141  Economy / Speculation / Re: The attractiveness of Bitcoin among my friends on: May 31, 2024, 09:43:44 PM
I’ve been a bit disappointed by my friends this cycle. After nearly a decade of pestering them to get into Bitcoin, I had a group of friends dive in during the 2021 bubble. We had lots of fun shitcoining and the like… Unfortunately they didn’t stick around. I nagged them to buy the bottom, reminded them the entire ride up from $16K about the four year cycle and what was coming… They still haven’t got back in. I guess maybe at $100K they’ll start pitching the next Safemoon to me.

I think most of us have such friends or colleagues or even relatives because I faced similar experience with my parents and relatives when tried convincing them they didn't get convinced and when they invested the market went through bearish pattern and they cashout out with huge loss in the hurry and now I am being blamed for it. I have stopped convincing or even explaining about it to anyone unless they are interested.
142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Donald Trump's stance on Bitcoin is changing, the Trump pump is beginning on: May 31, 2024, 09:09:31 PM
Are we sure Donald Trump will even contest in this forthcoming election? Because the court cases on his head a massive oh. I saw a News that he accepted all the 34 count charges as guilty. And he will be sentence in the 7th of June. And if he is sentence to years imprisonment then he won't contest again and another thing that can restrict him is that, they will accussed of not being a genuine leader so he can't become the leader of the nation. So I am afraid of him contesting in this election.

But if he contest in the election, I think with proclamations he has made about bitcoin, the community will support him to actualize the dreams of the bitcoiners.

Do you really trust his words? We can never believe him as he is a cunning businessman with manipulative mindset hence don't believe in what he is saying he was initially against Bitcoin and now to gain supporters he is using by using his pro crypto act as a clickbait. I think we shouldn't him and moreover he don't have much chances of contesting this time looking at the recent cases where he was guilty.
143  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: child board like this will help newbies so much. on: May 31, 2024, 08:46:34 PM
There are dedicated topics to help beginners or newbies but I always believe that regardless of section or child board they can get the details and knowledge they wish to as there shouldn't be any stigma that they have to refer only a certain sections because knowledge is more important and the required factor here.
144  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Rumours that russia will use nuclear but where ? on: May 31, 2024, 08:13:13 PM
This is bullshit as they will not use nuke else we all will be doomed if nuclear war starts, countries who have the nuclear weapon cannot use it now because there are more than one nation which possesses it and if there is any retaliation from another nuclear armed nation that's all. Why would they use it when they are fighting with much weaker opponents who are surviving due to outside support?
145  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's use the cryptocurrencies and blockchain techology for good idea on: May 31, 2024, 07:59:37 PM
I have some points which may not be accurate for the question posted but rather the way it has been out across, because people need to understand that memecoin wouldn't give them return on long term as we doub their existence hence why do we have to mention about memecoin? They are created just for fun or pump and dump purpose but there are other good project which need to be supported as crypto world doesn't revolve around memecoins and what's the difference between the kind of plan you are suggesting and stocks?
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Meme Coins Resembling Lotteries in the Crypto Space on: May 31, 2024, 07:15:26 PM
Aligned with your though process as we don't often seen memecoin's growth due to the utility it can offer as there is none but they are mostly pump and dump coins wherein one can either get lucky and go to moon or hit rock bottom and even those who go to moon needs to take profit at right moment else within mins everything will go in vain it's pure lottery or gambling or whatever you call but not sustainable.
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DOG- A memecoin on Bitcoin Blockchain on: May 31, 2024, 05:15:47 PM
There are different kind of investors some would like to take huge risk while others don't and then comes those who have already lost huge amount in memecoins and i belong to the last category I understand the potential which memecoins can provide coupled with high risk and there are users who would choose memecoins over other coins while others like me don't want to experiment as we choose reasonable but long term profit without risking much.
148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Are People Not Interested To Listen To Success Stories Of Bitcoin Investors? on: May 31, 2024, 04:53:02 PM
Seriously those who are successful in Bitcoin neither wants to showoff nor they want to be bothered about creating fake social media accounts to share their success story and those stories which you see on social media may or may not be true, But if people shares their true story then those who have lost the investment will realise where did they go wrong it would indeed be helpful but successful people don't flaunt about their success stories.
149  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who has to pay taxes on cryptocurrencies? on: May 30, 2024, 08:28:36 PM
There is a 30% tax on profit in my country and 1% TDS on every transaction as they are not crypto friendly and trying to discourage people from trading or investing as the tax will eat up all your profit when clubbed with TDS at every transaction hence people have started using foreign exchanges which has been banned and used through VPN. Taxing on crypto is unjust to be honest.
150  Economy / Economics / Re: What scares me from investing in gold. on: May 30, 2024, 08:08:04 PM
I would say we shouldn't buy physical gold there is a making charge or GST at the time of buying and they while selling as well there would be wastage charge and in different countries they have different nomenclature for these charges rather i choose to invest in SGB which is available in my country where you get sovereign gold bonds instead of physical gold and sell it just like stocks at last three days average price.
151  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How can we make the government know that Bitcoin is not a scam? on: May 30, 2024, 07:49:24 PM
You can only make those understand that Bitcoin is not scam only if they already thinks Bitcoin as scam but how will you try and make someone understand who knows Bitcoin is not scam but still they call it as scam since they don't want to lose control over the finances. On the other hand bankers and banks will be vanished as people will not prefer bank hence they will not let it happen.
152  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Exchanges Nowadays on: May 30, 2024, 07:24:10 PM
CoinBase was good enough even then if you want to shift I think you can explore Binance and also the kucoin these two cex are going good now. I already used to with Binance for my trading and have know issues. Even then I want to say that always be careful and updated when you used a cex.
Most people have an account on Binance because this is one of the exchanges that many users including me often trade by finding good prices on this exchange, so indeed for trading then choose Binance but never store for long.

But I now prefer to use local exchanges this makes it easier for us to find crypto to fiat, but to find trading then look for global exchanges like Binance.

Binance is the first name which anyone can think of when it comes to trading and there are enough reasons to do so like the the volume, trading pairs and user interface but yeah it's only for trading wherein the funds should be held at wallets once we don't trade . Recently I have been trading in Bitget and they are fair but need a lot of improvement to be compared with Binance.

Countries like India has implemented cruel taxation like 30% on profit and 1% for every trade which has killed Indian exchanges and people don't use it for converting crypto to fiat.
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: $BOME Time to buy? on: May 30, 2024, 07:08:51 PM
I am skeptical about the long term but if someone wants to do it for a short term and if they can stay upto date with the market then they can go ahead with BOME but nee to consider the high risk ratio. I cannot be bothered to stay active everytime and take the stress of monitoring the market and moreover not looking for short term gains hence I wouldn't invest into BOME but others may take a try of the are willing to take huge risk in exchange of with huge profit or loss.
154  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What US and Nato leaders REALLY think of Ukraine on: May 30, 2024, 06:45:43 PM
Man, this is a dirty politics and war between two evil regime one is USA and other one is Russia as both of them have already invaded so many nations and has the history of brutality and committing genocides in foreign lands and Ukraine is just made scapegoat i guess both should come to stalemate and let Ukraine breathe but the problem here is we cannot trust Russia as they may try taking over Ukraine with a surprise. But at the moment Russia should be stopped else it would be impossible from stopping them from capturing entire Ukraine.
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How are your meme bags doing? on: May 30, 2024, 06:11:55 PM
I couldn't experience memecoin bull run as it doesn't happen with all the investors and very few gets lucky. I haven't had much memecoin in my portfolio after losing huge sum of amount in SHIB and I have seen how people have lost their money there are some memecoins which can survive the bear market while others dump so hard they never recover not breach previous ATH.
156  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: I wan buy memecoin and pepecoin on: May 30, 2024, 05:53:40 PM
Though Altcoin discussion would be the right section to discuss this but still I would suggest you not to fall for the trap as memecoins are shitcoins which can make you rich in number and before you could even sell or your sell order gets executed it can go zero and there is no way one can think of holding it for long term. Stay away from memecoins as many have lost their hard earned money because of this.
157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Has Never Been A Scam. on: May 30, 2024, 05:31:57 PM
Indeed, we know the benefits of Bitcoin and how it can be used in mainstream to reduce corruption by making the transaction public about spending of government as it will give a clear-cut details of how the funds are utilizes but governments will never let this happen as they are corrupt and I am not sure if you are talking about one particular country because I don't see any signs of legalising it as they are hell bent on opposing it.
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BEER 🍻 MEMECOIN, will this narrative fly? on: May 29, 2024, 08:45:07 PM
Stupidity at it's peak I think we will have a crypto currency even for breathing and I don't think this will be useful for anyone, we need Altcoins which can make out daily life easier and enhance the technical stack we currently use but we get to see load of memecoins launched everyday and some of them even has decent trading volume. It's bit annoying to see people launching coins just like that.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: New meme coin on BSC on: May 29, 2024, 08:20:48 PM
Not meant to be rude but we see numerous project being launched in this genre and after few weeks neither the project exists nor accounts like your's invest into them. If you really think this is genuine and has tendency to provide good return on investment then please compare it with Doge and Shib and tell us atleast 3 points why we should choose your project.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most investors keeps off from AltCoins because they're not good crypto analysts. on: May 29, 2024, 07:48:04 PM
You forgot to mention the actual issue, which altcoin is the billion dollar question...

Everyone knows that they can make fortune out of few dollars if they get it right but it's not really possible and analysis won't really work for startups, so all you can do is just take the gamble with your money and let's see whether it pays off or you just ended up busted.

Yes, you have quoted the most important reason as investors are not gambler and they need sure shot returns not to be lucky by chance.

That's why most investors are hesitant to invest into Altcoins because they want long term gains but with Altcoins it's difficult because we have often seen Altcoins pumping and then gets dump and never reaches previous ATH.
