4GB GPU's are no longer supported. There are some miner work around, like with lolminer.

So I need to switch to a different OS ?

Any guide you can help me with ?

(Not a techy guy, read and perform).
You may be able to cobble ethOS together to get it to run, but why take the time when there are better and current options. SMOS is the simplest option as it is all setup through a web interface and has an extensive startup, knowledge base and support. It has a 30 day free trial for new users and costs nothing upfront.

https://simplemining.net

HiveOS is another similar option.

https://hiveos.farm

You could also build your rig from scratch on Windows or Linux.

148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Apart from mining on: March 14, 2021, 12:03:12 PM
There are several different block reward structures utilized by different Cryptocurrencies.

-Proof Of Work (Mining): A block reward is paid to the miner that mines, or adds a new block to the blockchain by generating a valid hash to confirm transactions. Payouts are proportional to the work done on the network to the other miners (difficulty). It requires an upfront investment in hardware, time to setup and maintain and ongoing expenses to run. The most notable example of this block reward model is BTC.

-Proof Of Stake (Staking): A block reward is paid to stake holders that confirm transactions and add new blocks to the blockchain by holding coins in their wallet and running a full node. Payouts are proportional to the amount of coins on stake. This is the model ETH is moving towards.

-Masternode: A node that operates as a governing and managing role for the network. It usually requires to hold a large number of coins in escrow. Payouts are distributed equitably across all masternodes operating on the network. The most notable example of this block reward model is DASH. Another example is ZEN that utilizes a Secure node and Super node model.

149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GTX 1080 ETH Hashrate on: March 13, 2021, 10:09:34 PM
You don't need the ETHPILL anymore with PhoenixMiner v5.5c. Using -straps 2 in the config does the same thing. I get ~36 MH/s with a MSI GTX 1080 on Windows 10 20H2 Nvidia GeForce 461.72 Driver. Also try increasing the -vmr setting to see if it increases your hash rate.

150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hey Ethereum - reduce your DAG file size!!! on: March 10, 2021, 05:44:00 PM
The increase in DAG file size is predictable and it was known well in advance when it would exceed 4GB. If you expected to continue mining ETH, you should have sold and upgraded your 4GB cards instead of expecting the developers to bail you out.
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Newbie here, got some questions on nicehash and direct mining on: March 08, 2021, 03:14:40 PM
Mining strategy is dependent on your individual personal goals. If you are just looking to take profit immediately, then just focus on whatever coin is most profitable at the moment for your rig. A good place to determine that is:

https://whattomine.com

If you a looking to speculate, then mining a coin with a low difficulty, where you can accumulate lots of units is one strategy. Another is to mine whatever is most profitable and then convert it into whatever coin you want to speculate on. NH uses this strategy and pays out in BTC, so it's a roundabout way of accumulating small amounts of BTC by mining, since BTC is no longer minable by GPU's.
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Phoenix miner is compromised on: March 07, 2021, 08:15:42 PM
The NiceHash announcement does not say that. They are simply speculating the DEV has some ulterior motives, with nothing offered to base it on other than they don't like that the DEV is anonymous and they believe the archive hash was changed. Yet, this web archive of the page from February 2nd, 2021 shows the checksums are the same as the ones listed by the DEV in the current page. Without any further proof, it seems like a disinformation campaign to cause distrust. And wouldn't you know it, they just happen to recommend their miner as a replacement!

Mega blocked all phoenix downloads, could someone reupload the original zipped 5.5c version for windows somewhere (going to crc check anyway) Thanks !! 🙌

+1 Since all other links can't be trusted, I'm waiting for a message of the original author. I'll send him a message.

This is last 5.5c version downloaded few days before MEGA-removing...
If anyone wants to upload it to any other site, let me know. I have account only at WebShare Smiley

DO NOT trust this file! Or any other file that doesn't match the SHASUM of the original archive hash listed in the OP.

answer please! I have 1080 ti and 1070. The drivers are the newest. PhoenixMiner 5.5c. mining ether
on phoenix I have:
1080 ti - 15 mh / s
1070 - 17 mh / s

on gminer I have:
1080 ti - 36 mh / s
1070 - 28 mh / s

The overclocking is the same, the temperatures are the same. Why is phoenix showing so little?

ETH Only I get ~28 MH/s 1070, ~36 MH/s 1080 and ~45 MH/s 1080 Ti.

Use HWiNFO to check for memory errors. As long as it's stable and not showing tons of memory errors, 2200 MHz memory is fine. Overclocking too much will cause hardware errors, which will cause the miner to report more valid shares than you are actually getting credit for. Check out this guide for more overclocking tips.
