We decided to make a preliminary TEST before letting it be downloaded by the whole community!
So those that already downloaded the client please report if you everything is ok!
We tested it with bots, and the results were good! Wondering if it's going cool at your end!

What's New:
1) Removed the bug that interfered with the block sync, at launch!
2) Extracted the block base outside of the client: it downloads and syncs from c:/nxtl folder! (i know we already ditched the nxtl part, but the devs forgot about it, so we will get it removed in the next update)
3) Client loads the blocks and transactions before allowing you to log in!
Ok so lets get down to testing:We'll stop the download for a while, until we get a positive report! Stay Tuned!

So... weekend arrieved but we stilll have not any news about wallet... It's on its way, the devs already configured the transactions, and the block confirmation! If you need to send coins urgently use the online wallet or the old client! Please bear with us, we just need more time! We will make an announcement as soon as we are ready! Windows? Mac? An open source project with no Linux client... is this serious?
Hold you horses! Node is operated on Linux! But we concentrated on Windows thus the majority has it! All Os versions will be released one after another! Just be patient guys! The devs are pushing the limits! |

We are currently busy with some bug annihilation, and we will release the fully functional Windows Client first! After a while we will introduce the Mac version as well! |

It is both. The chain needs fixing because the client needs fixing. Likely the next version will basically contain a hard fork around block 517. Step by step! We are climbing it! will the new client have the accounts last transactions or will it still be the networks? It will have everything synchronized with the blockchain |

im only joking man.. i mean node has huge potential but just needs to get up an running on healthy legs(blockchain working) before it can run for gold in the crypto olympics  thats why i said at this stage.. cos right now node needs fixing. once its fixed, we should be golden!  edit: hang on its the client that needs fixing,, not the blockchain right?? sorry.. my bad.. didnt mean to spread fud or anything.. just got mixed up.. :/ im holding my node long term too so im not worried about the client taking time. I undersand I have the same opinion! And i'm glad that the team is pushing it! I'm pretty sure they will manage this quickly, so we could mark this step with a check symbol! Also in the mean time i see that our group power is pushing it on BTER From position 79 to 29!!! Huge collective contribution! If we join forces, now that we are more vulnerable, i'm sure that node will become big!!! Let the force be with you! (Star wars Style) Just kidding! |

And there is a reason to believe that people will recur to TOR in order to get more votes, as it did happen with the puppet fiasco! I guess we wore naive, to believe that people won't do such kind of moves on a voting platform to just select a slogan! The voting platform is cool, but cheating is not! So we call off the voting! This question was examined by our team and we really liked ifightformerkel's proposal: NODE - Your money, your way We consider this slogan appropriate for the project as it expresses at the same time two of our main directions: the decentralized currency and payment processing! It refers to an individual an has 3 keywords that define the project's vision combined in a context: Your - expresses the belonging and freedom of choice, which leads to democracy and egalitarism! money - which is the attribute of value assigned to an object! Object that can be exchanged in trade for something else with the same value! way - decision that someone can make consciously, and take responsibility of! Like in sending money to a friend! Is this slogan suitable in your opinion?? How do you feel when reading it?? Let me hear what you think of our decision!

We collected all the reported errors. logs and we'll perform some "Bug Annihilation"!
- Due to this reason, we will temporarily disable the download link!
We will make some maintenance and if you notice some glitches - then it is probably us!
So, keep calm and VOTE for NODE on Exchanges !

Time to download!This is the Beta version of the Windows Client! Instructions: 1) Download Client 2) Unzip 3) Launch Node_v_0.1_beta.exe 4) Wait for Client to synchronize with other Nodes! 4) Insert Secret Passphrase 5) Enjoy NodeCoin! Things to remember: 1) This is the first Beta client release Version 0.1 2) Each time you will open the client, it will require Node synchronization (this requirement will disappear in the next update) 3) Errors should be reported to SilkRoad That's about it for now!

I'm not talking about dev's stakes. It's 60 extra stakes they took from puppets and they are going to auction them. So for now it's a madness to pay even 0.4-0.5 btc for a stake because devs will sell 60 stakes in the nearest future. Are you even following the thread, people?
So what I'm saying is devs are holding the whole train because of upcoming auction. It should take place as soon as possible. Otherwise it'll be a mess and many disappoined people who bought someone's stakes or coins on exchanges. Because the auction will kill the price. They should do it before going to any exchange.
I agree! We can't go to an exchange prior to distributing those 60 stakes! But priorities are high on other levels, of course it doesn't mean that the sell-off is not important! I will give it an ETA of a Week! But more info will be disclosed after the Client release! Instead of auction, i would assume to just share those 60 stakes with current holders or "bribe" the owners of coindesk, exchanges etc !
Well bribing seams an efficient way, but i think this is more like short term decision than in the long run! What you think about this? |

We should start writing to Bter as soon as we have the client. They'll most likely add Node to voting and with such huge community it won't be too hard to get on top.
Any news on the auction and its rules? The price won't go up until you're holding 36 million coins for sale. It's a huge amount, 3.6% of the emission. It's like having the biggest initial holder who got his coins for free and sooner or later is going to dump everything with 100% probability.
I guess, someone already wrote them about us! Hmmm... very curious who should take the credit for that About the auction, it will take place in the near future, we have other priorities at hand! It will be preventively announced so that everybody can participate! About the organization, it will be the old fashioned way - on BTT, a special thread will be created where people will post their bids! The highest bid is the winner. |
