Coinbase is, far and away, the place to send anyone new to this game. Coinbase has got 25m in VC money from Andreesen Horowitz (THE biggest name in High Tech Venture Capital), sits in the heart of Silicon Valley/Bay Area, has over a million users, is integrated with Overstock.com, Mint.com, and others....it's a no brainer as to be the place to send anyone getting into Bitcoin for the first time.

One thing I kept thinking as I peruse the site is that there could be a bit more DNotes promotion. It's obviously the giveaway currency of choice, but is it to much to have the DNotes logo at the bottom of each page, preceded by "sponsored by"

Or something like that? I feel like a more overt understanding of what Crypto is the innovative face behind an innovative site...would be really helpful for new users to understand.

That would be a great listing. It would certainly drive a lot of mining activity since DNotes is so profitable to mine. Way more profitable than potcoin, einsteinium, dogecoin, cinnamoncoin, etc.

Getting our network hash up benefits DNotes, since the larger the network, the more secure the currency, the more sound footing "long term value" can stand on.

Jussst looks to have gotten online again now. Will give it some time before I point my miner back there to give their servers some time to adjust back to the uptime or whatever. I'm on CharityMiningPools at the moment. The large pool provides constant payout, which is nice.

But there is something about mining on a good, small pool like hashrate.eu that is more exciting. A day or two ago, for a spell, I was the only miner on the pool. And we were at a few hundred m/hash as a network. So it was awesome to luck out and find two blocks back to back. 500 NOTE all to myself in a matter of moments. Weeee

Of course, this is countered by the block that took me like 60k shares to solve (almost 700% more than typical), and it took me 4-5 hours. In that case, getting a few NOTE at a constant drip on a big pool is much better.

I just enjoy the gamble of bigger payouts with a large variance in time interval.

I donated a big chunk none too long ago. Ya'll out already? I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, haha. Good as in hopefully it's spreading NOTE to lots of people. Bad as in, perhaps if you are running out so frequently, you should fine tune the payout amounts to make things last longer.

I have always been really into the Cosmos. I used to be just chillin in the back of my Montessori Pre-K school content for hours reading books about space. I got into the practicalities of capitalism during my teenage years, starting my first successful business at 18 and operated that for nearly five years throughout college. Man what a time that was.  Then I went to Oxbridge for a bit, studying Maths and Philosophy. Ho and hummed through my mid 20s, including > a year at a hedge fund as a trader. Was Valedictorian of my Grad program at a top 2 engineering institution after that.

Always business minded, and liked to build shit. But I've never lost that love of the Cosmos. All that was Preamble to my main point. Here's one Learning Experience that makes me qualified to say what I said after reading dozens of your posts ITT....

I decided to take a grad course in Physics, though I'd never formally even taken any course like that during my years in undergrad. I was, and have always been fascinated with the deepest realities of existence. So I got to wondering about some things, and realized the coolest dude on campus to speak to was this guy who was a Nobel Prize winner. We had a similar background, with the Oxbridge thing. So I thought, I'll just email him and we'll chat.

And that's exactly what happened. For one Summer a few years back I got the chance to talk a couple of times, one-on-one, deep, with a Nobel Laureate. The kind of dude who drops anecdotes and kernels of understanding so deep, I'll spend a lifetime thinking about the questions they raise. Knowing that I'm likely not ever to stumble on the answers, because I'm not quite that bright.

You ever done that? Ok then. I stand by my statement. Learn quicker, it can be done.

Pro tip #2...rely on your intuition, after learning to well hone its snap judgements....

tbh, I think this has a lot to with BTC crashing. I've been following the price action quite closely, and the reasons for it. IRS is a small one. The People's Bank of China is promulgating some new policies to enforce a December proclamation more strongly...about banning bitcoins. So there has been a massive dumping of coins on exchanges. And I'm sure quite a few coins have just been turned into alts, as opposed to forcibly sold at huobi, btc china, etc. at a stupid price.

And NOTE is easily one of the top tier alts as far as both potential and bang for the current buck are concerned. With that flight of capital taking place, and most of the NOTE selling from the 750 bonus mining bonanza over....I'm not surprised to see DNotes doing so damn well.

This is exactly it. The future world of transacting between others is egalitarian, decentralized, free. Its power stems from its hearkening forth of the formerly underrepresented, the powerless many, the faceless minority. Women are obtain 60% of the masters degrees in the US, 52% of the PhDs, and will do the lion's share of humanity's Innovation going forward. They are a super great constituent base to be backing any community, and so I have the very best hopes for cryptomoms.com
