Do I need to do KYC again or is it enough to have KGT token (which proves that I passed KYC before).

I want the WTC to be less speculative and more based on adoption/use. So the only thing you can contribute to this, is by supporting news and not rumours.

what are the potential ramifications of a revision higher for the total supply as Charlie mentioned in the interview recently?

I would imagine most electricians do not know anything about Bitcoin. **But** as far as identifying breakers and the load an outlet could take they would be your best bet, I advise this as you seem very new and I would not want you to have any sort of electrical issue that at the least damages your mining equipment or at the worst hurts or kills someone.

I appreciate that. I am indeed very new. I think that I have identified that the breaker is 100A for where it is located. I would find it helpful to learn how much load each outlet could take and I shall seek an electrician to identify the answer. Could you tell me what type of power cable to use and with what fuse should be in it? I've read that a PDU could be used, but I don't know of how many Amps that should be or how many S9's could run off of it, if it were say 30A. Could you enlighten me on the power cable and PDU side of things please?

No to extension cords. I think you should find an electrician before you proceed, this stuff isn't the same as plugging in a TV or computer. Also, be prepared for the noise and heat...

Thanks. I have set one up successfully. It's been mining for about 5 hours on antpool. I have a space dedicated for mining so no need to worry about heat and noise. Is there a good resource online which I can check out to get me acquainted with these types of things that I need to consider? Would any electrician be able to help me out? Does one not need to be acquainted with mining?

Circuit breaker says 100A, so I guess this is good. Is it fine to use an extension cable in a socket if I wish to run more?
149  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: electricity set up for newbie on: March 13, 2018, 12:36:36 AM
thank you I shall try to locate them in the morning. Do you have any advice regarding my question about power cables?
150  Bitcoin / Mining support / electricity set up for newbie on: March 12, 2018, 09:53:12 PM
I'm trying to set up my first ever antminer s9. How can I find out what ampage my sockets supply are? I'm in UK and google says that UK sockets are either 3A or 13A. I don't know how to acquire this information but feel it necessary to learn after reading the following section from the antminer quick install guide.

Quote
The antminer s9 total current is 20A, but most home outlet power sockets supply only 10A. For your safety, if operating the antminer s9 at home, power it via two sockets located on separate power rails. If you are unfamiliar with residential electricitiy wiring, Bitmain recommends not using this miner for home mining.

The latter suggestion is quite unsatisfying. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Furthermore, do I need to look out for anything special when buying a power cable or will something standard like this be adequate? https://www.maplin.co.uk/p/maplin-2m-uk-mains-to-iec-c13-power-cable-n79ef

151  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: ledger nano s showing unrecognised output #2 on: December 18, 2017, 08:44:59 PM
Thank you. I suspected as much.
152  Bitcoin / Electrum / ledger nano s showing unrecognised output #2 on: December 18, 2017, 05:21:15 PM
I was trying to send payment from one address to two addresses. I confirmed that output #1 was correct but output #2 was unrecognised so I cancelled the whole transaction. It was showing in the transaction that output #2 displayed on the ledger nano S was the change address, but I got a little freaked out that the device was asking me to confirm an address which I did not input. Is this usual or is my electrum application compromised?
153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / how many satoshis per byte for segwit transactions on: December 09, 2017, 07:45:36 PM
When sending from the ledger nano s bitcoin segwit wallet to a localbitcoins.com wallet how does one calculate the number of satoshis per byte in order to get a timely confirmation?

I'm familiar with bitcoinfees.earn.com in order to see how full the blocks currently are but this is for the bitcoin legacy wallet. I assume that one could pay less of a fee when sending from the bitcoin segwit wallet, but I don't know where to start. Please advise.

Thanks for all the comments guys. Perhaps I should take a step back a bit.

On whattomine.com what would I enter in the top two lines of boxes. The 480 by default is set to 3 and when I edit this to zero and add 6 in to the 1070 box everything goes to 0.

What am I doing wrong?

Try this

I see that 3 is still placed in 480. I'm assuming 480 is a separate graphics card? Doesn't this skew the calculations if it's calculating as 3x 480s and 6x 1070s?

156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / first time building a rig on: October 07, 2017, 06:46:49 PM
Hello and thank you for reading this post. I'm looking for some advice. I have decided to build a gpu rig for the first time.

I've got a shopping list at amazon and if you would be so kind to take a look and offer me any advice it would be much appreciated. This is everything which I believe that I need in order to build a decent rig according to my research, but intuition says that I am missing a heat sink and fan for the CPU. This feels like a stupid question but would somebody mind advising if I do or do not require a heat sink and fan?

Any other advice much appreciated as to whether this or that component is sufficient or insufficient to do the job.

Thank you once again Smiley

Edit: I guess I should add a case like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/Aluminium-Plastic-Crypto-Ethereum-Bitcoin/dp/B0746QVJF9/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1507402411&sr=8-11&keywords=gpu+mining+case

and forgot risers also https://www.amazon.co.uk/Relper-Lineso-Powered-Riser-Adapter-Extension/dp/B07524GFTS/ref=as_li_ss_tl?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1506966862&sr=1-1&keywords=New+PCIe+VER+006+PCI-E+1X+to+16X+Powered+Riser+Adapter&linkCode=sl1&tag=httpwwwburied-21&linkId=60ca0a8b2a248e1d009bf0d1cc2cdf01

I have a spare monitor, mouse and keyboard already.

I heard that the rake fee is set to be 0% for texas holdem. Is there a list of announced fees for other products such as the sports betting exchange and online games?

Edit: I have other questions.

What is the ETA for the release of the sports betting exchange?
Are there any screenshots/demos of the sports betting exchange available now?

Really cool project!

ETA for Sports betting is Octobter and there are no screenshots/demos of it yet.  Just the testnet release of the Core wallet with implemented features.

There is a lot going on so I recommend joining the Telegram chat; that is where the majority of conversation occurs including w/Team members.

Thanks for the tip. How do i join telegram chat?

click the link: https://t.me/Peerplays

Thanks. It's not very active in there.

160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: liteaddress.org says bitaddress.org after downloading zip on: February 15, 2017, 08:44:39 PM
So, when I download the zip file from liteaddress.org and open it up in my browser, the page that opens has the header of bitaddress.org and it says its a bitcoin wallet instead of a litecoin wallet. I want a litecoin paper wallet. Advice please.

Liteaddress was created from Coblee who forked it from bitaddress.  You can trust liteaddress. I have paper wallets in storage with a copy of the site offline.

But why does the zip i downloaded say bitaddress.org instead of liteaddress.org

If i send litecoin to a bitcoin wallet address, the address isnt valid on the litecoin network is it? Unless i am ignorant.
