Thinking realistically, I believe that after 10 years, the exchange rate of Bitcoin will be somewhere around $40,000 to $50,000 per coin (if Bitcoin seizes a significant part of the remittance market and the online payment processing market). If you invest in 100 Bitcoins right now, after 10 years you'll have $4-5 million with you. Convince your uncle to buy a few more coins.  Though realistically, who would be willing to pay $40,000 to $50,000 for 1 bitcoin? I guess it comes down to affordability, and whether or not the value of our currency will be viable in 10 years time or if it will be replaced (?) by Bitcoin. I like the concept of your proposal but you are asking for $4.2 million in funding using the Indiegoo flexible funding option. I will keep my eye on it and see if you can cross the threshold because I am not interested in funding an underfunded project where you get to keep the investment money even if you do not have the required funds to complete development.

All investments carry inherent risks but I would say yes indeed. Also you do not need to buy 1 BTC. How about consider investing, say, $200/month (or whatever he can afford) and just keep buying $200 worth of BTC per month no matter what the conversion is. This process takes all emotion out of the equation. It is known as dollar cost averaging. Some months you will get more btc than others but it is a systematic way of accumulating BTC. This is not a quick get rich scheme. In fact once you start something like this, continue it for as long as possible.
Process does work better when compound interest is involved but I do not think that there are any trustworthy investment firms paying interest on BTC in BTC. I would love to be corrected on that!

That was the amount set aside to develop the anonymity. It has been paid back so the development can proceed. Price has rebounded. Yeah some people got a turd in their pocket but the quick rebound of the coin has been amazing. It could have been a complete collapse but some good people paid a lot of money out of pocket. Be thankful for that. |
